I Called Merlans with a cut wire and was greeted by the owner in less than an hour with a response. Since I do not live in the house , I was offerday an appointment that was convenient for me. I was very impressed with the owner. Nestor indicated what he thought and told me what they would probably do. I also recieved a message from the elctrician that day. They were there waiting at the gate when i arrived , came in and with in 1 hour had the wire in the attic replaced with minmal cutting . Both of the electricians who came were polite and told me exactly was they were doing. I was very pleased with the work they did and I considered the price to be very reasonable. Nestor did a great job. He ran late for our scheduled appointment but communicated throughout. He quickly diagnosed the issues with 2 ceiling fans and several switches in the kitchen. Another electrician had come out earlier to do an estimate and struggled to diagnose what took Nestor a quick look to figure out. This was the first time I have used Merlan Electrical Services and pretty much made the decision to use them based partly on Yelp reviews and largely on my Yelp communications with the owner, Nestor Colon. He was very pleasant and responsive with his quote and with answering my followup questions. We got a time scheduled and on the morning of the job he touched base with me to verify that we were still "a go". At that time I asked him to bring materials to add another, not unsubstantial, piece of work to the job. The price for the additional work was not discussed at this time. Nestor and his helper showed up when promised, did a great job, including the last minute addition, in a timely fashion. When it was time to settle the bill, Nestor told me that since they finished so much quicker than he expected to, he would not be adding anything for the extra work I added at the last minute. I sent a quote request and Nestor responded within about 20 minutes, that was impressive as it was after hours. Nestor and I sent back and forth a number of details about what we needed done. I called him the day after Christmas as he asked and he quickly picked up and we were scheduled for that afternoon. Nestor and his assistant arrived on time and came in to assess the work to be accomplished. They quickly got to work and he had come equipped with everything he would need to get the tasks completed.
