History
Established in 2011.
In 1989, my father purchased a run down farm outside of Orangeville, Il. He saw the beauty others couldn't, and set about making this farm a beautiful place. Buildings were torn down or restored, two overgrown ponds became one, and the house gutted and remodeled. He was proud of his accomplishment, and loved sharing the farm with friends. Upon losing my father, I wanted to continue Dad's joy of sharing the farm with others. I decided to open his house as Memory Lane Crafting Retreat, a girls' getaway, where ladies enjoy crafting and friendship. Quilting, scrapbooking, stamping, and church group retreats are popular. Everyone that visits loves the beauty and peacefulness the farm has to offer. It's a great opportunity to experience the magic and charm of a farm, and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Our guests are intrigued with the events of the farm - whether it's making hay, spring planting, fall harvesting, or anxiously awaiting the birth of a foal.Plan your stay!
Meet the Business Owner: Patty H.
My family built our home on the farm and moved here in 2001. I helped my dad with the farm, raising cattle and crops until his death in 2010. Being a part of the farm for so many years, and knowing what the farm meant to my dad, I couldn't imagine anything but keeping the farm going. I am lucky to live in a farming community, with great friends and neighbors to help me with whatever I needed. They taught me to do the things my father always took care of, from how to run the hay mower and manure spreader, to growing a crop to sell in the fall. I am an animal lover as well. The farm is home to Blosom, our HUGE pet cow, who is a favorite among the guests of Memory Lane Crafting Retreat. I am lucky to have 13 POA (Pony of America) ponies, as well as Melvin the donkey. 21 barn cats also call the farm home. All strays that have found me, they are a great group, each with a unique personality and story. I have put my heart and soul into the this farm, and I love sharing it with others!
