All washers are either out of order and the dryers take 0.25 cents to dry, you have to add $2.00 to get them dried if you dont add more because they're still damp. Everytime I come here either washers are out of order or the dryers are out of service. This is ridiculous get you crap together! read more

I haven't seen bugs, but this place is far from clean. There is a strong scent of mold present at Melissa's Laundry. There are no attendants and machines rob your quarters. Many machines are inoperable. The last time I was there, even the change machine was out of order. read more

We attempted to use Melissa's Laundry today. Wasn't necessarily the cleanest facility that I've seen, They have two machines for dispensing coins in order to use the washers and dryers. One of the coin machines had a sign that read out of order, the only difference between the two coin machines was the fact that one had a sign that read our of order, the other was just out of order with no sign. The only good thing about this place is you can walk across the street to the beach after to rid your stress!!! I used 2 $6 washers. 1 stopped half way with an error code. The clothes were soaked and not washed. I had sat outside to enjoy the sunshine during the wash so my other load was nearly finished! I looked around for a phone number (no body on duty) and only found a sign that there are no refunds!! So I went down the row to find another washer and it hesitated to start but luckily it did! I then went to use a dryer with the load that was now complete, and the lady at the dryers told me the first 4 either take your money or they don't warm up!! Glad she was there So I didn't loose more money!! I then put 3 quarters in machine and got 9 minutes!! Its only 3 minutes per quarter!!! So then I go to get more coins and the machine took my $ with no coins!! Glad it was only $1 this time not the $20 I used originally!! I just moved into the area and this is the closest laundromat but I will definitely drive further out to find a better place! read more

we used this service to try and launder our bedding. they never answered the phone and it took a week. There was never an attendant so we couldn't find out any information about our belongings. They charged twenty five dollars for each load, which is ridiculous for sheets. The woman finally got back to my husband via text and gave him an address on the island for porch pick up. it wasn't even at the establishment! we will never use this service again. It would be better to use the laundromat in Wilmington than go through this again. read more

I'm all for supporting local businesses- and based on the 3 previous reviewers giving Melissa's stellar reviews is why we drove out of our way to get here. That's where stellar stops and reality sets in. Maybe it's because we've visited laundromats all over the country in our RV but this ranks as probably one of the worst. First sign of neglect- 9 washers are out of service. Second sign- the $6 washer I happened to choose for a hot wash was warm at best. And last, overheard regulars commenting on which 4 dryers were "worth it". And riddle me this- how do you start 2 of the same size washers at the same time and one finishes 12 minutes before the other? Obviously, Melissa's is an asset to the local community. I can only hope the owners will step up and bring this place to a higher standard of quality. The overall condition (cleanliness 2/5). Value 2/5 - higher price/wash. No attendant on site. read more

We went there today, based on the reviews what a disappointment, the place is filthy, the front of the washers were dirty, both change machines were broken, I had to leave to get change to do our laundry There was no attendant there, the place is run down, and dirty First and last time I will go there. We were in the process of moving out of state. Our house hold goods were already shipped, so I dropped my laundry here. I have tried repeatedly to get my belongings, but they never answer the phone. I've had family go by and the office is never open. I lost everything. The voice mail is full. So frustrating. read more

Basic, clean and good. A lot of different size washers and dryers. Only coin operated but has change machine and a vending snack machine.

I didn't think it was possible to get my clothes back from a drop off laundry service more wrinkled than when I brought them in. Well, at this place it happened and after paying more than I'd ever paid for a laundry service before. In addition I'm not sure they used soap in my loads. Melissa is amazing!!!! A we take bedding and pillows to her every year when we open and close the house and she does a fabulous job. The comforters are fresh and folded and the throw pillows look brand new. And she has even come in on her day off to assist us. read more

Stopped here to do laundry on vacation. The staff are super friendly and the laundromat is very clean. Their dog is super cute too!
