They always have good produce and if you can't find it at Meijer then you probably don't need it that badly. If I come here hungry then I am going to be in some serious trouble. They have so many tasty snack items, a huge candy aisle and tons of cookies and other baked goods. But if I manage to behave myself, I usually wind up with some really good sale prices on fresh and good quality groceries. As a bonus, there is a Starbucks there so you can pick up a tasty beverage to accompany you on your shopping. My only complaint is this - the attendants at the express lanes stand there while people check out sometimes 25-30 items when they are only supposed to have 12. It seems like the attendants don't want to offend anyone but the rest of us rule followers are the ones who suffer. read more

If I could give negative stars to this place I would. If you have been a bad person and want to know what hell will be like, drop in here any time from Memorial Day through Labor Day-or any day, it really doesn't make much difference. If Walmart tried to date Target and got shunned and then had a one night stand with Dollar Tree, Meijer would be the fruit of that unholy union. I'm not sure what is worse, the acres and acres fluorescent-lit crap or gianormous crowds flocking to this s#!t hole. Yes, everything is under one roof: guns, groceries, clothes, barber and the ONLY Starbucks for probably 45 miles, but the cold dead eyes of the employees says it all. But its open 24/7!! Who cares, go to a liquor store instead! The only thing that keeps people going here is sheer laziness, the prices aren't any better that other stores. Caveat: in the event of a major snowstorm or other apocalyptic event, shopping here may be your only choice to get everything you need and get home. read more

Meijer has a great produce section , good labeling and their variety and prices are great , it is definitely a one stop shop from groceries , clothes, shoes and pharmacy ...the list goes on and on. The staff is friendly and most of the time will know exactly where an item is and if they don't they will find out . It has been the place I have shopped for years , the only drawback is the lines , they have a lot of registers but not a lot of cashiers. read more

Horrible experience when returning a wireless keyboard. I had the receipt, but when scanned the UPC number on the receipt did not match what came up in the system. The clerk, Tammy, implied I was trying to return something I hadn't bought, although I had a receipt for the right price. How many keyboards did she think I keep receipts for? I came out and asked her if she thought I was lying. She said she had never seen this before, but she didn't want me to feel bad, never apologizing or acknowledging that there could be a computer error. I asked to talk to a store manager, who did come out and was extremely nice so they get credit for that. I have never felt so disrespected or made to feel like a criminal when trying to make simple return with a receipt. Do not accuse your customers of unethical behavior when trying to make a legal return with an unopened item and receipt. read more

This store has it all! They have fresh produce, meat, fish and it's all of good quality. Pricing is great and always a large selection of everything. This store even has a Starbucks in it! Open 24/7 with a friendly staff and tons of registers always running including self checkout. Only downside is that the parking lot is constantly full, so parking close to the entrance is hard. Not really the stores fault. read more

The first time I visited a Meijer store was in Ann Arbor with one of my uncles, I never had seen so much stuff in one place before except maybe at Disneyland or in Southern California (in general). As a resident of another State spending the summer months in Traverse City, I can tell you that I prefer Meijer above all other supermarkets in this city. The store is huge, carrying a wide selection of each item. The meat, fish and poultry counters are well stocked with every imaginable cut and size. The cleanliness, wide aisles, and very friendly service are one of the things that keeps me coming back again and again. I wish we had this store on the west coast where I now live, but for now I just enjoy shopping here when I can. read more

24-hour store--and that's a good thing. If you go at 6 AM the employees are friendly, the store is clean, and the lines are short. The worst that can happen is that you may be run over by a floor-polishing machine, but at least the rude and noisy customers who populate the place later in the day are still in bed. I make a special effort to get there a couple of times a month to stock up on foreign foodstuffs and pet supplies. read more

Compared to the other Meijers that I have been to, this one is phenomenal. It is clean and has a huge selection of produce. All of their employees that are on the floor are both helpful and friendly (a difference from the stores I have shopped at in different cities). More importantly, this is the only place to grab a Starbucks at in all of Traverse City, so I tend to stop by here a LOT. read more

Anyone who lives in the area HATES Meijers - they may shop there but it drives them nuts. They are ALWAYS 'out of stock' on basic normal things -- tomato paste or sliced canned potatoes last fall were not an exotic item. Last fall it was 15 items over 9 departments that were no in stock but the website said they in stock. Went there today with a list - a list made off the Meijers website which said EVERY ITEM was IN STOCK. I got through the first 21 things on the list -- and 9 things (38 items I planned on buying) were OUT and on the 10th item, I wanted 2 qt bottles of heavy cream and they only had 1. Made 39 things in all that I could not get. All I have are 9 rainchecks - and maybe if the sun shines and the creek doesn't rise they might one day have one or another thing is stock (but never all on the same day) This happens EVERY TIME you go in there. This time I had it and only bought things that I couldn't get elsewhere and left another 9 items on a shelf. DO NOT ever go there expecting they will have anything in stock and it has been like this for over 2 years and has nothing to do with the virus - and their website LIES . Go to Olsens, to Toms, to Family Fare --- you will pay 10-15% more but at least they have the shelves stocked. read more

While the bakery items may be good, the service was atrocious. We went in to order my daughter's birthday cake, but the extremely rude gal behaved as though we were an intrusion. She did not smile. She did not greet us. She simply (finally) walked over to the counter and looked at us. When we told her we wanted to order a cake, she sighed loudly and grabbed an order form. When we specified buttercream frosting instead of whipped, she said "we're out". Um, a bakery as large as Meijer OUT of buttercream?! Ok, so we decided to go somewhere else. We did say "thank you", although I'm not quite sure what for, and she just walked away. Seriously Meijer, do you think this is okay customer service? We ended up at Walmart and got buttercream frosting (yay) as well as a beautifully decorated and very tasty cake. Sorry to say that Meijer bakery won't get any more business from us. read more

I'm pretty much sold on meijers, they offer good sales and fresh produce. The selection is the best in TC but I will never buy their fried chicken in the deli..ever again! I purchased the 8 piece fried chicken and purchased it still warm from the deli counter. The white meat was over cooked and tough. The breading could have busted my teeth. I'm sure they cooked both dark and white meat for the same amount of time, so buyer beware for meijers fried chicken! read more

Recently renovated, looks great and everything is well stocked and organized. Newly added drive thru pharmacy, and bottle return. It's open 24/7 which is awesome! Great staff who are actually helpful!! I only grocery shop at meijer! read more

without Meijer, our yearly vacation would never be the same. in one stop, we can load up on booze, food, meats to cook over open flames, pillow cases for those of us who forgot them, sweaters for those of us who forgot them .... anything you could possibly need during your week's stay in one of the lovely cabins in the area. thank you Meijer. you've saved me from the hell that is wal-mart. read more
