I had been hypothyroid for many years and was taking the same dose of medication that all of the sudden didn't appear to be working for me. After careful consideration, I called Dr. Vanlue's office and setup my free consultation with the doctor. Once I spoke with him I knew that it was the right place for me. He listened very carefully to my concerns and gave helpful feedback and answers. He also offered a payment program that made it more affordable for me to become a new patient. Dr. Vanlue is a sports medicine physician who specializes in using an integrated approach with bio identical hormone therapies. His office is very professional, friendly and highly accommodating. He does not accept insurance and instead runs his practice on a private pay basis. However, insurance is recommended in order to cover all of your labs. Once you have established yourself as a new patient you will be sent a new patient packet, an Rx for all of your labs and a saliva kit to complete and return for analysis. Once all of the results are returned you will go into the office to discuss your results and go over recommended treatments and or therapies. Dr. Vanlue addressed my complicated thyroid issue and explained everything else that was going on with my body. Due to my age my female hormones also needed to be addressed. He explained that my body was making lots of testosterone and very little female hormones and I was also seriously lacking in some other vital nutrients. Since beginning my bioidentical regimen I am feeling so much better. Dr. Vanlue is not only excellent at what he does, he genuinely loves what he does. I am very impressed with both the staff at the Dr's office, as well as Dr. Ruggerio himself. I didn't wait for anything more then a few minutes at any point in time, even in the actual waiting room, which is where the majority of patients are kept suffering in my experience. I was called in within ten minutes to a room, and seen almost immediately by Dr. Ruggerio. Not only did he have a very thorough understanding of my RA, he also did an in-depth analysis of my medical history to make some recommendations that would help manage RA better. Unlike some other doctors, he really spent time getting to know my medical history and helping me out. I didn't feel at any point in time like he felt rushed or bored and ready to move on to the next patient. Imagine; a doctor that actually CARES about his patients and not just his pocket. The staff follow up was excellent as well. The nurse sat with me to look up some specialists in the area (I was still travelling to NY to see my rhematologist a few times a year), and called a few days later to check in. They are extremely fast at getting back to you when you call with concerns or are in need of refills, and also fill prescriptions via Blackberry on the spot. Now that's service!
