I went to go fix my brakes from the front and the back and went to go do an oil change. I was ripped off I paid $1,074.00 . I left really upset never been charged so much. I drove my car to work and the brakes were grinding really bad after I fixed the car. I was having a problem stopping the car so I decided to take my car another mechanic to see why the car was giving me issues after going to Meineke. The mechanic told me they never fixed the brakes in my car. I do not recommend anyone ever go to Meineke they are thieves they will steal your money and not do anything. read more

My Fiancé took a tire in here to have it plugged for a nail.. they took the tire from the trunk, and 20 mins later came to her and said we needed a new tire as the sidewall had a massive hole. That damage was not there when it was brought in to them, and even the manager Fred said he did not see it when it carried it to the garage from car. The damage was so massive that no one could have missed it and I know it was not there as i took it off the car myself. They refused to take any responsibility, and I'm out 400.00 now.. I may never get my money back but I'll post on every review site and will Be filling a civil lawsuit as this can not be allowed to happen to anyone. read more

I brought my old station wagon by to have an exceedingly loud exhaust checked out and was warned up front that they didn't carry European components in stock but they would do what they could if possible. A few minutes later, my car was up on the lift and having new sections of pipe welded in place, and the crack in the tailpipe was also fixed, all in under an hour. The manager patiently answered all my questions and was helpful, two traits I very much appreciated. While I waited, a woman came in saying that her car previously wouldn't start. The manager patiently listened, checked out the car immediately and explained the likely cause, free of charge, saving the motorist a chunk of change and allowing her to find a simple, inexpensive fix. I do plenty of my own car repairs, but for anything else, I would definitely consider bringing it here. A great experience! read more

Brought my car here recently because of a strange whistling sound when I turn my wheels while parked. Mechanic told me that I had a busted hydraulic tensioner and a timing belt that had stretched out beyond repair. Estimate was $405 for parts and labor. I said no thank you, and had a friend's mechanic check the car. He realigned the timing belt, did not need any new parts. Total cost was $60. I hope I can save someone else from being ripped off. They checked the brakes and found that there was still plenty of wear left on them -- and while they could have easily just replaced them and charged me and I never would have known, they called me and said there was no need to replace, and to come pick it up free of charge. That day they earned my trust. They have continued to do quality work and tell me the truth about my car's needs time and time again over our relationship. I brought my vehicle in for an exhaust repair, because it had developed a sudden loud exhaust tone and I could smell exhaust within the vehicle. I arranged to drop it off overnight so that the vehicle's engine would be cold and safer to work on. "Ronaldo" called me with a quote to replace the part of the exhaust that connected to the manifold. It would require replacing the catalytic converter too, because the broken pipe was too close to couple or weld to the catalytic converter. I agreed to having the work done. When I picked up the vehicle it was a little louder than normal, although I expected it to sound different as the shop would probably have gone with a proprietary or aftermarket catalytic converter. I informed the Manager, "Fred" that the vehicle exhaust was a little noisy and I could hear a heatshield making noise. I agreed to take it home and allow the exhaust to settle into it's hangers and if the problem persisted, I'd bring it back. A day or so later the "check engine" light came on and upon inspection I noticed a leak in the exhaust about two feet from the rearend. I immediately called "Fred" and was told to bring it back. "Ronaldo" called me back and told me that a middle rear section of the exhaust needed to be replaced for another 400-something dollars! I asked him why he didn't mention it when he first looked at the vehicle and his response was that he "didn't want to give me a high price"!! I never asked him for any sort of discount, nor did I walk in crying poverty, I went there to fix the problem. Now I was 700-something deep in repairs and absolutely nowhere near resolving the problem!! Furthermore, the vehicle logs showed it never had a "check engine" code before. So obviously the catalytic converter was no good. "Ronaldo" asked me to do him a favor and drive the vehicle for 5000 miles and see if the residue left by the new cat's manufacturing process burned off and stopped triggering a code. I reset the code and while I figured out what to do about the rest of the exhaust, the code came back 2 days later! Enough was enough, I called Ronaldo and was told Fred was "No longer with us". I arranged to bring it back. When I got there I told Ronaldo that I needed the vehicle repaired properly and he told me it was "not his fault" because he didn't work on the car!! Then he had the audacity to say that the vehicle was loud when I brought it in!! I asked him if he tested the car after replacing the catalytic section, his response was a rhetorical "well, what do you want me to do about it"!?! I told him to just start with the cat replacement and we'll circle back. This is the worse place I have ever dealt with. I'm going to file a complaint with the BBB and pursue a resolution in small claims court. Stay away from these people! ******Update****** I called the so-called customer service number and requested a callback from the owner of this particular location, I had to explain everything twice, spoke to three people and had to hang up after being placed on hold, silently; for a half hour. It was a complete waste of time. I'm not going to bother with them anymore, I'll let the court system dictate their next course of action. Took vehicle in for basic oil change and tire balance/rotation and alignment. 23 point inspection is to be performed with all oil changes. Two days after oil change, my wiper fluid was empty. While filling fluid, I noticed my coolant was below minimum. Though the fluids were not supposed to be topped off with a basic change, they should have been notated on the invoice and/or when I picked my car up. After calling location to explain the situation, I thought they would offer to perform the inspection again. They didn't. Thankfully I caught this before something bad happened. Sadly, you need to check their work after services are performed. I will not be returning to Meineke. read more

Marcio said he would take a look and call me back. I expected a bunch of bull considering the area, that I was stuck and from out of town. He was right on the money and honest. Had the flex pipe dislodge from manifold of car. Brought car in after work without notice and was warmly greeted by "John". I explained problem and he had car brought in to be inspected and I asked how much approximately it would cost. After inspection his quote was the same for this problem. His Technician also found that my serpentine belt (the main belt that drives the engine components) needed replacing. I was shown the worn and cracked belt. I gave them the okay to change that too. While doing this I asked if they could change oil. My car was finished in an hour for a price that was unexpectedly below anything I could imagine. The facility was very neat and organized and very busy as well. Why I was there several customers came in without appointments and John assured them that he would address their needs by looking at their cars asap. Highly professional in every way. Newark gets a bad wrap most of the time but this business is worth going out of your way for. read more

I am super disappointed! I went to Meineke guess cause of there name. Tired of getting ripped off by the local mechanic. Figured I may pay a little more but they was going to do the job right. Of course the work is done under the car so you don't know what they did you just take there word for it. It's Meineke well atleast that's what I thought. One of my mufflers was smoking so I took it to Meineke. They said the would put a new straight pipe and cut out my converter. Everything seemed great. Thought they did a good job. Let's just say I am not car savy. But that's why I took it to Meineke.. Well about 45-60 days later I am on the high way and see the smoke again. So I took to another Meineke to check out the problem. Only for them to inform me that who ever worked on my muffler just did a bad patch up job. Just pieces it together and patched up. And I will have to do the work again that I thought I did with them.. l am a man and they got me I can only imagine what they do to women. They will feed you that oh we have bad reviews cause no one writes one when they happy. Well in this case I am not happy. Like dam I went to Meineke and got fucked.
