I approached one of the Asst Managers there and asked him about different wines that I was interested in buying. Beware the box police. I spent over $25 on merchandise and politely asked the cashier if I could take some boxes. The cashier said yes. I grabbed five and headed out -- only to be stopped by the manager, who informed me there was a limit of four boxes. What I should have asked was: is that four boxes per day, per person, per week, per month, per year... or per lifetime? Does the box policeman track these numbers, I wonder?? Last weekend I took five without any issue, so clearly the box police were off duty. His tone was curt, too, which didn't help. I need the boxes for a short-term project, so this is not something I do every week. Thank goodness. Fortunately, there are plenty of other liquor stores in the area. I will never come back here ever again. Which, is a shame because they have a great selection and prices are reasonable. I found what I needed by myself, nobody ever offered me assistance or asked if I needed help finding anything. Once I made my way to the registers the first cashier rudely refused me saying that it was her time to go on break. Second cashier was fake nice, but I was definitely made to feel like I was bothering her by my mere existence. An elderly woman walked up to the cashier (who I was in the middle of an active conversation with) and the cashier shushed me so that the interrupting elderly woman could be addressed. Cashier excused it by saying "oh when you're old you can do whatever you want". My reply was "She's certainly old enough to know better and to show common courtesy. But don't worry about it, I'll never be coming back here ever again." The cashier said "oh well". I legit almost just walked out. But I paid for my items and left without saying another word. I went to this store this morning. There was barely any customers in there. I picked up a couple bottles of wine and then went to the front to cash out. I stood at the sign that said please wait here and while waiting for one of the 3 employees that had nothing going on to call me up to cash out, two of the employees are talking to each other and go "I guess they're all dumb today, there just gonna look at you and not come up to cash out." When I went to cash out with the blonde lady, she was snarky and rude the whole time, at the end she aggressively put my receipt in my bag when I had my hand out for the receipt and I told her to have a nice day and she just looked at me. This store has horrible customer service and extremely rude staff. read more

Great selection, TERRIBLE cashiers. I get working at a liquor store probably isn't all that but at least pretend to care about your customers. Rude tones and dismissive attitudes towards anyone who bothers them with a question. If you hate your customers why not quit instead of alienating them? read more

The staff here are friendly and the wine selection is very diverse. Every time I come here they always have what I'm looking for. This is my place of choice for good wine and I come here pretty frequently read more

Wanted to share the great experience I had today in regards to service. While browsing through the craft beer as I usually do and which admittedly can take me quite a long duration of time, I was approached by the Zach, who I believe is a manager at the store. He asked if I needed help which I stated I was all set as I typically find myself to be rathe knowledgeable of what I'm looking for. What Zach ended up doing rather than quickly walking away or just trying to steer in one direction that I was resistant to, is causally pointed me in the direction of some similar recommendations based on what I was already holding, and just doing casual beer-nerd talk which I always am game for. Overall he was just very personable and not overly pushy, understanding that I wasn't prepared to buy everything that was thrown at me, but also that I may likely comeback if not made to feel uncomfortable. I feel as though if the job is to sell beers then he certainly succeeded as I did end up grabbing a couple more single beers than I originally intended. So if you go to Mendon Wines and More and are looking for some beers, ciders or seltzers, go chat it up with Zach, he will point you in the right directions! read more

Black Friday means the yearly release of Bourbon County Stout. Fans of this awesome craft beer scramble to ensure they don't miss out on before gone till next year. Most every store has a one bottle limit due to the popularity and limited inventory. I was able to track down several bottles across the area and was excited when I called Mendon liquors to learn they had some available. Now the four bottles I purchased were between 9-10 dollars at four different locations. When I arrived at Mendon liquors I was stunned to see they were charging 17.54 a bottle. This is a clear case of gouging, I'm a fan of supply and demand but this was outright a slap in the face to its customers. I live in Cumberland and do shop here occasionally and the best way to protest my displeasure is with my feet and my wallet by shopping elsewhere. This is just bad business. read more
