Saw the PA first, got scans and referred to Oliver for surgery. Dr. Oliver right off the bat decided I was lying and scoffed off everything I said, saying nothing was wrong with me because my scan was clear. I have never ended up in tears after a doctor until now. He was very arrogant and rude to me. If I could give negative stars it still wouldn't be enough. Finally saw another doctor, took 3 more painful months. He saw fluid on my eardrums in the first CT scan they did. He did a scope, which Oliver didn't, and saw the massive amount of post nasal drip. He told me the GERD meds and the nasal spray Oliver gave me wouldn't work on me,. I got a new spray and that day my post nasal drip was gone. I was in Coastal Harbor Treatment Center for 2 weeks, from 12.13.2019 to 12.27.2019. I was in the…read moreresidential 2 East girls' unit for self-harm. I was supposed to stay for half a year, but my "treatment team" decided to release me after 2 weeks because I believe they thought I was violent or self-harmed but in fact, I was not. The reason I was sent there, according to my mom, was refusal to take my medication and because I had a "bad attitude". I have anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, Tourette's syndrome, and ADHD, but I am not physically aggressive and I have no history of self-harm, despite what my mother says (she says she stopped me from self-harming, when in fact I stopped her from self-harming) When I was there, I had a very mediocre experience. When you first arrived, you were on "Precautions" for up to 10 days, I was on it for about 9. This meant you could not do any fun activities like recreational therapy and you ate meals on the unit. You could also not have any pencils or pens. This is nearly also the case if you get what they called a "Privilege Freeze", where they gave you no privileges for 7 days, Freeze was supposed to be for kids who were physically aggressive or self harmed but they instead gave them out because kids either talked to staff in a tone they didn't like or didn't get out of the shower quick enough. I got a Freeze for talking to a staff member about a complaint I had with the program. Said complaint was that we actually did nothing worthy of treatment. All we did was watch movies. I never went outside during my entire stay because they told me there was a "runaway risk". I also got threatened with Freeze 2 times; one time because I didn't get out of the shower fast enough and the other time because I was looking at the lunch menu "too long" during visitation time in the cafeteria. I was originally in the 2 West unit for physical aggression, but I was moved to 2 East my first day there. I had a full-on breakdown because I was scared and in an unfamiliar environment. I asked for a time-out, which they were supposed to give, but instead one of the MHTs there, who's name was Ms. G, pulled me by the neck and hair. I complained of feeling sick and feeling like I was about to barf. I had no appetite the first few days I was there, yet the staff laughed at me for barely eating anything. All the nurses gave me for my nausea was a pill that didn't even help. I actually did throw up, but the staff made me clean my puke up with a rag despite me feeling sick and dizzy. I was put in solitary for 1 hour because I said "What?" to a MHT when I did not understand something that they said. I had a full-on breakdown in that solitary room and the MHT who sent me there, I believe her name was Ms. Acia (AY-see-uh), did not do anything but scroll through her phone for that hour. In terms of communication, it was actually very good. You got a 10-minute long uncensored phone call every night. You were allowed to send mail. They had visitation in the cafeteria every day which lasted for about an hour and 30 minutes and it was uncensored and very nice. We did barely any treatment or groups. We had a "goals group" every morning, the only therapy group I could go to was once every weekday. The kids did recreational therapy (RT) every weekday but only people off of Freeze and Precautions were able to go. We had Bible studies once a week, but luckily that was optional. The only thing we did all day, outside of school, was watch movies. On one Sunday we watched 9 movies (I counted!). You met with your therapist twice a week, once for individual session and once for a family session. We could not have any personal effects in our room. Only clothes and a Bible. And despite being non-denominational, we were required to say a Christian prayer every morning. Education was very good. Mr. Jeff was my teacher, he had a good sense of humor and was a cool guy. Learning was on Odysseyware at our own pace. Overall I say the education quality was nice and it was in a way that I liked.

You had to put on a fake persona if you wanted to get out or they would make excuses for you to stay. Every morning they woke the children up at 6 AM for blood work EVERY DAY. Staff don't give a damn about the children. The wellbeing of the rooms is awful. Beds are rock hard and windows are bolted shut. The place is more of a prison in disguise than a place to help. If you child needs help do NOT go here please find a therapist or something else but the worst thing you can do is to throw your child away in a time where they need help instead of being by their side.
