The servers were efficient, friendly, helpful and not over the top. They had comfy furniture, toys for the kiddies, and real dishes. I hope I will find more opportunities to be in Grand Coulee in the morning. If you are in town needing food and coffee, get your buns up there!

We've been coming here for four years to visit family and never realized this place existed. After growing frustrated with the other coffee shop on the main drag, we searched for nearby options and were relieved to find this one open. Overall, Voltage Coffee House was a much better experience. You could actually taste the coffee in the drinks, which was a nice change. The gal who took our order was friendly and greeted us with a smile, which added a welcoming touch. The two baristas preparing the drinks seemed a bit disoriented and unsure with some of the orders, so I was pleasantly surprised when the drinks came out just right. The ambiance of the café felt a little scattered--it didn't seem like there was a consistent theme--but the space definitely has good bones and the potential to be something special. One small thing I appreciated was that they don't put the lids or straws on your drinks for you. It's a simple but thoughtful touch that I personally prefer. We'll definitely be back.

On…read moreour last two trips, we stopped by the Spillway Bar and Grill--mainly because of the limited dining options in the area. The first visit, we had the chicken strips and fries, which were decent. However, when we returned yesterday and ordered the same thing, the quality had noticeably declined. The fries tasted like they were cooked in old oil, and both items had an unpleasant aftertaste. This morning, we decided to give it one more try for breakfast. The staff had mentioned their breakfast was the best around, and again, with few other choices, we figured it was worth a shot. We ordered the breakfast burrito to share, since it was a hefty $15. Good thing we split it--the portion was enormous, definitely too big for one person. While the burrito was packed with ingredients, it was unfortunately very bland and lacked any real flavor. The ambiance was alright, but several tables had leftover food and hadn't been cleaned. This stood out because there were at least three staff members walking around, and it wasn't busy at all. It gave the impression that cleanliness wasn't much of a priority. Aside from the friendly staff, this place just doesn't deliver when it comes to taste or attention to detail.

We tried two of the breakfast cocktails; I'll just have one, and the espresso spritz. Both were fun and really good but I think we all preferred the I'll just have one. It was fruity and refreshing! The espresso spritz was good, it was bubbly which was different than a classic espresso drink but it kind of worked! For breakfast we had the berries and brioche (4/5), bacon bialy (4.5/5), salmon bialy (4.5/5), and all of our favorite, the brunch grilled cheese (5/5!!). All the plates were delicious but the brunch grilled cheese really stood out to us! It was so unique and flavorful! The bread and cheese are already great, but the bacon wrapped around it plus the mapley sweetness on top just makes it great! Would definitely recommend! I will definitely be visiting next time I'm here!
