I like this Meijer's store. They have a wide variety of groceries but also a good clothing department, a decent pet department, and other specialty items. I think Meijers may be a bit more expensive than Walmart or Krogers but they do have weekly deals and a rewards program called mPerks. You can order stuff online and pickup at the store. There are pickup drive through lanes on the right side of the store. Recently, I ordered an HP printer that was on sale for $89.99. When I drove through the pickup line, the order ended up being $150.49 which was charged to my debit card. That is a negative and I did complain when I filled out an online survey. However, I then received a phone call from Bill A. informing me the printer was on sale when I ordered it but the sale ended when I went to pick it up. He said the sale price still should've been honored, but sometimes that does happen. They refunded the difference and it was credited back to my debit card in a few days. So, I believe they will try to make a mistake right. I go to this store from time to time, and although they occasionally run out of things, I think it is a good store. read more

Today I stopped by the Meijer gas station convenience store on Wilmington Pike in Kettering. One of the employees, while stocking the shelves, was giggling and laughing about the assassination of Charlie Kirk today. This is the worst meijer. Almost everything I buy here is expired. They don't properly refrigerate their food here either. I just bought yum yum sauce from the Asian section get home and it says it MUST be refrigerated at all times even before opening. I purchased two things of feta, turns out it expired 5 days ago. I bought kimchi and there was mold growing all over it. I purchased two things of chicken breast get home and it's rancid and smells very strong and was slimy. I'm never going here ever again as I have given them too many chances. Kroger by Costco is much better read more

They do not enforce the mask mandate. Always see people not wearing masks or wearing them on their chin. Lately have been seeing it from employees too, as well as crowding together talking between themselves or with customers. I Worked Here For 8 Years (I was the young grocery manager) The last Year I was sent on a witch hunt targeting elderly employees whom couldn't move as fast as younger ones and was assigned to terminate them anyways possibly because they made more money. The store directors mocks and makes fun of them nonstop in meetings.. Believe me leadership here only cares about there pay check and the fact they forced a lot of good people to quit or retire because they didn't want to pay them or benefits or to cut payroll is deserved.. There are rude annoying shoppers there. An example would be this elderly man who got upset at me for being in his way, and he frustratingly says "Sir!!" out loud like If did something wrong. Even though, I did nothing wrong. With that, I didn't even hit him with my cart or see him coming. He just was walking way too fast at that anyways. Sometimes, it's too narrow in certain isles to see around the corners. The big problem with shoppers at this Meijer's is that they are way too fast at shopping, and are very entitled. On Friday, June 10th, I spent $63.34 at Meijer. A couple days later, my bank account was down nearly $900 dollars. I looked at my bank account online and Meijer charged me $63.34 FIFTEEN TIMES!!! I have spoken to Meijer service representatives on multiple occasions and most have been rude and refuse to tell me when they are going to give me my money back. Meanwhile I need to pay bills and feed my children. The representatives have apologized for this "inconvenience." This is much more than an inconvenience. DON'T SHOP MEIJER UNLESS YOU WANT ALL OF YOUR MONEY STOLEN FROM YOUR BANK ACCOUNT! They literally charged me over and over again until my bank declined payment after they charged my account down to zero. They also don't understand what caused the problem so it could happen again. I believe this is the 3rd time they have done this in the past couple of months and they have no idea how to fix it! read more

Before COVID, the worsening service began when those silly and unnecessary announcements for some company statistic kept coming through on the intercom and the question on the keypad at the end of the checkout process was frustrating to the cashiers and unhelpful. It's gotten worse since COVID. The turnover in staff is alarming. The result? Don't use a cashier to check out because you won't get all of your bags!! This is a MANAGEMENT ISSUE! It has happened three times in two months to me. The second time I called, the customer service representative didn't act surprised and definitely didn't care. This is clearly a trend at this store. There are other locations in the Dayton area and they aren't this lax and terrible with customer service. It's clean and mostly well-stocked, so the store end is fine. The store checkout and customer service is so lacking that I will never return to this store, ever. read more

