Stunning venue. The epitome of Spanish romantic. Located well near the cathedral of Malaga. Picturesque and touristy. Here I went to get a grasp of my knowledge of traditional Spanish dishes, with oxtail, higher market tapas, huevos rotos, porra antequerana and gazpacho. All of these were worth the hype to try at a more central and noticed location.
The great thing about Hess dishes is, that they all came with garlic sautéed potatoes in herbs. The quality of the it tapas was outstanding. With a variety of delicious traditional upmarket delicacies and locally sourced ingredients, it was a pleasant experience.
The oxtail was also a pleasant delicacy worth trying, especially for peculiar meat lovers. However the mashed eggs called huevos rotos could have been more cooked. The sogginess of leaving the eggs a bit 'aldente' did not fit well with the crispy bacon and other flavours. It mellowed them all down. Alongside with vaguely slow service and tourist claustrophobia this place is great for those who wish to stay more in their comfort zone, visit main attraction and spare effort in finding places where price meets quality. Overall worth going at least to try. read more
