Rafting for the first time was an amazing experience, thanks to Methow Rafting! The staff was incredibly friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. They took the time to ensure everyone understood the safety procedures and knew exactly what to do in case of an emergency. I was with a group of 15 middle school students, and they had an absolute blast. Our guide, Jason, was communicative, engaging, and so much fun to raft with. We rafted the Lower Methow with Methow Rafting this weekend and had the BEST time. We had five adults and one 8 year old doing his first rafting trip, so we chose Lower Methow and it was absolutely perfect for families. Dylan, the owner and our guide, made the whole experience fun and comfortable while giving us exciting splashes and laughs the entire trip. At one point Forrest (8 year old) said he was hot and wanted to "cool down," and Dylan immediately guided us into the perfect splashy section that soaked the boat and had everyone cracking up. He was loving it and was all smiles!! What stood out the most was how personal the trip felt. It did not feel like a scripted tourist activity at all. Dylan read the group perfectly, made Forrest feel included, and knew exactly how to balance fun, safety, and adventure. You can tell he genuinely loves the river and wants everyone to leave having an amazing experience. The scenery was unreal, the water felt perfect, and honestly it ended up being one of those Sunday afternoons we'll talk about forever. If you have kids not quite old enough for Black Canyon yet, this is 100% the trip to do. read more

Did the Black canyon half-day whitewater on Memorial Day weekend (05/26/24). Had an awesome time! Don't think I would as I was very (!!) nervous being a first timer and not knowing how to swim should I fall overboard. I was gonna chicken out but I was told I could sit by my guide. Dylan was my guide and he was such a sweet guy assuring me that he will look after me. With that assurance and my trust in him, I was able to enjoy this crazy and so much fun adventure! Lots of wetness and laughter! Thank you, Dylan for the fun adventure and the silly jokes you made! Made me laugh and ease my nervousness. I hope to come back and do this again! My friend and I decided that since we were already staying at the River Run Inn (next to the location of this tubing company), that we had no problem paying the $25 fee to tube down the river we already had a view from, from our room. Included in the cost is a personal flotation device (life jacket), high quality mesh bottom river tube and neoprene booties for the tootsies. (by the way they feel so funky on your feet like you're gellin'!) Bottles of water are $1, as you may be thirsty on a hot AF day. They give us the run down, and during COVID have their setup all ready with distancing between sign up sheets and hand sanitizer provided, then separately you go to another spot to pay. They ask for you to wear your masks on the tube, as well as keep them on as you'll need to wear them on the shuttle ride back with other passengers. Once you are geared up, Derek gave us a brief orientation that covers paddling technique, like staying forward until the end when you want to paddle yourself backwards when you reach the yellow marker to safely paddle back to shore, and a bit about river safety. He was explicit with instruction, such as where the river divides, and to look for the dual colored rivers meeting, as well as fishing traps to stay away from and a huge log to watch out for. Yes, you can be chill and lazy for a bit, but be mindful so you don't wind up looking like a whack a mole. We head around to the back of the Inn to drop in, it's fairly easy, and then off we go. It might have been hot out, but seriously thankful for those strong mesh bottoms for a pool of cool water you sit in. The booties came in very handy when finally dismounting from the tubes and tread through some rocky and slippery areas to shore. If you miss the first yellow marker, there is a second one. You can literally just hang at the picnic tables there instead of walking up to the parking lot and overheating into combustion. Someone will meet you about an hour from your departure to pick you up and bring you back on the shuttle (spaced apart from other guests). read more

We loved our rafting trip in the lower Methow this past weekend. I was negative Nellie before the trip. The weather was a little rainy. I was wondering if it was going to be cold. They thoroughly went through all the safety protocols, were very experienced with the river, and chatted us up about the river and animals. The equipment seemed almost brand new. I have been on several rafting trips in my lifetime and this one was by far the best. What an amazing crew! The view is beyond beautiful, we were doused and laughing and carrying on. Elise is an incredible guide. We had a blast floating the river in their inner tubes in mid-August. Our group ranged from age 12 to mid-50's. The tubes are really sturdy and you are fitted with a life jacket before you go, so we felt very safe. The river was getting low, so we had to walk over rocks occasionally and lift our butts over the 'rapids'. But it was super fun. Next year, we will go a little earlier in the season. Before the ride, you get a thorough safety orientation. The rafts allow from 6-8 persons. There were 2 rafts, which allowed for a more personalized custom-made ride. Our guide, Dylan, answered questions with topics ranging from ornithology to flora. The lunch was healthy AND delicious! Everyone was so pleased, we wanted to know where we could later on buy more of the same sandwiches. What a marvelous ride it was!!! We couldn't stop laughing. It was an unforgettable fun-filled phenomenal ride. I know when my kids are in their 90's, they'll still laugh over the memory of this water rafting trip their mother took them to enjoy! What a great experience. Everyone in the company clearly had the goal of matching our wishes to the experience. We were on a 3-day retreat with a volunteer environmental group. We had done some hiking but we wanted to spend some time on the Methow River. We are mostly inexperienced rafters in our 60s and 70s.
