The coffeehouse is situated close to the König-Heinrich-Platz, hidden away in a small alley - I am pretty sure that I wouldn't have found it, had I not been directly looking for it. It is a small cafe with plenty of seats (indoors & outdoors), a tiny counter, its own roaster in the corner (yes, they do roast their own coffee beans!!!) and enough coffeehouse atmosphere to supply the entire city with it. It is quite obvious that the people here have a deep love for coffee - it's not just another "double-ccino-caramel-froth-something"-place, this is pure coffee made with love! And what happens when people add enough love, passion and knowledge to their product? You can taste the difference! Best café in Duisburg, if you ask me! Sat down and ordered a few drinks along with burgers which were nothing fancy. They're frozen paddies like you'd get from McDonalds. Long story short, when it was time to pay I was told they only accept EC cards ( German Debit cards ). Not only did I not get an apology, they were blaming me for not having an EC card or cash even though I asked specifically beforehand for this very reason. They held my ID until I went to the ATM and got cash, and only after I paid they said a simple sorry and that the employee was made aware that they don't accept CC. Ruined a perfect night.

Five minutes after I had ordered my drink, another employee asked me again what I had ordered, and just then started preparing my coffee. Staff in general could have been friendlier - and quicker, of course. Free wi-fi and comfortable couches brightened my mood again, but this location is still not what you would call a cozy place to hang out. Instead, you wonder why locals seem to avoid this place on a busy day! The coffee itself was excellent as always from Starbucks, and a fully stocked condiment bar was available. Both times we tried three different cakes each and I have to say that each cake was very delicious. The cafe is in an area which is not that nice and it's a location where u wouldn't normally go to drink a coffee and eat cake. Thanks to Groupon we found this little cafe and we would prob go there again.
