If your sending your child here beware they will try and give your child the wrong classes and say it's their fault and won't refund your money especially if your child may need help in some areas they will take advantage of them. They've done this to someone I know who paid 4 thousand for classes she wasn't suppose to have and shes a special needs student. The advisor just put her any random class the professors even said she wasn't suppose to be in them but never dropped her before the deadline line, so they dropped her after only 2 classes and say she can't get her money back when they didn't even prerequisite her academics. Came here for training at the conference center and was pleasantly surprised at how nice the campus was. When you first walk into the conference center, yup walk into the atrium which is set up with a bunch of tables and chairs. There are stairs to go up to the conference rooms. The rooms were clean and orderly. There was even a nice water bottle refilling station which I thought was great! My co-worker and I went to the student center as we heard there was a cafe there. The cafe had a salad bar, wraps, paninis, chicken fingers, pizza, coffee, etc. I had the chicken ranch wrap and for being campus food, it was really good! read more

I spent 6 years of my time and money at this college and received no benefit. Advisors aren't good, especially Michael DeAngelis. Some of the professors are great but it's of no use if no one can help you get a degree. The faculty are racist towards Indian Americans. read more

VETERANS, DO NOT COME HERE! This school is not military friendly and when I had an issue with my VA/GI Bill, the college promised me one thing to help me continue and then rescinded their offer. They told me to backpay over 30k in order to continue the program I was in. They will leave you out to dry with no remorse if the VA/GI Bill fails you like it did for me. Great community college and has many connects to 4 year colleges that credits easily transfer to. I loved all my professors in the plant science program and the tuition was very reasonable. It was a nice stepping stone into my college career. The parking is a little far away from the classrooms, but get there a little early for your class and you'll have enough time. I usually parked on the side by all the fields since the other side was packed all the time. I don't think many people knew that there was a whole other parking lot on the other side of campus. read more

If I had the opportunity to give this shit hole a -4 stars I would. This is literally the worst institution on the face of the planet and I guarantee you it is not worth your money. The financial aid staff are incredibly rude. They say that they didn't receive payments that they did receive and make you pull out your bank statements to prove that they made a mistake then give you an attitude when it comes to fixing it. Also if you plan on attending this school online forget about it. Nobody ever answers the phone when you call. Not your advisor, not financial aid, and definitely not enrollment. Majority of the teachers are extremely rude and hostile at this school. The curriculum sucks. And they are very unsupportive and unwilling to help. read more

Everyone wants to help you succeed with your time at MCCC and make sure you are ready for your next two years to earn your undergraduate.

The reviewer who wrote "it's not college, it's 13th grade" nailed it in one sentence. MCCC has a philosophy that college is for everyone, thus negating the entire idea of college (because in reality college is for some and not for some). It's analogous to giving everyone a trophy in a sporting event, thus making trophies meaningless. Most disturbing is the indoctrination, not education, that goes on, and to add a layer of insidiousness, many students have learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and/or cognitive/behavioral issues, which some instructors/professors take advantage of by having a definite political agenda. With neurotypical/higher ability students, the students can question the instructor, but many students at MCCC don't have those skills, so swallow just about anything instructors put forth, and there are some instructors with very bizarre and radicalized views. A lot of indoctrination happens in the English Dept., although there are some English excellent teachers who actually teach Critical Thinking. Some English teachers are upfront about their cause/agenda, and some aren't. On the positive side, MCCC is a way to save money on general ed. I generally believe in community colleges, but MCCC has a lot of room for improvement. The indoctrination issue and questionable instructors issue has been around for a long time: MCCC is aware of it, some progress has been made, but not enough. It is also not a place known for academic rigor; while you may save money before transferring to a university, you may flounder once there from being ill-prepared at MCCC. Even though the MCCC pricetag is lower than other colleges: caveat emptor, and you get what you pay for. read more

I've been to their conference center a few times for a counseling conference and have never had a negative experience. The lecture hall where the workshops are held is pretty big with comfortable chairs. In the lobby area they have a bunch of round tables with chairs and they usually set up breakfast in the lobby as well. There's also a separate dining area for lunch. Lunch is usually good, all depends on what entrees were chosen. All in all, good place for conferences with really nice staff. read more

I've only been to their Conference Center for training. They usually hold a lot of conferences and events in the center. The courses I took were really good. I bet their full curriculum education is great. The food is hit or miss, when it's hot food they serve, it's pretty good, selection of different types of BBQ, pasta, grilled or steamed fish. Their cold food sort of sucks: just sandwiches and some weird noodle, dessert is usually good and coffee is decent. I'd have no problem going back there for training again. Free wireless too.
