The hygienists always take such good care of me when I'm due for a cleaning. They're very diligent about making sure your next cleaning is booked with them. Which i love so i can have it in my calendar ahead of time. Dr. Propes is a great dentist. He did 3 crowns on me and a couple filling. My teeth were a mess before i started going here. But he was so understanding and his staff was very easy to work with and helped me understand every step of the procedure. I'm very thankful they still take my insurance here! my girlfriend went here and she was so excited. she came back from the appointment and when i asked her how it went she wouldn't elaborate with me. i initially shrugged it off thinking the appointment went fine and she's booked in a couple weeks. when hours later she opened up to me and said she's hurt and disappointed because they were totally and completely rude to her! they told her mean things- she said they were rude to her until they found out she had the insurance to cover the cost and their demeanor completely changed and they started acting somewhat decent. she's going to be cancelling her appointment due to feeling unwelcome by the employees. do better! read more

I absolutely recommend Dr.Propes. I came to his office because I wanted my front teeth fixed I had struggled for years and was self conscious about my smile. He was very thorough and what I loved about the whole thing is I never needed pain meds or antibiotics after treatment. He fixed my smile and the lab they use to create your new smile is AMAZING! Dr. Propes is amazing. He's been my dentist for a while now, and has always said he treats his patients like family. Well, today he proved it. My two boys (3 and 5) collided, and my five year olds front tooth was not looking good. He was in pain and I didn't quite know what to do. I called Dr. Propes, and he said he'd stay after hours to work on my kiddo. When we got there it was just him and his assistant, and they were about as friendly as could be. They did a fantastic job explaining to my son everything that was going on, in a way a five year old could understand. I was looking for a new dentist in the Merced area and came across Dr Propes and decided to give him a try. The receptionist was awesome! She mailed me the patient information packet but when I lost it she was very understanding. I was given a tour of the office which I thought was a nice touch. My dental hygienist was super friendly and made my teeth feel amazing! Dr Propes went over my xrays and was very thorough. He is very friendly and made me feel welcomed! Afterwards I talked to the billing specialist and normally that conversation is very dry. She was absolutely a delight! I highly recommend this dentist, you will not be disappointed! read more

Do not go to this dentist if you value your teeth!!! I had gone in for a quick checkup and tooth pain. The staff was pleasant however I waited for 30 minutes in a dentist chair before he came in. He checked my teeth for 10 minutes without doing x-rays, then proceeded to tell me that it was my sinuses causing the pain. I waited 1 week before heading back to my old dentist which is out of town. Almost at once the dentist identified severe damage with a large crack and should have been easily noticeable. Due to Dr. Propes incompetence I ended up with a large bill and a great deal of pain. When confronted before going to my old dentist about the continuing and worsening pain I was asked to leave his office if I didn't trust his opinion. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! read more

I was referred to Dr Propes by a coworker for my 8 year old son who has a fear of dentists. My son thinks Dr Propes is wonderful and has over come his fears! After having a tooth pulled my son proclaimed excellent dentistry! Now my whole family goes to Dr Propes! As for the review by Okami I find her claims hard to believe. I have an irrational and debilitating fear of the dentist and in the past I have gone years and years with tooth pain because I'd rather eat ibuprofen and live on lukewarm broth than have someone stick their fingers in my mouth. I am so, so, so grateful that another dentist who couldn't handle my neurosis referred me to Dr. Propes because he has a lot of experience (and patience) working with cry babies like myself. He and his staff are the BEST. I never have to wait more than a couple minutes - which is good, because I'm a runner. They never try to make me get procedures I don't need and always show me my x-rays and hide the scary tools. Everyone is very sweet and I always feel safe - even when they put on those masks and I start crying uncontrollably. Thanks to Doc Propes and his crew (and their nitrous), I may actually get to keep these teeth and not have to get dentures by the time I'm 40! read more

I'm shocked at the other review. My daughter and I both use their services and are extremely happy with the results.I I have also referred 2 of my friends who were very happy with their services as well. I really can't imagine that he would offer an opinion without ex-rays. I find him to be very accessible and indeed, they do treat their patients like friends. My daughter had extensive work that needed to be done and it was scheduled and completed in such a way that we only had to pay about $85 out of pocket. The first dentist that she chose would have charged almost $1200 not including the $2200 that insurance paid for the same work and when she went for the first part, he didn't numb it sufficiently and caused her a lot of pain. The first dentist I went to spoke very rudely to me and couldn't keep his hands off the assistant. They respond well to questions, explain everything, show you photos, and thoughtfully come up with a good plan. I found the same for myself. Dr. Propes works quickly and efficiently and neither of us has ever had to wait over 5 minutes for anything. The person who cleaned my teeth did a very good job. In every way, they convey that they care about good dentistry and their patients. read more

Dr. Probes is the best dentist! I was referred to him by my orthodontist for a tooth implant. Long story short I switched over to Dr. Probes. He became my dentist and my son's. His staff is always friendly and I recommend everyone to him. I have had a handful of people switch over to him. Our family has been going to Dr. Propes for years. Everyone in the office treats us like a friend. I grew up with bad teeth and needed a lot of work.
