This place has some really cool and unique items of clothing that you won't find anywhere else. Pricey as all heck, but it is vintage. The sales person though, this guy is cheerful enough but he redefines the very idea of a pushy salesman. You can't really browse the store without him pulling something off of the rack and getting you to try it on. I might have been inclined to stay longer and buy something, but this guy is just too intense.
My wife pointed out a toy teddy bear on the top shelf, sitting on a rocking chair with a pipe in its mouth. A cute looking toy bear representing the stereotypical habits of an elderly gentleman. The conversation with the sales person quickly steered to smoking. It was the sales persons opinion that smokers were "nothing more than filthy addicts" and that "nicotine was a drug." Fair enough, I said, but then I asked "Do you drink alcohol?" "Well, yeah" he responded "but I'll only have a beer, say, with a meal." Interesting how the human race will always justify their actions while criticising others. read more
