This issue was treated as a minor mother daughter squam. When I said that I was abandoned, Susan brushed it off and said I could have moved with her. I also wasn't very happy with the small talk and her tendency to talk about herself. After being with a different counselor that tackles my biggest issue every session I don't know how I ever thought Suzan was great in the first place. She is an incredibly nice lady but the sessions seemed rushed and danced around the real issues. I did not like that at all. I am grateful for some of the things we've talked about but it is just nice to talk to a counselor that will help me solve my REAL problems and not talk about frivolous issues.

I was a patient at Genesis for over a year. I saw two different therapists, Gene Baboula and Dan…read more(aoda Counsler.) I was also under the care of a N.P that prescribed my medications. My work with Gene was absolutely pointless and a waste of my time. I saw gene at least once a week and she never gave me any suggestions or taught me any coping skills to deal with my issues. I was briefly in an abusive relationship and Gene said that my ex-boyfriend was justified by everything he did. I asked her point blank many times for help and advice and all she would say to me is "it sounds like you have a lot of choices to make. It must be very stressful for you." I then asked if I could be switched to another counselor, because my time with Gene was wasted. I then started seeing Dan, who I absolutely adored. He was an amazing listener and gave me good feedback and was able to validate all of my feelings. I enjoyed my time with him. Unfortunately it was cut short because I left the Janesville area. My N.P is a wonderful woman and she is very caring and will go above and beyond for patients. I loved her.
