Food was generic and likely played more to the western palate. Bread to start, wine, nice cool gazpacho soup, chicken thigh and drumstick in what seemed like a soy sauce with roasted potatoes. Dessert is coffee or a choice of chocolate cake, carrot cake or banana cake. Overall ok place but I was hoping for more local flavours.

Witnessed other couples coming in late for drinks and desserts. The only odd thing was that the location was a little difficult to find, I had walked right past the place a few times during my week's stay nearby, and never noticed the signage out front, as it sets back from the street behind parking spaces. They also don't have a strong presence on Yelp which is surprising. Only after a local recommendation when inquiring about nearby fine dining establishments did we find out about Piñera. Easy to miss, but worth a visit if you are a couple or group in Madrid and looking for a nice dinner on short notice during a busy weekend.

The beer and vino tinto was pretty good. It's that same cheap beer that the whole city sells, but at 1 euro for half a liter is fine with me. The vino tinto got a little getting used to and seemed to not have much alcohol content at all, but good after the initial sip of not knowing what to expect. I think four of us would eat here for 12e all together for drinks and food. The employees were very nice and even though there were at least 50 other customers packed into the restaurant they recognized us and waved me over when our order was called and we couldn't tell it was our name over the loud speaker. I can't say it was up to par with some of the restaurants we tried, but it was safe. Knew what to expect every time and really just couldn't beat the price. It's probably like the Spanish equivalent of McDonald's so we tried not to eat here all the time, but if it was late and we were lost amongst a good deal of expensive places that didn't look like they tasted great we would head over here for a good meal every time.

With the salads, you choose the base (3 different types of lettuce or pasta or rice or quinoa or a combo) followed by a protein and 3 additional toppings. The salad is made fresh and the staff is great. There are numerous locations across Madrid and we have eaten in the restaurant in the evening when opting for a quick, healthy dinner in a casual, relaxed atmosphere. Def check it out!
