However that top floor is not really enclosed so sometimes you can hear children squealing even when you are on the first floor. There's a mid sized computer area, all with cubicles pointing in one direction, like a classroom kind of. There's a digital media section as well as a teenager section. There are No specific quiet study areas. There are not that many places to sit and study, there is a shortage of power outlets. I came in one day at opening time and for quite awhile the two employees at the circulation desk were discussing their evening at full volume so I could hear them from the other side of the floor. Also, the bathrooms are in a pretty inconvenient location, which matters for me to stay there all day. The good: it's still reasonably quiet usually. The clientele here is nice, I don't have creeps staring at me. The parking is pretty good. Overall, it's still one of my choice places to study when visiting my mom- but it is not premium for the purpose of quiet study.

The last time I visited this library branch it was pre-COVID to see my favorite author speak. COVID…read morestill exists (I dislike saying its over) but since it's improved, author talks have resumed. I was delighted to see them again bring back my favorite author to celebrate the release of their new book. I think the staff is going through some pains deciding how to handle flow at author events in the improved covid era. There was a lot of confusion around the formation of lines with no clear instructions given. But again, I hold a lot of empathy for trying to navigate this new world we live in. So please, be patient with the staff if you attend an event here in 2023. The overall point is that author talks are back and it's delightful. The library still has ample parking, is as clean as a whistle, and doing its best to bring us free programming and support our love of reading. I am always so grateful for the breadth of programming CCPL works so hard to put on!

It is bright and airy and has convenient rest rooms! But I just can't. The quiet study room is a glassed in room with cubicles around the edge, it is pretty quiet. A great number of homeless people come to this library to charge their phones, warm up, hang out, Etc. Yes, they have just as much a right as anyone else to use the library. However what I saw was them come in with their belongings in garbage bags and carrying sleeping bags. I was studying in the quiet room, over the course of the day homeless patrons came in and due to the small poorly ventilated enclosure I had to leave the study room. To be honest, they were fragrant. But also they are using the outlets to charge their phones, text, and sat around reading comics. It's a bit distracting. I sat at a table outside the study room and find that there are rules glued to all the outlets, that they are only for laptops and a bunch of things not to do. Just as there was in the study room. This library runs a tight ship, but it seems it is because they deal with some rift-raft. The homeless gentlemen in the study room were courteous enough, quiet enough. However the reason I will not be coming back to this library is that when I went to study outside the quiet room on the third floor I was the source of many stares from men. It was incredibly uncomfortable. I was dressed very conservatively but I was stared at almost endlessly by men and they did not feel like friendly stares. Maybe there's a nice kids area- I don't know. But as a single female in her 20s looking for somewhere to study, I don't think I will be back.

All I can say is, WOW. The Euclid Public Library is beautiful with its open, airy, newer construction. Access to power at almost every seat from table tops to comfy chairs. This place has a lot to offer. Large DVD collection, a special children's area , a good size separate section for teens. For a freelance professional like my self, it offers wifi, power, and spacious setting. There are even quite rooms, if you need perfect silence. We are in Cleveland every two weeks. James Garfield was one of the Ohio presidents and he was assassinated in his first year in office…read more His house in Mentor is the one where he lived and from which he ran his front porch campaign for presidency in 1880. You start your visit at the visitor center. There you can check in for a visit in the Garfield house which is only accessible with a free guided tour. While waiting, you can explore the exhibition about President Garfield's life and visit the gift shop. President Garfield's life is an American rags to riches story. His father died when he was two and he was raised by his mother in poverty. For this he was mocked and bullied, which made him very sensitive. He left home at age 16 and went to work on a canal boat in Cleveland, managing the mules. In 1858 he married Lucretia Rudolph, and they had seven children, five of whom survived infancy, four boys and a girl. Therefore, the family needed a big house, and in 1876 Garfield purchased the Lawnfield estate in Mentor and its house, which was expanded and restored many times both during his life and after his assassination. The house has since been restored to its original color. On the property you can also visit his 1880 campaign office, which was originally his library, and see the windmill, which pumped water into the faucets, bathrooms, and laundry rooms of the house. The beautiful house is a remarkable and great part of the Ohio and American history. You also enjoy the original decoration and furniture of the house. The dining room is set as a replica of the festive dinner the Garfield family ate to celebrate the news that James had been elected president. When you are in the area, remember also to visit the James A. Garfield Memorial at Lake View Cemetery in Cleveland.

Today, thanks to a…read morewonderful tour provided by Victor, a ranger with the National Park Service, I can now not only say that I know much more about him, but also that I would have voted for him as well. I learned a lot about politics in the late 1800's. Things have certainly changed. The James A Garfield National Historic Site is a treasure trove of history. The home is fabulous. Thanks to a generous 1934 gift from the Garfield children to the Western Reserve Historical Society, we can see the home as it looked when the Garfields lived there, complete with original furnishings and artwork. Transferred in 1980 to the National Park Service, we now can all enjoy this amazing home and its history by taking a tour. Lucretia Garfield was an extraordinary woman ahead of her time. After her husband was assassinated, she created a memorial library in the home, to preserve his books and presidential papers. The library included a fireproof vault to protect important documents. I loved the architectural details, coordinating wall paper, light fixtures, and the thoughtful touches that turned the lovely house into a home. I'd have happily paid for this excellent tour, but it was FREE. Honestly, I could go on and on. Definitely RECOMMENDED!

I grew up going to this library every 2 weeks for as long as I can remember. Mrs. Ferguson, the children's librarian, was my best friend. Whenever new books would come in, she would put them aside and save them for me so I would be the first one to read them. As I got older and my tastes changed, I still would go to her for suggestions. My first job at the age of 16 was as a page at this library. There are 3 libraries within this system: Willowick, Eastlake, and Willoughby. Willowick is my favorite. The circculation ladies all know me by name, and always greet me with a smile when I come in. The thing I love about this place is that it's connected to CPL and Clevnet, which means I can get pretty much whatever I want, delivered to my library of choice, within 3-5 days. DVD's, CD's, ebooks, everything under the sun. The Willowick Library, in particular, is extremely organized and friendly. Plenty of computers to use, helpful reference staff, and a nice sized parking lot. It's close enough to my place of employment that I can go there on my lunch break and pick up the materials that I've ordered. Their website is easy to naviagte and connects to the main catalog at CPL. They email you when your stuff has arrive, and then email you two days before it's due. This place gets two thumbs up from this bodacious bibliophile!

I dropped by this afternoon to pick up and return books (so very convenient to pre-order and pickup). The library has two floors. The first floor has checkout desks and some book collections. Notable parts of the first floor are Meeting Rooms, printers, Large Print Books, and passport services (the latter super convenient). The second floor has additional book collections, reference desk, some meeting rooms, computer lab, and book shop. The book shop has cool sales every months with $5 fill the bag specials. Collections at the library are very versatile, you can find all kinds of books. The library hosts a lot of events that are accessible for booking on the library's website. The library also has onsite herb garden, which is pretty amazing. It's a wonderful space for the community. Parking is located in the back of the library with ample amount of space available. At the front there's a connecting pedestrian bridge to another parking lot. I highly recommend a visit, it's a very serene location!