I get to Meijer and Hoang greeted me. I then received my medication and noticed 9 pills instead of 30. I said I see on the bottle it states 21 pills remaining. I said I take it your short pulls. He said well short pills or your Anthem will only pay for 9 at a time. I said well which is it? He stated I am sure it's Anthem. I'm not feeling well so I thought you know I will phone back when I run out for more. I then informed him I had another rx. He checked and said that s not ready. I said my physician sent it electronically at 8:30 am and may not have got to you until 10 am but it is 5 pm now. He said I will out urgent on it that your waiting. I waited and went back up at 5:40 pm only to be told not ready. I spoke with pharmacist after leaving Meijer because I am not feeling well and could not wait longer. The pharmacist states the medication request for the medication I did not get was received this am but that medicine was out yesterday and should be in later today. He was not concerned at all about me waiting knowing the medication was not even in the store! I will go elsewhere for my families rx. Please note, others customers were also complaianing. read more

I have since gone to the Meijer on Alex Bell and 741 a few dozen times since this the poor review below. I have to say they do seem to be moving the people along better now. I have not had to wait longer than 20 minutes to check out since my last bad experience. Truthfully I started going early in the morning because I had heard the produce there was far better than Walmart and Kroger, I must agree with that, it is better and priced similarly. I have gone at peak times a few times, and it was not too bad the wait, more registeres were open. Though I must ask why do you need greeters and floor walkers directing people to the self serve checkouts? Why not hire 2 or 3 more people to run registers? read more

Well, thought I'd give them another shot and guess what? Same exact situation with a piece of furniture. If you go to this particular Meijer and have no desire for customer service such as just picking up groceries, etc. you should be ok. If however you need assistance while you're there, forget about it! Went to buy a futon, we were aware that there were none on the floor so when we asked for help we let the associate know, she seemed put out that we even asked for help and then totally ignored what we said and went to the back to get a cart. A while later she showed up with another worker and a cart and seemed to be surprised that there were none on the floor, duh! If she would have listened to me it would have saved her a trip but listening to the customer at this particular Meijer seems to be a foreign concept. I reminded her that I tried to tell her there none on the floor, she seemed annoyed and disappeared to the stock room to look for one. My wife and I waited and waited, even joked that this was exactly (almost anyway) what happened last time. After waiting for a very long time with no update as to what was going on, we left. I did purchase the futon at another area Meijer, they had their stock in the same area, large carts for customers to use, and even helped me load it in my car, night and day difference! I believe that every business has an off day regarding customer service and that's to be expected, but twice in many months for the exact same type of purchase seems to be a trend in my opinion! So I went to my local Meijer with my mom so we could grab a couple groceries. Everything was pretty ok except for the fact that their dog treats were moldy, until we checked out. I was standing there waiting for her to bag everything when she rudely approached me. She said "Stop staring and load the cart!! Or I'll take all your ice cream!!" I immediately go, "Exuse me?" Then she repeats herself. I loaded the cart in shock, but she was very rude. Would've gotten her name but she had no name tag. I loved shopping in the store. But apparently it is IMPOSSIBLE to shop online. You are REQUIRED to pick a store just to get to their website. Once you pick a store on the other side of the country because I live in the west and there are ZERO stores anywhere near my state, there is absolutely nothing on the website. This store is disgusting! I've been grocery shopping here for many years and it has slowly went downhill. I can't count how many times I've taken things back to the store because the food had expired. You name it- milk, yogurt, Little Debbie snacks, even Pepsi! All products I purchased just to get home and find they had already expired! And they're still on the store shelves? Really? Unless you don't care about dates or have all the time in the world to read every date on your food when you're shopping, don't go here! I'll be going to Kroger from now on! read more

The restrooms here are nasty and so are the attitudes of the employees who work here also. We always also find expired on the shelves and when we tell the people who work there.. they give an attitude and refuse to do anything about it.
