The minute you walk in you're going to be hungry, even if you just ate. The house smoked and cured meats can literally be smelled in the parking lot. DGS has everything from local North Michigan specialities to fresh produce and an array of MI butchery products. The star of the show however is all their house made meats... Sausages, brats, jerky, etc., DSG has it all. Plus the staff is super friendly and helpful... Some of the friendliest people we've met in a while. I've noticed Wallymart has increased in prices over the years and especially in this state, I read it was due to staff and public theft. But at any rate, Wallymart is an all time favorite of mines. Now, of course I just had to investigate for myself and for the people to decide. What I discovered: 1. Meijer's floral department is waaaay fresher! You can smell their fragrance throughout the store which will put you in the mood for a little 1 stop shopping. 2. They offered sale items, which if you don't usually use Gain laundry detergent "On Sale" will change your mind. 3. The prices on clothes was a shock and looked less of quality than Walmart. Walmart is really starting to suck but if you follow Business News it's explainable. 4. Meijer's had a person posted up at the entrance door to help guide you to the correct department if you're just running in and quickly out. 5. More staff visible to assist.
