My Sadies favorite park. I visit this park to make my 12 year old Sadie's life complete. I call it Lizard park during the summer and spring as you can find many running around in the nice hot sunny days . This beautiful park has it all - beautiful grass , wonderful play ground area for both smaller and bigger children as well as shaded areas , a covered large patio area that you can reserve for parties when we are not in Covid . The patio offers seating for large parties and BBQs and nice clean bathrooms just steps away from the play area and covered Eatting area . This great park offers base ball area and basketball courts . It has mature trees where you can find many just sitting in a nice chair or chairs sitting 6 feet apart doing bible study or having a nice bite to eat with 2-3 family or friends . Sadie and I enjoy stopping by so we can walk or she can sniff for lizards in her 10 Mins then head home , this is her happy place to visit as she feels most comfortable here. Yet another beautiful , clean, well kept and manicured park located in Southern Orange County is the Melinda Park located at the corner of Santa Margarita Parkway and Melinda Road. This large approximately 8 acre park within the Mission Viejo community offers a large picnic gazebo structure with multiple large picnic tables and a barbecue, which are available for rental for parties along with multiple play structures for young children as well as a softball field, football field and basketball court. There are steel mesh benches scattered throughout the park, which provide a great view of the kids from all angles. The playground is located on sand with recycled rubber under all of the equipment, so don't forget to pack some sand toys for your little ones. It is a little noisier compared to other parks in our own neighborhood because of it's location between two busy streets, but still a nice option if you're in the area. read more

Attended a nice bday party here. Nice gazebo! Don't worry about finding shade and how many tables you will need because there is plenty!!! The gazebo can be rented for $25 bucks for 3 hrs through the city of Mission Viejo. You can also rent a bounce house here too! Looks like the city can help you with that cuz they are contracted with certain companies that provide the appropriate insurance. Definitely a beautiful park to have a party especially if you have kids!!! read more

This is a great park to take your kids to get some exercise and run off a bit of their energy. Very clean and well-maintained, there are several different play stations for different age children. They also have a few benches and some paths for you to walk along at. There is an area to have parties with cover as well. Large parking lot and easy access off of the main road. read more

This park is the only park in the area with open toilets. Other dog dung parks are simply surrounded by walls and barbed wire. Those residents are more in line with this configuration. read more

This is one of the nicer parks in the RSM, Mission Viejo area. I have been here several times, and it is a great place to visit. There is adequate parking, and nice facilities. The whole park is well-maintained and a great place to visit with your family. read more

Suki and I have been hitting up most of the parks in the area because of her obedience level 2 class which required us to be outside at the park amongst distractions. We met her classmates here a few Saturdays ago. Immediately we observe that there is a little parking lot to park in but there is plenty of street parking as well. The place is obviously dog friendly because there are doggy bag dispensers at various points around the perimeter. Suki was really good with all the soccer playing kids but had trouble with the ones on skateboards. There's a small playground, picnic areas, and plenty of grass to romp around in. Suki isn't allowed to be off-leash but we'll have her on the long line so she can run around still tethered to me. Pretty quaint little neighborhood park. read more

I walk down to this park with my dog every so often when I'm feeling up to it. It's an easy place to walk to for me from home. I walk around the field with my dog and then walk back home. We normally meet another dog or two at this park. It's a nice clean park that has undergone some nice changes over the years. This has always been my go to park as a kid growing up. It's clean and never too crowded. There is a area with picnic tables under a big roof where people sometimes celebrate birthday parties. I think you need to reserve the area though if you do plan a party. The bathrooms here are pretty typical for any park, not the best, but it's convenient that they're there. There's also a drinking fountain and a basketball court. This place holds a lot of memories from my childhood. It's a nice little peaceful place and I'm happy I live right by it. read more

Love coming here!! There are always so many great families to share a play date with. It's a great big park with a huge field for my little one to run a muck on. LOVED the park. I had my son's 1st birthday there. $25.00 for the covered area was a great deal. I had about 50-60 people and it accommodated them nicely. The city worker came and emptied all of the trash from the group prior to ours which was nice. The restrooms are clean and well maintained. The park is not too big or too small and offers a variety of things to play on at all different age levels. The perfect place for his 1st birthday. read more

It's an uphill walk from my home, so quite a journey, and with 3 kids many rest stops..However once we are there they love this park I do get a little overprotective as it is a little bit and 3 heads to keep track of so sometimes I don't care for the busy times. Other than that it's a beautiful and relaxing park to sit on a blanket in the grass as the kids play... If your lucky and have extra eyes a nice book or quick nap would be heaven on earth read more

We love this park! Our 14 month old has enjoyed playing here since she was crawling. They have two areas one for older kids with many big slides and an area for little ones. It's a sand park but it has soft clean sand. Around the park is soccer fields, shaded seating area which can be reserved for parties (which gets booked way in advance) and a public bathroom. I do wish they had more walking around the whole park. There isn't any shade for the actual play area which is tough during hot days but there are benches and tables all around that are shaded by trees. Sadly the last time we went, there was a kids party going on and they were an absolute mess! They had soda cans, McDonald's kiddie meals and other trash all over the park! They of course cleaned the reserved area but didn't care to clean the actual park. I have never been to a park that had trash all over the place like it did and I was visually seeing the kids bring drinks over to the play ground to just leave it there! I never have called in my life, but called the city to say something in which they said they would have city workers go by the next morning to clean up. Anyways we love this park and love to see all the little ones (including our own) so greatly enjoying the play. We hope next time we are back it is clean as it's one of the best parks in the area! read more
