Like the store but will not be shopping there again made big purchases and rebate was over 200.00 we did not receive called rebate company and they voided our rebate they said it was not returned or used we got nothing what a fraud very disappointed what a joke read more

Terribly disappointed by how this menards store is managed, i ordered online 9 trim boards that showed in stock to then receive a text saying they were out. I can see being off in your inventory by one or two but 9 ?? I called the manager to see if anything could be done to help with that issue and was faced by a person that clearly had no experience with customer service and did not try to find a solution to the issue. read more

Very surprised at the attitude of the person in the paint department that was helping me .( I use the word helping loosely).

I have shopped at this Menards since it opened. I like the wide variety of products and the decent prices. I especially like the rebates and the 11% off shopping specials they have. Finding an associate, and then finding an associate with enough knowledge of their products to help you out on a project has always been a crap shoot. Not many of them seem to be very knowledgeable. Over the last few months they have greatly remodeled this store. Finding things in the store in their new locations now can be a challenge both for me and the personnel working there. I really like what they've done to the yard. Most all of the products are now covered so you don't have to worry about loading up water logged products. In the past when I would go back to start loading my order within a few minutes usually an associate would come up and offer me assistance. I think they must have laid a bunch of them off to pay for the remodeling or something. The other day I bought a full pickup truck full of building materials. I went out back and loaded my entire order and nobody even so much as come up to say hello. In fact I only saw one employee out there and he was running a lift truck working on some other project of his own. I think if you have to load your entire order you should get some sort of discount shouldn't you? They are not advertised as a self serve lumber yard. Maybe I need to start shopping more at Big-L-Lumber. They are only a little more expensive and they load everything up for you. read more

I took delivery of an electric fireplace, and Was not informed it costs extra to have it delivered further than my driveway! and Cash. I had to struggle to get it in my house. Ended up removing it from box and bringing it in piece by piece. It says do not get it wet. It is raining and they want to leave it in my driveway. Is it just lazy delivery or is this really a policy? If so then your website should say no in home delivery. I paid them 20.00 to have them set it just inside the door of my garage.Menards delivery needs a major improvement. read more

I visited this location the other day with the intention of building a fire pit for my wife on Mother's Day. I did not receive assistance until I finally approached an associate, who did not seem very knowledgeable of the process. When we finally got the order placed, they asked me to drive around back to pick up my bricks. Not only did I not receive any assistance with loading, but my Suburban got a flat tire while driving through the lumberyard which later resulted in a blowout on my way home. I contacted management and was asked to submit photos to claims but have not heard anything back regarding the incident. The Ionia Menards has terrible customer service read more

I am unbelievably angry with this store. The lack of care and customer service is amazing. Placed a special order in early February. One 16ft handrail. After weeks of waiting for any update on shipping I looked into it. Menards response is for me to call the people making the hand rail.....in Canada. They gave me a shipment date of 15 March that it is leaving and when I called again later that week they confirmed it shipped on the 15th. Both customer service reps said average is 5-7 days once it's ships to getting to the Menards distribution hub then to the store. That next week I attempted to get more information by going In and speaking to an employee in back by the lumber yard. She called a manager, Ali, who said she would call and get me an update. I never heard from her to this date. I finally received a call on April 1st from Mike stating the special order arrived at the store broken and they were placing a reorder. Called today on April 2nd and Mike informed me it would more than likely be the same lead time as the first order, an additional almost 2 months. I informed him to just cancel and i get a "ok I'll do that" and just a simple "sorry" like no big deal. I only chose to go to this store because I didn't want to have to drive to Lansing or Grand Rapids for my needs. Now after this I will. It's a junk store with terrible management and even worse customer service. There are many great employees there but everything else added in makes this store a hard pass for me. I knew better than to trust this store, even spent multiple thousands on materials and tools and it burned me bad on this project. Thankfully their store is stocked full of pizzas and other groceries, they clearly don't care about home improvement. Go shop at the smaller hardware store near down town or make the drive anywhere else but Ionia Menards. Very disappointed. read more

This store is a joke, I will be making the drive out of town for my home improvement needs to avoid the frustration.

I have shopped at Menards - Ionia since they opened. I have overseen new construction and remodeling jobs, from dimension lumber to plumbing problems and have ALWAYS been treated, from the assistants to the general manager, in a very courteous, knowledgeable and helpful manner. My projects are smaller, and I'm not a contractor, but I'm always treated like I was one of the most important person in the store. Add in competitive prices, quality products and 11% Rebates- - What's not to like??? read more
