As a first time visitor to Traverse City, this bagel shop came highly recommended! As I arrived around 9am on Saturday morning there was a line out the door. I ended up waiting about 15 minutes until I got up to the counter to order. After I ordered I only waited about 5 minutes for my bagels to be ready. They really had quick service which was awesome! The inside of the restaurant is small, making it tight when the line gets long and people are waiting for their food. The staff were super friendly and personable which really made the experience better. I ordered the nosh which I enjoyed! The bagel did eat a little tough and chewy in my opinion but the sandwich as a whole was tasty. They have a wide variety of bagels and cream cheese, making the menu diverse. I heard this place gets busy, so I placed my order online. It was so easy! I drove over to grab them, and there was a line near the entrance and the inside was full of people waiting. Since it was so full, it was hard to see if there was a lot of seating areas. I'm thinking no, since almost everyone was standing and smushed together. They have a pick-up area, so it was still easy and quick for me. I don't know what it is about Michigan, but a lot of the places I visited tasted so salty to me. I was hoping this would be different since it looked so fresh. I got a breakfast sandwich bagel that looked and smelled amazing. With my first bite, all I got was salt. I couldn't taste the egg, cheese, or anything else which was weird to me. The cream cheese was supposed to be scallion or green onion flavored. I saw even a piece of onion on it but I couldn't taste it. Overall, I thought the bagel had a nice texture and the sandwich was a fair size for the price. We went to bubbies for a quick breakfast before we went up to old mission lighthouse. There was a bit of a line, but it moved pretty quickly and we were inside before we knew it. Inside they have a few local items to buy. The cashier was really helpful and answered any questions we had. It is a bit tight inside of the shop, but the wait wasn't long so it wasn't too bad. We stopped here on a whim to grab breakfast before starting our road trip home and are so glad we did! The place was clearly very popular with a line going a ways down the sidewalk, but the staff did a great job of moving the line along quickly, so it didn't feel like a terrible wait. I got the Carlson sandwich that was on special (white fish salad!) and my boyfriend got the veggie sandwich. We both got the sandwiches on everything bagels and loved them! The portions are generous and the bagels are DELICIOUS. The store itself is cute and they have it set up well with an area for call-ahead pickup, and despite the long line and many call-in orders, we only waited a couple of minutes after ordering to get our sandwiches. My boyfriend tells me the coffee was good as well! To top it off, despite being really busy, the staff were organized, cheerful, and friendly.
