I wasn't there to do a long session, so I got a couple tasters, one including Peche Mortal and the other a NEIPA. Two very different styles and both extremely well done. Beyond that, the space had a very old-fashioned look. Really nice wooden fixtures and a very warm, welcoming vibe. The server was also attentive and friendly, but also knew when to let people sit back and enjoy their drinks. You probably don't need me to tell you, but yes, you should go.

B and I ended up sitting outside on the benches that were setup. It was somewhat romantic with the hanging lights. The benches were in a good layout so it didn't feel like it was too crammed etc. Definitely a great place to have a gathering with friends on a hot day. Server was very friendly. B said the beer was pretty good. He said it was not too hoppy and yes it was definitely better than most craft brewery from BC (where we are from). He was impressed. He said he would go back for sure. I have to say Montreal has some really good craft brewery and you know that they don't cut corners like many of the craft brewery back home in BC that is why their flavor is much more apparent and the beer itself is less hoppy.

Outdoors seating can be a miss for me sometimes since restaurants don't always include seating to fit a wide variety of bottoms but Vices et Versa nailed it! There were small wooden chairs and also long bench/pew seating as well as some smaller standalone benches. Perfect. The beer list was excellent - you already know I got the sour and my husband got a framboise. I knorrrr! My tarty fruity sour vibes are finally starting to wear him down muahahahhaha Ahem. Anyway. Food: I got the bacon burger with fries. He got the spicy chicken thigh sandwich with fries. Let's talk about those fries. Crispy outside, pillowy inside. Yeeesssssss. And Montreal serves them as they should be done - WITH MAYO!! The waiter even took one look at the half full mayo cup that came with my burger and said he'd top it off for me. He gets it. He gets me. I know this place must be rocking on a weekend - if so - 100% worth the wait. Fantastic. On street parking is plentiful compared to other parts of the city. The Francesco was a sweet beer that had a very nice vanilla flavour and a good mouthfeel, but was not overly heavy. The Ginette was a perfect combination of sour and hoppy. Both were fairly low on alcohol, which is helpful when you want to try different options! I thought their house beer was so good that I wished they had more of their own options on tap! I did not realize at the time that they were affiliated with La Succursale. The atmosphere was nice - lots of people enjoying their Friday evening. I really liked the wood bar. We didn't try any food, so I cannot comment directly on that, but the dishes looked good based on our view of the kitchen window.

With so many other options in the area and the fact that they will not even allow me to tie my dog up to the outside of the patio so that he'd be sitting beside a planter and nowhere near people or the serving staff, I will spend my money literally anywhere else in the neighbourhood.

Atmosphere/Appearance: The entrance is kinda off the beaten path and the restaurant is located under what looks like some sort of laboratory. Once down the stairs you're greeted by what feels like an underground speakeasy vibes! There's exposed copper ventilation pipes, exposed warm lightbulbs, raw concrete, wood and quite a few places to sit. I sat at the bar on the metal chairs like all pros do! But off to the side is a set of stairs which leads down to the ACTUAL BREWERY where all of the beer is made! I loved that there were windows in which you could look out of to see the giant vats. Really cool. Service: Dany at the bar took excellent care of me and there was nothing more I could've asked of him. He was attentive, fun and made sure I enjoyed my time there. Food/Drinks: First up I started with their Brew Juice, a beer made right in-house. It was their "beer smoothie". It was sweet, filling, thick, sour and crazy flavorful! Tasted nothing like a beer at all. My first appetizer was the Bacon Jerky which is thick-cut bacon in a beer maple glaze, chili seasonings, sesame seeds and green onions. It was mildly sweet, salty, savory, thick, tender and really, really good and not what I was expecting given the name. My 2nd beer was the Double Goose. This one was deliciously sour, gentle, not too sweet at all or harsh. For my entree I went with their special that was written in chalk on the board! I was the Sandwich of Duck & Lamb. The salad on the side was GREAT! Good bitter greens with rich, robust dressing. The chips the sandwich also came with were seasoned well and had an excellent spicy mayo dipping sauce. Sandwich was GREAT as well! Bread was softer than expected. Rich, buttery flavor. The 2 meats were light and worked well together. The sandwich is called "Sandwich Au Lapin De Cannard", but "lapin" translates to rabbit. Warm, cheesy, comforting, filling. Lil' cajun flavor. Caught a bone or 2 while eating it. It happens. Value: It's a brewery that actually serves food and that's always a plus! All prices are in $CAD. My first 12 oz. beer was $8.75. My 2nd one was $9.00. The bacon jerky was $10.00 and the sandwich with salad and chips was $26.00. Extremely reasonable if you ask me. In conclusion, I really enjoyed my time here at Pub BreWskey and I would surely pay this place another visit. Beers rotate all the time so what I had may not even be around by the time you visit.
