Mexico is so full of life and colors!! This comes more to life in Mercado 60 in Mérida. Went there with the husband to try some Mexican must haves including the chilaquiles and a taco platter. There are options from other cuisines as well such as pizzas and gyros to choose from. The food tasted great, so much so, that we went back for some American food the next night. The ambience is like any food markets with great live music and let's of people chatter. I would recommend this place in case you are bored with Mexican street food!

This place is awesome! We came back twice during our few days in Merida. It's open air, food court style but with a fun, hip vibe (the first time we went, it was dark and everyone working there was dressed up for Day of the Dead, and the second time there was a live band playing) and upscale semi-gourmet food. They have everything from burgers to sushi to ribs etc but we stuck with the Mexican food (which is what I suggest doing) and had the most amazing quesadilla I've ever had (it had chicken and peppers and was grilled on the outside - look for this one as there are many here) as well as great guacamole and tacos. A fun, casual spot that's great for a group!

Man, I have such mixed feelings on the location. The setup and gathering of different options was amazing. Sadly, the food quality and flavor were really lacking. We visited for dinner one evening while on vacation. We sat at a table and a server grabbed us drinks. The prices were higher if a server got you the same item you could have grabbed yourself. How that works was not clear. I stopped at the burger spot in the back and the burrito place. I dont recall the particular items we ordered, but I do recall that neither of them had much flavor. The food looked good, but lacked flavor and seasoning. The location was great and it seemed like a really modern and trendy spot, but the prices were higher than normal for the area. I would return and sample other food items from different vendors, but would skip the burger and burrito spot.

Costillas (ribs) from Poncho & Chel's. Absolutely delicious.

Updating my review for several reasons. I like the general ambience here but the quality of food has dropped severely and this reflects my experience as a whole. Firstly, this is supposed to be semi-gourmet food. In all reality, it's simply overpriced. There is nothing unique here, and the items offered by the various restaurants are less than exciting. Of the ones that seem exciting, it's all hype. I used to go here and enjoy quality food in the first year it opened. Now, it's fakeness. Of the three favorite places I had here, two are gone and the other has significantly lowered the quality of their product. The craft beer place is gone. There is an owner/manager who is always walking around micro-managing things and making it an uncomfortable experience. Only a fool would continue going here expecting something good - I won't be one of them. This was the last time I'll be going there. Poncho y Chel's should also be ashamed of themselves for using watered-down BBQ sauce (it used to be amazing, I've eaten there at least 20 times). They should also be ashamed of the pathetic parmasean cheese they use as a substitute for what was once fresh, and for the fact that their fries no longer have truffle oil but are still advertised as such. Mercado 60 in general is a fad. I know I'm not the first to realize that the quality has changed to something unacceptable. Clearly staying alive based on old reviews because there's really no reason to eat here anymore. It might be a good place to go if you enjoy a bad selection of overpriced drinks and occasional live music.

"Oh Croque!" Awesome beef bourguignon sandwich! Cheap and delicious Lots of other offerings and we'll be back

Sushi was good for fast service sushi.

We were in Merida for a week, and visited Mercado 60 three times during our stay. Fun and family friendly atmosphere. We had our 1yr old daughter and she loved the atmosphere:). The food was all good. The burgers were good, I ordered mine well done and it was still moist and well cooked. We were even surprised that the Bbcue was good too, tangy flavor, and the sushi was not the best we've had, but certainly was descent for fast service sushi. Fun bar options and desserts as well. I'm from California so for me, I had no issue with the prices they seemed cheap to us because well anything is cheaper than San Diego.

I would only recommend this place if you are used to McDonald's or Taco Bell. The quality is more or less fast food. The prices are Americanized. We had the pizza and burritos, both lack luster and we did not even finish. There are many better options please pick something else.

Mercado 60 is an upscale yet casual food court, with a large selection of different food - burgers, tacos, sushi, sandwiches, craft beer, cocktails, and everything in between. Get there early as it can be packed at night

His place is amazing. If you don't know what you want to eat stop by here. It's an outdoor venue tucked away. With over 12 unique food, beer, and dessert stalls all with its own flair. The food is amazing and the music sets the atmosphere for a great time.

Taqueria La Lupita - Congratulations on your victory! To the uninitiated, let's spend a moment on discussing the regionally renowned Cochinita Pibil. This is a slow-cooked pork dish, made as a hybrid of traditional Mayan and more modern New World techniques, much as its name is a hybrid of Spanish (cochinta = little pig) and Mayan (pib = pit-cooked) itself. Traditionally it's cooked while wrapped in banana leaves, flavored with spices (especially achiote) and left in an underground pit oven for a LONG time. When done properly, it's a juicy, tangy, savory, delight that can go in a taco, a torta, or whatever you fancy. Taqueria La Lupita does serious volumes of business, and a highlight is certainly their cochinita pibil. But, they are more than a one-trick caballo. During our extended stay, we visited TLL several times, and got to try both form factors (tacos, salbutes, panuchos, tortas, polcan) as well as meats (cochinita pibil, relleno negro, lechon al horno, escabeche). We still couldn't try everything, and certainly not every combination. But we sure loved our experience throughout, even for the items that were not notable winners. This place is popular for all the right reasons: Deliciousness, variety, service, value, experience. Even when it was a bit busy, they have a lot of tables, and we had really good service there. Don't get discouraged by a little wait time...it's the best option we found in Santiago Plaza/Market. Some places in Mèrida may have struggled to maintain their experience after being highlighted by Netflix or Youtube programs, but Taqueria La Lupita has stayed true, and we couldn't have been more delighted by our visits there. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Unfortunately, It was not worth the hype for me. Bland and hard tortillas. Not for me.read more

The filling had a unique mix of meat and cheese which was absolutely delicious! The mix of flavors were unlike anything I have had anywhere in the 27 states of Mexico where I have traveled. They were big and filling enough two was all I could eat. There are some tables if you can find an empty one (this place is popular among locals). The only reason I don't think it's great for kids is because of the location on the side of the road. It's very informal. Food is served on plastic plates covered with plastic bags. This is not a yuppie place, but has amazing food at cheap prices. Cash only. I would definitely go back for more!
