In every department from lab, to radiation, to med onc/surg onc, rehab, pharmacy, you'll find some of the nicest most helpful people. As a survivor and as a therapist I would refer family, friends, and even myself here. Finding the center can be a bit tricky but if you just follow the directions to St Lukes Hospital off Lakepointe Pkwy., MD Anderson is attached to the hospital and the entrance is to the right of the hospital's main entrance. There are handicap parking spots in front of the entrance and a big parking lot as well as a parking garage (all free).

When we got there they kicked us out "due to covid" but it was in such a tacky and insensitive manner. As my dad began to ring the bell the security guard stopped him mid ring and said we had to leave. It was only 2 of us! I am just appalled at the delivery as the security guard was very forceful and rude. I am just in shock and wish that I could've gotten to experience that moment with him. It was sad having to watch from the outside as all of the doctors and nurses cheered him on. He wanted his family there for that beautiful moment, not strangers.

I was treated like the goddess that I am, every step of the way. When the front desk, my nurses, and my surgeon were perfect. I interacted with multiple people and all were kind and well versed in their fields. I knew I was in trusted hands the minute I walked through the door. My surgery was a success and my procedure went well. 10 out of 10 recommend. Thank you everyone!!!!

I've played sports all my life and this was my first big injury and first surgery. After dealing with the the financials and doctor visits. I found a hood doc and scheduled with memorial hermann surgical cause I was ready to get this over with. I arrived 15mins before my appointment and approached the desk. From the first employee to the last all I got were angelic hellos and voices with youth and levity. At some extent I thought it nice . While still thinking there has to be a % of patronage. Nope from the moment the front desk nurse took the time to get me a pen as a souvenir- cause I made a joke that I wanted something for being a "good boy" . Everyone was absolutely great and catering. Everyone was unique and kind. Surgery went smoothly. I'm excited for the recovery. They even called to check up on me and I chatted with the nurse as real people and she answered all my questions.

My mom is still…read morehere but I have decided to take a pause and let others know about our experience at Kindred Hospital Sugar Land so far. A special thank you to the administration team who are always prompt at addressing any questions or concerns we have as a family. The COO-Ms. Hala, patient rep-Ms. Marie, the director of case manager-Mr. Faisal, Radiology Manager-Mr. Doshi and several others are the dedicated Kindred Leadership Team. At Kindred, each management leader have been assigned certain amount of patients to follow up and make sure that they are receiving the appropriate care. My mom has been assigned to Mr. Doshi. He has been daily visiting us to make sure if we all are doing well. He has been bringing awesome chai for my mom and tasty vegetarian Indian breakfast to make her feel at home. Ms. Marie, the patient rep knows my whole family with our first names. She indeed is an excellent patient advocate and justifies her job title. She visits my mother regularly and is always in constant communication with us. Ms. Marie goes above and beyond in her commitment and helps us in any big or small issues. As an administrative leader, Ms. Hala has several issues to deal with but she has been so much supportive of her patients and families. She values different cultures and their family dynamics and expectations. She helped my family to accommodate some of our needs regarding my mom's care. The front receptionists and the security officers are very kind and welcoming. The clinical staff (nurses, nurse assistants, PTs, OTs, Respiratory Therapists, Speech therapist, wound care team, and others) are genuinely affectionate with a focus to provide excellent care for my mom, keenly aimed at ensuring happiness through comfort and security. Nursing staff has been keeping my mom comfortable and clean; always remembering that she is a human being, treating her gently and respectfully. My mother had several bedsores and rash from the other hospital but I saw them healed here. There are several staff members that I can name to offer my gratitude and at the same time, I know I will miss many. Hopefully, in my final review, I will name them all. But for now, I want to offer my appreciation to Jancy, Kim, Digna, Titi, Crystal, Mary, Katie, Kate, Mimi, Sephora, Tess, Salvador, Blessing, Natalie, Tiffany, Sammy, Donna, and so many others. Also, I am thankful to the housekeeping and cafeteria for giving awesome service. The physicians who have their privileges here are committed and knowledgeable. They also show up on weekends! Some of the physicians that we are blessed with are Dr. Ajay Bhora (Internal Medicine), Dr. Soni (Nephrologist), Dr. Desai (Pulmonologist), Dr. Maredia (Internal Medicine), Dr. Chan cardiologist, and several others! Finally, at this challenging time of COVID, where we struggle to visit our loved ones at hospitals, we as family can meet our mom every day. One designated person can stay with her from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. In addition to that rest of the family can see her through the beautiful windows in my mom's room. Meeting the family daily itself is therapeutic for my mom and blessing for us. Leaving our old loving mother in this pandemic time at a hospital was not easy at all. But Kindred's team have soothed my mom, whole extended family, and myself as true family. Currently, my mom is transferred to Kindred's Acute Rehab Unit (ARU). I will post my final review after we discharge from the ARU and will be ready to move forward. I just want to also add that the facility is clean, comforting, and most of the rooms are spacious. I hope my review will help some families who might be in a dilemma whether to admit their loved ones at Kindred Hospital Sugar Land. Hands down to the Kindred Team for providing excellent treatment! I am genuinely thankful to Kindred Team of Sugar Land. Sincere regards, Avani K. Thakkar
