He didn't seem interested in anything I had to say about the condition of the guitar...I was deemed guilty of neglect. Although I am not an instrument repair person, I have been playing for over 40 years and know a bit about the care of instruments. He gave me three different repair scenarios ranging from extremely minor to ripping out the frets, re-planing the fretboard and of course a re-fret. But I was also told that he is not taking on any new work at the moment (fair enough). I immediately upon leaving took the guitar to a guitar builder in Reigelsville Pa. and was told that a $40.00 fret dress to allieve the sharp fret edges was all that was required. No neck issues. Plain and simple, I did not feel very welcome at Mike's store.

Paid to have a guitar repaired there. Was told it was fixed and the issue was not actually…read moreaddressed at all. The issue was that one of the pickups was quiet in the middle position. I was told when I went to pick it up that they couldn't find anything wrong other than a small piece of metal that they removed must have been cutting the sound out (did not test the guitar in the store just took their word). Come to find out, when I got it home, that the issue is the switch and that both pickups don't come on until the switch is midway between the middle and bridge position...you would think that when paying for a repair this is something they would figure out easily. Complete waste of money. I also asked them to take a look at a fret-buzz and they fully forgot so that was also somewhat annoying (I paid for a setup and repair). Guitar was exactly the same when I got it back down to the same exact fret-buzz. I was so dissatisfied that I refused to even drive back there to get a refund. Ultimately, untrustworthy. I believe whoever did the "repair" was deceitful to me. Now in all fairness, this was a few years back and the same people may not be working there anymore...I just thought of it again when I had to repair the exact same issues myself.

The girl at the desk showed me the two pendants they had available. Plus when I asked them if they had some sort of cord for it, she offered me satin or leather. (I went with the leather just because my sister will be wearing this daily. But still good to know you have options!) Then she boxed it up while I looked around the rest of the store. The only thing I didn't like was that she told me the cord was in a small plastic bag inside the box, and when I went to check the length of cord (to make sure it was long enough), I noticed it wasn't in a bag, and of course she tried to correct herself. I just don't understand why you would lie about something like that...it wasn't a deal breaker, but just thought I'd mention it.

I called them on it after seeing it on my cc statement. no big deal I thought, these folks are cool. They lost it for a bit but will make good on it. Not so. After trying out a bunch of instruments she decided she wanted to try the drums. They were doing a 3 month trial for $40 to see if your kid liked playing the instrument so we signed up. About a month and a half in our daughter decided it wasn't for her and we canceled the membership and we're told just to leave the drum in the music class at school. This was in late November/ early December. Fast forward about 3 months to mid April I see on our statement that we have a recurring charge on our card since February for about $40 a month. At this point we were at home in lock down for the pandemic and had no way of checking the school or anything for the drum. We were finally able to talk to someone at the music store in June and let them know the rental wasn't canceled in their system but they would stop it at that point but not refund the charges since February. Not sure how many parents have to deal with this but it would be nice to deal with a "family" company that had a bit more understanding of a special needs student and how things can get lost in communication. Anyway the drum is still at the school I'm assuming at they keep sending us monthly bills. Update, they emailed me a confirmation that the drum finally made it back into their warehouse on 7/23/2020 and on 8/8/2020 they charged us for a new rental fee as if they didn't receive the drum.
