This place was a huge surprise. The food was just amazing. Everything hit the mark. Excellent flavors and proper portions. Super and attentive staff but not overbearing. Cool vibe and food music. Can't go wrong. Highly recommend

Meh. Nice place would be great to go here on a Friday or Saturday day evening when I have my DJ the food was just OK. Service was excellent though.

Lachta dessert- if you order dessert get this one. Inside the cake is warm chocolate with salt on top.

Food was delicious. I had 2 cocktails which were fantastic (rosy and the stand-off). I grabbed a few of the mezzes. The hummus was really good, you have to buy pita separate though for another £2.50. The kebabs were 2 small lamb kebabs, delicious but small. The stuffed peppers were delicious, there were 4 stuffed peppers. By far the best thing was the lachta chocolate dessert with the olive oil ice cream- like a lava cake. It was soooo good. Overall, It is a little on the expensive side for the size you get, but very tasty.

Amazing Greek food with a modern twist. Sat at the chefs counter and watch food prepared in an immaculately clean kitchen. Bravo!

the meal was accompanied with glasses of greek wine which the sommelier helped out with, also (surprisingly to us anyway) excellent.

Maybe my friend over-sold it and got my expectations up too high, because I was pretty disappointed in this dinner. We were asked if we wanted still or sparkling water. We said still and were brought out a £4.50 bottle. I know it's common to charge for water in Europe, so I didn't think much about it until I noticed that everyone else around us had refillable glass bottles -- free tap water that we were never even told was an option. We were seated downstairs at a large communal table. I don't necessarily mind that, but it was so loud that having a conversation was very difficult. My cocktail was delicious, but so tiny. The wine list was decent -- a good mix of options at various price points. As for the food, it was very hit or miss. The mushroom starter and the pork main dish were delicious. Unfortunately, the two most expensive dishes were disappointing. The prawns had great flavor, but a strangely soft, mushy texture. For me, the flavor made the weird texture okay, but my husband couldn't get over the mushiness of the shrimp and hated this dish. The sea bream was very bland and dry -- highly disappointing for the most expensive item on the menu. We ended on a high note with the affogato dessert (Yum!), but for such an expensive meal, there were just a few too many misses for us.

I loved the feel of the place. Small but generous in personal space. Extra effort was made to make sure our party of 6 were comfortable. And the food was delicious. The welcome pre dinner treats such as olives, radishes, and peppers were delightful. Then came the hummus--best I have ever had. The king prawns were simply cooked and wonderful. Everything was so fresh! The calamari, the Greek salad. All excellent. The entrees our party enjoyed included lamb, chicken, spanakopita, falafel, and so much more. If I lived in the area, I would frequent the place. I even commented to my wife that I could see myself landing at LHR and making my way straight to Aphrodite!

But our host was the most pleasant man and fished out items from the kitchen that weren't only vegan but also delicious! To begin with, even without ordering anything, pitas, flava bean salad, and olives, which, by themselves, more than hold their own. The falafels are one of the best I've tasted in London. And the hummus was unbelievable. For mains, the dolmades were excellent. Even the roasted potatoes that our host offered, and which weren't on the menu, were amazing. Overall, the chefs and hosts at the Aprodite Taverna take real joy in feeding people. And I'd definitely go here again: for the food as well as the service.
