I purchase a variety of hardware and building materials and visit store every couple of days. I especially like their online app as lists all items they sell with inventory and location in store. 99% of their employees are very helpful and friendly. They have largest variety and inventory of construction materials in Garden City. I highly recommend!!! read more

I'm in the Garden City, KS Menards at least once a week. Occasionally there's an item in the tool & screw section that I can't locate. The manager is so helpful. He'll walk the isles trying to find the item or look on line to find out when it will arrive. Today, he helped me push a cart full of bricks. The store has great people working there. About two years ago, this store used to feel very different. I remember walking in and being surprised at how cold it was inside, sometimes even uncomfortably cold. Now, the complete opposite has happened; it feels extremely hot, almost like walking into a sauna, with temperatures that feel close to 90 degrees. It makes shopping here uncomfortable, especially if you plan on staying for more than a few minutes. They really need to find a way to regulate the temperature better, because the environment of a store makes a big difference in whether people want to come back. Prices have also gone up quite a bit over time. Of course, this isn't entirely their fault since prices everywhere have increased, but it does make shopping here feel more expensive than it used to be. On the positive side, they do have a large selection of items, so you can usually find what you're looking for. That variety is one of the main reasons I still stop by this location. As for customer service, it's a mixed experience. Some employees are respectful and helpful, but others seem to go out of their way to be the opposite of friendly. For example, on one of my visits, a worker accidentally hit me with his cart. Instead of apologizing politely, he brushed it off in a rude tone, which left a bad impression. Incidents like that might seem small, but they stick with customers and make the overall experience less enjoyable. In conclusion, I'd say this store is just okay. It has a lot of good products, but the comfort level inside needs major improvement, and management should take a closer look at customer service. A store can have all the variety in the world, but if the shopping environment is unpleasant and some staff come across as unfriendly, it takes away from the experience. With a few improvements, this could easily be a much better place to shop, but for now, I'd rate it as average. read more

The most unorganized place I've ever been to. They emailed to say our order was ready.... it wasn't. The person in the booth refused to help or give directions on where to go; I think her phone was more important. There were 4 people just sitting on fork lifts, doing absolutely nothing! read more

Biggest complaint is how they're handling the virus and wearing masks in store. They're basically taking the opportunity to cash in on people worried about the virus and forcing people to purchase some mask if they want to come in. read more

The store's female employees are pretentious and ill equipped to help customers. We have a business that goes through a lot of washers but we will no longer be purchasing them through Menards anymore due to their strict Mask requirements. I have exercise induced asthma so wearing a mask and walking through a store can be a trigger for me so I chose only to social distance during these times. Right as we were about to check out some short snobby employees came to say I needed to wear a mask. I explained my medical reason and they told me to leave... as I was about to pay and leave the store. My husband and I were deeply offended and decided to not purchase the washers and building materials. Our family's company will be using another supplier for washers now. I hope Menards is happy with their customer satisfaction during these times as it is driving a lot of money away. read more

This place is requiring you to wear a face mask to enter the store. They have a right to do that and I have a right not to shop there. I will not shop anywhere that requires masks. read more
