The large is definitely large so be prepared! My husband loved every last sip and would have ordered another one if he could have! I ordered the medium and actually finished it, it was that good! The complimentary chips are fresh and warm, salsa is perfectly spicy and the slaw stuff is very tasty. For entrees, hubby got a combination plate with an enchilada, chimichanga and chile relleno. It was a ton of food and all of it was delicious! I ordered the Camerones la Crema and couldn't finish the whole plate, it was huge! So many shrimp! The food came quickly and was piping hot with tons of flavor and cooked perfectly. It's okay. I forgot to get pics of the menu. The food came out fast but not hot. We all loved the cabbage that came with the chips and salsa. My Chili Relleno came wrapped in an egg and not deep fried like i'm used to but i wasn't mad about it. The super burrito was massive and definitely enough for 2. They were very accommodating for my son with a wheat allergy and used a corn tortilla for a kids chicken burrito. We've been visiting Grand Coulee for the past four years to see family, and during that time, we've stopped by this place a handful of times. Each visit has felt a little less impressive than the last. Overall, it's an okay spot--mainly because it's one of the few options available in the area. If there were more choices in town, I likely wouldn't pick this place. The food has always been hit or miss--sometimes decent, other times not--and there's a definite lack of consistency. Customer service could use some improvement. The same man has taken our order every time. He started off great--friendly and attentive--but in more recent visits, he's come across as burnt out or disinterested. It really impacts the overall experience. read more

Putting on a review because we almost didn't try this place from some of the more recent reviews we found on line. There is nothing about our experience that I would remove a star. The menu is extensive but exactly what one would expect from an establishment in this location. I had the carne asada and bacon wrapped prawns and everything was cooked excellent and delicious. The house margarita on the rocks was large, not overly sweet, and hit the spot after a day on the river. Went with my son and wife and the staff was attentive and friendly to everyone on all accounts. It's a medium size family restaurant that isn't overly loud. What a treat! Today is Monday and when all other restaurants were closed Rio Grande was open and ready to serve. Not only did they help with recommendations, but very attentive to a large group with kids. This was fresh food, soft tender rice, an amazing Carnitas taco plate, and fresh cabbage salsa to go with the chips. Of course the regular red salsa was with the chips and it was good too. This place is fantastic for your family and a great treat while traveling in the area. Did I say they were nice and friendly, well they are and they kept thanking our group for coming in. This was the first time trying out Rio grande, it's been open for awhile but never tried it out until today and enjoyed it. There's not alot of places to eat on a Sunday here in grand coulee and thankful they were. We ordered the fiesta Platter and 2 tall coke bottles and the price wasn't bad. Platter came with nachos, chicken taquitos, hot wings and mini quesadillas and it was all very good. I especially loved the hot wings as I like breaded wings over sauce and it also came with chips and salsa and if the salsa was a bit hotter I would've liked it as it was mild to me but that's personal preference. Overall I'll be ordering or even dining in as I have literally complaints and good job to Rio grande in coulee dam and if you haven't been there go check it out. read more

As incredible as the food is, there is a spectacular view of the grand coulee dam from their gigantic wraparound patio. My party of 7 had a variety of food mostly vegetarian. The chimichangas, burritos, and chile rellenos were outstanding. They greet you with crunchy fresh chips, coleslaw and salsa. All the food tasted super fresh, not greasy or salty - but yummy and fresh. The restaurant has kind employees who check on you often, is clean, has a lot of seating for the spot they are in. It also has outdoor dining. I absolutely love the food. It is so fresh and my family always wants to eat there. The menu has all the things you would expect for a Mexican restaurant.. They also can make enchiladas with a gluten free green sauce, which is nice and very good. The portions are large and perfect for me. They have a really good ice tea and other drink options such as fountain, alcoholic, and bolted drinks. The food is bland at best, after ordering food was dropped off and never saw a server again, soda had a moldy taste to it (soda fountain was dirty) no chance to ask for a hot sauce or even asked if everything was alright or if we needed anything else. Overall, a pretty good place to stop. The food was good, but nothing particularly special or amazing. Their churros were really good though, definitely worth coming back just for those. Tasted homemade! The staff were friendly and the restaurant was clean. A good experience but nothing that really stood out.
