We just completed our mortgage after more than 6 months! We worked with one of their people out of Palm Beach County (Florida) on the basis of a recommendation for a home we were purchasing in North Carolina. Our representative was both inept and untruthful. On more than one occasion she kept requesting documentation that was previously provided her. She used old data to compute an outrageous closing check to pay off existing debt even though such debt was paid off in its entirety monthly. This was a concept she either could not comprehend or chose to disregard. As we crept to a potential closing date, she got involved with the loan processor which lead to more details and an internal fight between the two of them. I am not a newbie to house purchasing ads this was my 11th home bought. However, this was, by far, the single worst mortgage company I've ever dealt with. Movement Mortgage should rename itself--No Movement. That would accurately describe them.

I have a credit card credit, so their online app instructed me to call in to get a refund. Calling into BOA is a painful and manipulative experience. These people will do anything not to connect you with a live agent. You can follow their phone prompts for over 5 minutes and they'll attempt to get you into an automated system 15-20 times to avoid live services. They'll even feed you back into the same prompt chains over and over again. This comes as no surprise because it's been my experience for years. Today, after navigating their maze of prompts, I was told by an agent that they would only send me printed check to zero out a credit on my card. No transfer into my checking account. These people are trying to tell me that a secure, verified, and immediate electronic transfer is more risky than sending a printed check through snail mail that ends up in an unsecured mail box. These people don't want to credit back the funds. They want me to keep the balance so I spend money on the credit card. For many reasons, I have to stick with Bank of America. I don't do so without strong reservations and a massive distrust for this impersonal and ethically-questionable bank.
