Then when I was on vacation 3 months they sited catnip for dope pinning it on cat-sitter. The bag was clearly marked and we don't touch the stuff! This property management company cares little for the people who live in the buildings it manages, and even less for the people who are former tenants. Upon leaving my rental unit, for which I paid consistently and on time, I was asked not only to pay for some minor issues with the unit, I was also not allowed a resonable grace period to respond with payment. Melchior sent me a bill and I paid it less than a week after receiving it. Three days after putting the cheque in the mail, I got a letter from a collection agency asking for the payment. After calling Melchior Management, I was informed that they now would have nothing to do with me, and that I was expected to write ANOTHER cheque and send it to the collection agency. They don't care about customer service, and they care even less about good business practices. I would recommend trying to avoid them at all costs, since their property management is only about the bottom line instead of making a tenant's stay somewhat enjoyable. You'll find yourself paying for costs that were not included in the lease throughout your tennancy. read more

They would not let me sign the lease until the day I moved in. They would not give me time to look it over. They wanted my first, last and deposits 2 months before I got to read the lease. They could not send me a letter saying that I was accepted, and they could not send me a receipt once they got my money. I had no way to prove the apartment was mine ( other then verbal. ) They also would NOT show me the actual apartment I was renting. They showed me a "similar" one. When asked where to send the money, the superintendant of the building told me it was to be made out to HER. The company then gave me 3 different places to make the money out to through out the conversation. I was never given a straight answer. When I questioned about a lease or a letter or anything to prove the apartment was mine, they got very angry, said they were a big company and that I would not be sent anything. They then told me that 4 people were accepted for the apartment and that who ever got the money in first would get the apartment. I questioned them about getting the money back and they got rude and hung up on me! Not a good company to deal with if you want to feel secure with your money. read more

This is the second time I've rented an apartment from Melchior Management and I couldn't be happier. I've only ever experienced positive co-operation, warmth and in both buildings (Alliston Gardens and Cedarwood Court) I've lived in, have always felt safe and secure. Both buildings were always kept clean, in good repair and if I needed something done, it got done! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Melchior Management to anyone.
