I'd like to give the cafe at Ward's Garden Center 5 stars because I had a fantastic lunch with unbeatable service. Really, the fajita wrap and cup of potato soup was delicious, and our server was really attentive even though it was lunch hour and pretty busy. To be fair, however, I must rate on the quality of my whole experience at Wards. I'm not sure where they get their puppies to adopt (or sell), but the puppy/kitten room was pitiful! There were only two puppies in the entire room, but instead of giving them their own space, both had to share a tiny cage. Granted they were both tiny puppies and the room looked pretty clean, but I believe there were better options for puppy housing. I intended to give this review 5 stars because the food was great and the service outstanding, but then I remembered the whole puppy thing and had to change my mind. read more

The cafe sucked! We were the only ones there when we arrived. I asked if they could do hash browns extra crispy and she said she would tell the cook that's what I wanted. Took FOREVER to get simple hash browns bacon and eggs and then the hash browns were mush. I must have made a face because the waitress asked and I said I wanted crispy hash browns and she then says, oh our cook can't do them that way. Next time tell thee customer that when they ask. After eating I was tired of waiting for a bill and my husband waited while I went to the garden center. I walked around for 20min and came back and the waitress still hadn't run our card. read more

It took one hour and 26 minutes to get our food. Two different tables got their food before us. They both ordered several minutes after we did. I would have liked to have tasted the food served hot but was not able to. We we're told our waitress was busy at the cash register and could not bring our food until she was done with the register. It was sad that the grilled ham and cheese sandwich had no ham. Then a cold piece of ham was added to try and correct their mistake. Cold food with horrible service might even fall short of the one star rating I gave them. read more

What a great find. We had a recommendation to eat here. Had a hard time finding it - wasn't looking for a garden center. But what a unique place to eat. Not fancy, but great food, especially for the price. People were real nice and friendly. Just a neat place to eat. I love the Café! It's really the only place in town for a decent wrap with your choice of tortilla or lettuce. My personal favorite item on their menu is the Chicken Bacon Ranch Sandwich. I like the fact they deliver for free. When I'm stuck at the office over lunch, its very convenient to have them deliver to me. The multiple sides and the soups are great. It's like having a nice home cooked meal delivered right to you. When I went in the first time to dine in, I couldn't believe how clean it was! The atmosphere was truly inviting. The wait staff is by far the friendliest I've encountered and I can't wait for the expansion to be finished (in case you're wondering what they're doing)! There's talk that it will open earlier for breakfast and that is great! There are limited places to grab breakfast and I'm excited that there will be one more! The price is very reasonable and my kids like the ice cream scoop with the kids meals! Pam does a great job managing the café! Mike is a very friendly owner and seems to genuinely care about his staff and business. With the variety of animals available we have purchased some of our hamsters from him and have always been happy with them and the accessories they offer. We love browsing their store because they have such a large selection of fence art and lawn decor. We have grown very attached to the commercial service they do for us at work. From snow removal to landscaping and cleaning our parking lot, these employees go above and beyond! I remember 2 girls who couldn't have been more than early 20's were out there in their snow suits plowing through the snow and seemed very determined despite freezing conditions. When I mentioned to them how sorry I was they had to be out there, they simply giggled and said "this is our job, we're fine"! Everyone who works here seems to love what they do! read more

Our family use to love going to Ward's. Family outings, lunches, and the friendliness of the staff. Now it is over crowded, full of young staff (who seem unable to use manners and actually work), our food wait was over 50 minutes!!!, this was not the first time we had experienced this here.
