The facility cares for every level from recuperative care of accident victims and post-hospitalization to hospice. Some are obviously long-term residents. Physical Therapy was attentive and the centerpiece of facility. I would especially like to commend Antonio and Danielle for making hard effort pleasant. Typically understaffed in nursing, especially at night and weekends. But the staff that was there was almost universally excellent. I would especially commend Nurse Cassie for service above and beyond. They have social activities that appear to bolster morale and socialization. Although I did not participate in them for my own reasons. They had daily activities and they posted calendars in the rooms listing them. The meals? I do not eat. So I cannot really review them. We used Mesun when my mother was revering from a blood pressure issue. Some staff were good; however, during her stay she had to be briefly hospitalized. While she was gone, the staff stole everything worth having. I find myself looking for another place 2 years later, never again at Mesun! read more

Wish I could leave no stars. Night shift consist of two staff personnel during the night and are unable to balance the needs of multiple patients. After expressing concerns to management I was told that no medical facility provides one on one care and that I can expect needs to be met with haste. I would've much rather have come up with an amicable solution then to be told to move my family member to another facility. Unfortunately my family member in hospice is left to feel less dignified and remain soiled during her transition. My 89 year old mother was sent for rehab after a hospital stay. Her condition when she less than three weeks later was horrible. She lost 20 pounds in less than three weeks. She has dementia and she is almost blind. She cannot use utensils by herself and she was to be given meals that she could eat with her hands. Between three family members that would visit on a regular basis, unfortunately rarely during meal time, did have meals brought to her and every time it was not something that she could eat by herself. Every single visit between the three family members which was daily, we had to request ice water. Her cup barely had anything in it, and it was always warm. The staff spends more time sitting around talking to one another and being on their phones, then making sure that the patients are taken care of. It has been a month since my mom has been out and her health has continued to deteriorate since being in that place. The only thing I can say on a positive note it is it is clean. Cleanliness does not replace taking care of those that are in their care. it saddens me that we trusted them to care for her. read more

Spent 14 days with my mom in her final days at Mesun. It was the most difficult process to go through for my siblings and myself. After being discharged from Grady Memorial after 3-weeks, Inpatient Hospice facilities in the greater Atlanta area are not common. Finding Mesun was wonderful. The staff did an amazing job caring for my mom during her final days and the support they gave us was equally amazing. I cant say enough and I am forever grateful to all the staff. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the facility, and the hospitable personality of the lady we were told to speak with, who is the social worker there. When she was about to give us a tour, the extremely rude director came over and told her to go back to her office and that she would do it, which was a bit awkward. She went on to show us around, and we quickly realized this was an extremely depressing place, and every patient was sedated beyond consciousness. I understand that in many hospice cases it is common to sedate into unconsciousness for the remainder of life for comfort and dignity. However, the place was at near capacity and everyone was sedated completely. From what I could see, they put you here, and you lay there until your time is up, with no attempt at quality of life whatsoever. Two patients are in each room, which means one patient is basically in the doorway in view of all visitors, delivery people, etc that come through. Personally, if one day I am literally laying on my deathbed, I'd prefer some privacy! We had explained multiple times we were seeking a private room for my grandfather and the man we met with that morning had said it would be no problem. I tried to explain this to the director, but she quickly became rude and said that would absolutely not be happening. I went on to explain that who we met earlier told us it would not be a problem, and she said it would be. She was very difficult to speak with, one reason being she was so rude, and the other reason because she did not speak clear English, so I kindly said I would just call the man we met this morning, and ask him about it again. She immediately became panicked and slightly aggressive, by getting much closer to me, raising her voice, and saying "he can't do anything, I make the decisions and I am over him! You have no reason to speak to him!." I thought this behavior was extremely odd for any professional, especially someone who works in such a delicate industry, and I immediately wanted nothing more to do with this place. If she would treat me like that, it makes me wonder how she would treat a patient. So I politely said "Thank you, I think we've seen enough here, and we're ready to go." My family nodded in agreement, and as we turned to leave, she rushed over to the nurse's desk and asked her to call the man I wanted to speak with before, and she said "If you want to speak to him, you can do it right here." I said "No, thank you, I'm not interested." At this point, the friendly social worker we initially me came over and profusely apologized about our experience, and tried her best to make the situation better. I thanked her, and said we would be exploring other options. It's important to note a couple of things. We went with another hospice facility who delivered the finest care possible. They never sedated him any further than a sleeping pill at night, allowing him to eat three full meals a day that they prepared for him (if he wanted them) and provided extensive snacks for us to give to him at any time. MeSun told us when he goes into their facility, absolutely no food would be provided as he "doesn't need any" basically because he's dying. The place we went with welcomed him to get up and move around to a chair, walk with him in a wheelchair, and allow him to sit in the family room by the fire and enjoy the day. MeSun was absolutely nothing like that. You also may want to be aware of the language barrier that can exist between the nurses/CNAs at MeSun, as they speak broken English or have strong accents. Obviously this does not speak to the level of knowledgeable care and attention caregivers may or may not be able to provide, but it does create a potential problem for elderly patients and family to understand completely. There are very few reviews for MeSun, and all but one of those reviews are written by employees and former employees. I know this for a fact, because I actually met those specific people and know their names. read more

