We paid for the urn, the niche as well as the processing fee to open and close the niche after urn placement. My brother and I attempted to visit our father on Father's day June 21, 2015 and to our dismay, we could not find our father. This baffled us because we had paid everything in full. We contact the furneral home office on Father's Day but they had gone for the day. The answering service was able to reach Kevin McCormick, who we spoke to back in February to make urn/niche arrangements. He did not remember us but said that he'd look into the matter the next day. It started to get later in the day (and seeing how they close at 2pm), I faxed a copy of the invoice where we paid for all services upfront along with a note advising our father was not in the memorial in the niche we paid for. At 3:43pm, Kevin calls advising the urn was not placed in the niche because he was waiting to hear back from my brother on scheduling the urn ceremony and to sign a permit??? My brother and I indicated we did not need an urn ceremy and urn shoudl be placed in the niche. Kevin advised his notes did not reflect that. So guests who are greiving from a death should check his notes to ensure he's writing down the correct information? After further questions to Kevin about this "urn scheduling" i was told that the urn scheduling can only be done during the week between 9 and 2pm as thats what we paid for and they need 2 days notice. When was that communicated back in February? Nope because we told Kevin that we did not want an urn ceremony. My issue: Where was the follow up from the funeral home to my brother or myself about this "urn scheduling" especially since full payment was made and all services were not rendered? Here we are some 4+ months later and now we're told about scheduling an urn ceremony??? I feel like Kevin McCormick was not empathetic about what has occurred (or what did not occur). It's really sad when people are not accountable for their failed actions and then make you think it's your fault.

John was so very gentle with me. Everything went so easily and smoothly. I felt in very capable and kind hands. Within a day or two, after I had made the arrangements and left, John contacted me because I had left a ring on my mother's finger, and he asked me if I wanted it. Also, my requests around the ashes were a bit unusual and he was able to make sure everything I wished for was accomplished. Now, a year later, I have received a lovely card recognizing the one year anniversary of my loss. I am so touched this funeral home's sensitivity and kindness. I can't recommend them enough!

Because of the location there is limited parking at the facility you'll have to drive around the block a couple times to find a spot on the street. However the location is near public transportation and major highways, very easy to get to. The inside of the building is immaculate, organized and modern. We only found one bathroom and yes one toilet that is all! There may have been more but that wasn't clear to any of the people who continuously came in and out of the one bathroom. The room where they hold services is quite small, so if you have over 150 people and they do not have a larger area another facility should be considered. However the place is nicely painted and lit. Our loved one appeared to have been handed with care.

The cemetery is absolutely sprawling and seems to have no obvious borders defining where it begins and ends. I loved taking in the sights of the intricate an ornate grave markers, but also of the wildlife that meander around Laurel Hill Cemetery. I would definitely be interested in returning during a future visit and even taking a tour to learn more about the cemetery's origins and history.

As everyone knows, one can NOT BURY a CREMATED BODY, and then BURY that CREMATED BODY! = Ms. Waite also lied telling me that she was burying my deceased mother's urn, which belonged to me, IF it existed. Alsio Ms. Waite stole my deceased expensive cell phone, and when I asked her about it, she falsely the alleged that she would return it to me "next time" yet since she and I were already speaking face-to-face, there was NO reason she didn't have it THEN, and I haven't heard back from her since! Additionally, Ms, Waite had NO receipts, nor ANY other evidence that there was any funeral. Worsely, since my deceased mom retired from the City of Philadelphia, Ms. Waite's Funeral Home was paid for all Funeral Services and the Funeral Home, she also scammed me out of $7,452, from my beneficiary funds!
