Here Today. There Tomorrow! Before today I knew nothing of a Meijer's, what's a Meijer's? Well Meijer's is another Walmart, they run neck to neck. Now, of course I just had to investigate for myself and for the people to decide. What I discovered: 1. Meijer's floral department is waaaay fresher! You can smell their fragrance throughout the store which will put you in the mood for a little 1 stop shopping. 2. They offered sale items, which if you don't usually use Gain laundry detergent "On Sale" will change your mind. 3. The prices on clothes was a shock and looked less of quality than Walmart. Walmart is really starting to suck but if you follow Business News it's explainable. 4. Meijer's had a person posted up at the entrance door to help guide you to the correct department if you're just running in and quickly out. 5. More staff visible to assist. Those are just a few differences I noticed if you have reasons why refuse not to shop at Walmart. As I keep saying, WE like options and DON'T have to put up with sucky service! Always some gimmick going on there. And watch out if you don't see prices posted by the product, you will probably be unpleasantly surprised. Never seems to fail, if you can't find pricing convenient near by the item, it's outrageously priced. read more

Watch out if you shop here and have brown skin of any variety. You get harassed by the bull bottom women at the self check out. They harass you for a receipt after you paid for your groceries. Or they will accuse you of trying to shop lift vegetables if they roll out of your bag as you push your cart out the door. Heinous staff. read more

Let's just say that customer service is not their strong suit. If you just go in and shop you are okay but if you have a question or need some sort of assistance, forget about it. The customer service desk is a joke as they don't want to be of any service to the customer and they surely let you know. Ill tempered, rude employees at this desk. The pictures are a LIE. They're of a different Meijer location. This store is DIRTY and looks like it HASN'T BEEN UPDATED in thirty years. On top of that it is very DISORGANIZED. Products are grouped seemingly at random. I often find that different items of the same category are shelved in two or even three different places all around the store. This makes it VERY DIFFICULT to find exactly what you're looking for. And when you do find the right location, there's a pretty good chance that product will be OUT OF STOCK. I absolutely HATE shopping here, the only reason I do is that the alternatives in this city are worse. read more

****BEWARE***** this place will put profit over the health and well-being of the people they serve. Back on July 24th 2018 Kraft Foods along with the FDA had a recall on Taco Bell Salsa Con Queso over the life threatening "Botulism". Not only did this place fail to look on their shelf pull the recall ones, on July 29th 2018 I returned mine only to see on the self they had 5 jars of the ones being recalled selling them " buy one get one 1/2 off". So I asked to speak to a manger thinking maybe this was just a MAJOR drop the ball thing. The manger stated he knew of the recall but went on days off and thought another person handled it. So he took the 5 jars with him and said he was going to pull them off the shelf. On August 1st 2018 I go back into this store to get a couple of things and walk pass the normal area where this is sold and right before my eyes are the same 5 jars the manger stated he was pulling where back on the shelf. (I had marked the label before he took them the first time). The other 3 jars that was there were all expired. So hoping that maybe it wouldn't let me check out with the recalled ones. Well I was able to buy all 5 of them. Took some pictures then went to return them. While I was returning them the gentleman helping was having problems with the computer. I asked what was happening and he informed me that " the wouldn't let him scan them back into the store because they were recalled. So at the end he was able to get back that and they were returned. So I asked to speak to a manger again. This time I spoke to the lady who is over the grocery part of Meijer's. In her rude but nice way she told me she knew what the story was about when I was there Sunday and she stated is another rude way that they were NOT THE RECALLED ones. As soon as she finished the gentleman who helped me return them spoke up and stated they were flagged they were recalled in the system. So she with nothing else to say other then I'll take care of it. Which I bet the expired ones and these are back on the shelf. I called and emailed their main headquarters with not getting a call back. So they are more worried about lining their pockets then the health of the people they serve. The staff at this Meijer are very friendly and helpful! Everyone I met had a smile and have a good day. The only thing is the device is slow at the deli. When I asked for more help to speed things up I was told that, getting me taken care of wasn't anyone slaw job and they were busy doing something else. Customer service isn't a priority. The shelves were very empty and sale items were already gone. Over all the store look great. read more

I first started going to Meijer in the late 60s when there was only 1 store located in Greenville, Michigan. They're everywhere now! The employees used to be helpful and courteous. Many still are today, but I find that there are a few that are not. I imagine dealing with customers can be stressful, but please don't act like it's a pain to wait on them. Meijer has good produce and meat. If you shop using the weekly specials you can get some good deals. I also use my Mperks to get some extra savings. It is time consuming, however. read more

Felt very disrespected during the last visit. My self and some other came in to get something the manger Ginger said Hello. We continued walking so we could get out as fast as possible. We made it over to the section we were getting what we needed looking at the options for only a minute or so Ginger came over and asked if we needed help we proceeded to say no she than said "please keep in mind we do not tolerate disrespectful customers and to please not make a mess in the store. In my opinion that was very rude we went in the store for a minute to buy something didn't mess with anything but yet because we are college students she was stereotyping. I guess this place is akin to Walmart, and it was perfect when I was looking for beer at 1am. Well, not perfect, because I just wanted a single beer and they only had 6-packs. But I did end up with a huge sandwich and 3 cookies for under $5, and it was better than the fast food options that were open. read more