We have been present with our loved one in hospice round the clock at MeSun now for 11 days. We have met virtually the entire staff of doctors, nurses, attendants and social workers spanning day and night shifts. We cannot speak highly enough of each person's professionalism, knowledge, and empathy. Our loved one has been as calm and in as much comfort as possible. The facility is homey, new and spotless. The atmosphere is calm, sunny, and cheerful, which also comforts the family. Congratulations to MeSun for the best experience under duress we could have hoped for. read more

If zero was an option I would have put that. Their nursing staff is incompetent and they get an attitude if you ask for any information and God forbid you ask them to repeat vital signs because you'll be told that's unnecessary! Even if someone is actively dying, obtaining vital signs at the family's request is never unnecessary. The administrator himself told me they don't call for every status change! I can understand slight changes in vital signs but don't tell me his respiratory status has changed and not be able to explain how And that the family shouldn't be notified as that's important to know! read more

My mother was at the Rehab Facility for 20 days and it was not a good experience. The first 10 days she was quarantined (even though she did not have Covid) and was in an area basically all alone. She was not allowed to leave her room for therapy (which is the point of rehab) or to go eat? In the evening the nurses take a two hour break and its a ghost town. If your nurse is on break - and you need anything, you will have to wait until they get back. After the 10 days, she was moved downstairs, but she still did not get the therapy that she needed to get better. She basically sat in a chair for another 10 days before I had her released and took her back to the hospital. The workers are very nice and try their best but they are not trained to handle all cases. The day my mother left, because they are not properly trained, 3 assistants dropped her while trying to get her into the car. We had to call 911 for assistance into the car. I think that this place has potential, but if your family member needs a lot of attention, and can't fend for themselves, this is not the place! I wish I had taken my mother out sooner! read more

My sister was recently in the care of the MeSun staff. I found everyone at MeSun to be genuinely caring and attentive to her needs. The Nurses took great care to ensure she was comfortable. I was initially concerned with the construction but once inside it was not a distraction. In a very difficult time, the MeSun staff did all they could to support not only my sister but our family and visiting friends as well. I appreciate their compassion and professional care. read more

I have my mother in law with MeSun currently and also had my dad with MeSun. We chose home hospice so they come to our home. They have all become like family as they do go beyond the call of duty. The chaplain has even come to our home and played Ukulele which lightens up my mother in law's mood instantly. They do have a hospice facility as well and it can be for the absolute final days (if someone is not able to perish at home or prefers not to) as well as for respite care. They do have it fully staffed, there is a kitchen, cozy living room area for family to meet or relax in as well as a serene courtyard. They have a multitude of cultures represented both in paid and volunteer staff and I have yet to encounter an issue. The social worker visits weekly, the chaplain visits as often as I want and the on call nurses have been excellent when needed. The CNA comes 3x a week and she is now like family. I highly recommend them as they are more of a family than a big corporate entity. read more
