I have shopped here for 15 years and spend around 30k annually with them. Always liked this store. Today I was treated like garbage by not one employee, but three angry old people that should have retired years ago. Today was also the day I opened a Lowe's card. Today, I went in to Menard's with my trailer to pick up 15 pieces of 8' long treated lumber. I paid for it inside and then drove around to the guard shack to pick it up behind the store. Everyone I talked to inside was very friendly and helped me out in several instances, but the security guy in the guard shack doesn't seem to follow that policy. When I pulled up, he opened the door a crack and reached out holding out his hand. I guess that means to "give me paperwork", in sign-language. I did that and he did his thing with the paperwork and then stuck it out for me to take it. I did take it and the only words out of his mouth were, "In the back wall". Well, I knew where the lumber was anyway, so drove off myself without even a grunt, (I give back exactly what I get). On the way back out with my load of lumber, the same thing happened; held out his hand, did his thing, handed me the little box for my signature, gave the little box back to him, and he went in and opened the gate for me to leave. Never was a "Hi, how are you? can I help you? what are you after? etc.", nothing at all. I'm certainly not happy with these actions, but in all honesty, I can't reduce the rating from my original 5-star. Just that I am not happy, since I am a very good customer here and deserve better than that. If it should happen again, the rating will need to drop off. I hope it doesn't. read more

Came in and got a quote on ordering countertops. Took quote home to show wife. I then called in With oder and estimate number to order and they said I would have to come in. No reason why beside just plain laziness. read more

I went in today 6-9-20 at around 6:00 pm to return a painters tool which I ended up not needing. Upon entering there was two girls working the front desk. A younger (don't know name) and an older one which I believe her name was Kim. I got to deal with the you get person first I told her I did not have a receipt but I did have the card I used to pay with. She asked for my ID I told her again I had the card but she did not care. I was upset after she was trying to do a no receipt return for store credit when I told her I had the card I used to pay. I walked out of the store and looked it up on the Menards website myself. I returned to the store and got in the other line. Immediate she went to the other cashier and whispered something while looking at me. Then she got on the radio and spoke in a very audible tone that "Now he's back and I don't know what to do." When I reached Kim I showed my duplicate receipt and it went on without a problem. Employees like the younger one are the reason people get upset they are lazy and don't care. To add fuel to the fire they speak about the customers in their presence. After she was on the radio another (bald) male employee was giving me dirty looks. If he had bothered to come and see what was going on rather than have a rude attitude he would have realized what the problem was. I'm writing this review because it isn't the first time I hear about issues with the front end employees at Menards stores. read more

Just recently bought a Lawn Mower from Menards for 390.00 and spent in my opinion more than I should have. The first time using it I realized the door clasp for the bagger was broke. Would not have known it was broke unless I used it first. They will not take the lawn mower back or exchange it because there was gas in it. They claim because it has gas in it they can't take it back. I said I would run it out of gas. Now I spent almost $400.00 dollars for a lawn mower I cant use without grass blowing in my face. Very disappointed in this store and management. Beware of what you buy when buying from Menards. Just because your offered a 11% rebate doesn't mean your saving money. read more

Went to Menards to get the stuff for the bathroom. Got it all home and opened the vanity. The door was pieced together in three pieces...different color pieces! It was scratched in several places and the drawers don't close all the way...there's about a 1/2 gap between the drawer and the vanity. Needless to say, this piece of crap is going back. So a male employee asks me if I need help. I am like sure this will be faster than searching by myself. Tell him what I am looking for, a specific type of pliers, and he looks at me like I am stupid and says" we don't care any of those". So I go over to the pliers and low and behold there they are the exact brand and type I mentioned. He could of said " lets go look at the pliers " or something like that but no. He had to treat me like I am some stupid woman that doesn't know what she's talking about. He can just be glad I didn't hunt him down and show him whose the stupid one! read more

I'm not too sure what has happened to the customer service here, it seems to have really gone downhill. I ordered a French door here and when it came in, it was swinging in the wrong direction, when we went to correct the order, I was told the correct door was going to cost $300 more. Since they did not properly listen to my request, the door should have just been swapped out for the correct one. I also ordered a new garage door and when I came in to pick it up, someone didn't secure it to the skid it was on. When the employee was using the forklift to take it off the top shelf, it fell and broke and had to order a new one, but no discount or anything was offered. My brother recently bought a whole deck and we were expected to go pick everything ourselves from the yard, they ended up helping after we had to ask multiple people and pretty much get laughed at. I also bought 2 of the vinyl temporary sheds, after paying for them, I realized they wouldn't fit in the vehicle I drove. I brought both of the boxes back in and asked the customer service if I could leave the cart there for a few minutes and she said yes and wrote my name down, when I came back to customer service after about 5 minutes, no one could tell me where my cart with my paid merchandise went. I waited for about 5 minutes for someone to figure out what was going on, it didn't seem like anyone was worried about it. I walked back to the shelf and someone had place my paid merchandise back on the shelf, I had to figure this out myself and put them on a cart and walked out of the door, no one questioned whether I paid for the merchandise or not. This place has really lost it recently. read more
