Great food, good service, typical small family restaurant feel. Nice little eatery to enjoy a meal

I absolutely adored my evening at Cru. I will run, not walk, back here the next time in Oslo. I had a ravishingly good glass of Sekt (sparkling riesling) by von Buhl, which was crisp and acidic and a bit biscuity, though not as much as the blanc de blanc champagnes I love. The bread and butter on the table was the most delicious dark caraway bread I've ever had in my life, hands down. I had a slow-cooked lamb stew that was small but thrillingly good. There was watercress and bacon along with it, over a pea purée and with some fresher peas. Absolutely delicious, the meat was extremely tender and tasty. I would have wished for twice as much. My waiter/sommelier steered me away from a 1999 Château Lanessan (which he let me try anyway) because it was kind of faded and instead towards a 2015 Barda Pinot Noir from Argentina, which was in a much better window and ended up matching better. (Though in the end, although it is tastefully made, there was too much new oak and sweetness in it for my taste.) I had a crème catalane at the end which was very nice and palate-cleansing. The main portion was small, but the food was incredibly good. Maybe have a little apéro snack before you head to Cru. And yes, the bill adds up quickly, but this is Oslo. This was quality.

Nice location quiet and secluded at Majorstuen (Oslo West) The Restaurant was warm and nicely decorated. The waiter seated us and started telling us about the menu (We went for the 7-course menu) the staff was professional and friendly, the sommelier was very knowledgeable and he recommended some great wine throughout the entire meal. This is one of Oslo's best restaurants right now, the food and the wine was perfect inn every way, as was the staff @ CRU. Highly recommended.

Oh I am thorn. Because the flavours are really good. Service was good. Prices are as expected…read more However, the interior and overall ambiance is more like 'order, eat and leave'. Simplistic and not very cozy. Buuut. Have in mind. The food was 4-5 for me and I had a great Lebanese red wine. Try the kebab and the Lebaneh (think thats the name of the home made cheese dish). Pita bread was yummy too and the same goes for the rest I had. For me its about the whole experience. I would for sure eat here again, but its not where you bring your Tinder date=) Book a table in advance because its a very popular place.

They had confirmed by SMS two days before when the order was placed that I could pick up the food at 18:00. Then on Saturday when I was going to pick up the food I waited first in the rain and 4 degrees for 10 min before the staff asked for my name, then I waited another 25 min before taking my name for the second time. He checked the order list and said they had no order on my name. So after 35-40 my wait I left without food. Since it was late on Easter Eve, it was not easy to get food elsewhere in the city - but fortunately I got food from Saray. They had a long wait to order, but they called me and explained why and that they arrived as soon as they could. When Saray delivered I was given some extra food as a compensation because it had taken some time before they brought the food. The food from Saray was good, service superb. I can't say that about Ben Reddik, I wrote SMS and sent mld via insta but got no reply! They are probably a popular restaurant that right now, in the middle of the corona era, and does not have to deal with customer service or know what it means! Anyway they end up on the minus side when it comes to from me.