I love product organization and cleanliness of this store, but have a few major concerns. First, the posted sales items price and scanned price often differ, with the higher regular price always being the scanned price. I can understand an occasional mistake, but this happens far too often here. Second, they have the cleaning crew working too late into the morning. For early morning shoppers we often have to contend with noisy and dirty floor shampooers and closed aisles. Third, they often confuse shoppers by posting sale items with prices like 10 for $5.20. You need a calculator to determine the savings. Walmart has it's own problems but not like these. read more

Meijer - Department Stores Near Me - Mount Pleasant, Michigan

The Mount Pleasant Meijer is a terrible place to shop. Here are my observations: 1. Store is not clean. Consistent issues with out of stock conditions on Nestles flavored waters, assorted produce items and hit and miss on ad items being in stock. 2. Customer safety: Have seen unsafe slip/fall conditions on multiple occasions, usually in the produce area with produce lying on the floor along with wet floors during peak shopping hours. 3. Shopping carts not collected outside. I have a dent in the side of my car due to one that sailed across the parking lot in high winds and hit my car. Management responded that they would try to do a better job collecting carts in the future. Nice huh? 4. Short on staff. Good luck trying to get anyone to answer your questions in the store because they either have high turnover of staff or are cutting labor hours to save money. Fred Meijer wouldn't live with this culture if he were alive. Like other companies that lose the influence of their founders (think Wendy's, Walmart, KFC, etc.), the culture changes when the kids are running the business. 5. Tonight...against my better judgment we returned to this store to buy a few groceries (never again). After checking out, we looked at our receipt and noticed we were charged full price for a couple of boxes of Nutrigrain bars. These bars were displayed on a full end cap off of the main aisle and the sign clearly stated the item description, regular price and sale price. We went up to customer service to get an adjustment on the price variance. The customer service lady was not real friendly and scanned the items in question. She said "No you were charged correctly". We asked why the signage and display reflected a sale price. She called someone to check on the promotional end cap and after speaking to someone on the interoffice phone, she pushes the receipt back across the counter to us and said the promotional sign was for another product not the Nutrigrain bars. Total BS. We knew this was incorrect so we walked back to the end cap display and the Nutrigrain bars were still piled high on the display but the signage was missing. It was clear that customer service was not telling us the truth and took the sign down before we could see it. Funny they didn't take the product off the display though. State law requires that the store pay you 10 times the price variance up to $5.00. Definite CYA on their part. This store is always full of surprises...and not good ones. read more

This store has something so many businesses don't care about anymore Customer Service. It doesn't matter if I'm in the produce department or at the pharmacy all associates go above and beyond to make I'm taken care of. This is a store if you need help the staff is willing to do what they can to ensure you have a good experience. The store is always clean and generally have what I'm going to buy. read more

I would leave no stars if that was an option! I just tried ordering on Meijer's website and opting for the home delivery service from the Mt. Pleasant store and it was a JOKE and a complete waste of time. Not only did the "shopper" not even start shopping until my selected delivery time - she then texted to tell me she would be late, followed by my entire order being cancelled with no explaining and her ignoring my messages. Unbelievably crappy service!!! Meijer is the place! Comparing ads the other day most of their groceries were cheaper or the same price as Wal-Mart, even Ramen Noodles. Produce is FAR better quality and selection. Deli is great. Clearance items can be ridiculously cheap. Sign up for Mperks and digitally clip coupons and get $ off totals as rewards for certain monthly things (I.e. - spend $150, or buy $25 of say... Kraft, get $5 or $3 off next transaction.) Staff is both friendlier and more helpful than most other places. Never have encountered a problem getting a wrong price corrected, or while making return. Bottle return, while located in the back, does not smell like fermenting roadkill, unlike their main competition across town. Also, sells liquor (Fifths and half gallons mainly, not many pint options besides top shelf stuff.) They also now do offer single, refrigerated bottles of beer. The Midland store is one of the few places I could recommend if you happened to be in the market for a $500 bottle of champagne or a $200 bottle of Scotch... (let's be friends?) This store is generally clean and WalMart-ish. they have just about everything you could need. They have great produce, even some organic foods. Unfortunately the prices are often not the same as the signs...be watchful. Also, I bought some of their storebrand hummus there that had a good expiration date, but it was bad & made us sick. They also have the trash stickers locked up like they are gold bricks, which means you have to wait and wait for someone to unlock the treasure so you can buy it. Last time i had to wait 15 minutes--ridiculous. I might just switch to Ric's now that I think about it...avoid all the long waits and lines! P.S. Dont use the Isabella Bank ATM in lobby--it eats your card! Ive met three other people who had their bank cards eaten...too much of a hassel :-/ read more
