Portugal had so much colorful pottery and tiles. Just beautiful. I wish I could have bought some pottery but def no way to get it home. But came home with several cork products .. shoes and purses. I gather this area was a slave market at one point but now just shopping. The fish market was already closed which I would have loved to see. read more

First of all the place is small so you really need to make a reservation. I'm so glad I did. I am a solo traveler and they treated me like I was part of the family. They were so much fun and I can't say enough about the food the cat to Lena was so fresh and delicious. I got the shrimp and clams probably the best meal I had in Portugal! Will definitely return! read more

This small but mighty fish market is located along the water a few blocks from downtown Lagos. If I remember correctly it was once a slave market? This is a great spot to check out a slice of Lagos history along plenty of fish for purchase (and great photographs). We were really impressed by the variety of fish and enjoyed watching the locals fill up their bags. Upstairs you'll find several vendors selling regional goods like olive oils, peppers and so on. Head up to the top of the building for great views. read more
