There is a ton of parking spots and the place is gorgeous but they need to have a better system for people to leave the parking lot after an event. It literally took 45 minutes to get out the parking lot because there were so many cars leaving at the same time. Pure chaos and madness. A traffic director would make a huge difference. read more

Shame on you Metra Park no handicapped parking near the entrance of the Holiday and Gift Festival (Expo Center). The parking lot was at the top of a hill with huge curbs to step over. All access for my driver to drop me off closer were blocked. I asked for wheelchair help and was told "Metra had them but this was not their event" They instructed me to ask the vendor the vendor (Holiday Festival) response was "this is a Metra Park problem not ours" read more

Went to the comedy show last night and finally got into the doors when a security lady asks me for my purse. I removed it and she immediately told me it was too big and I'd have to walk all the way back to my car. I did, but when I got into the metra several women were carrying bags and purses that were much bigger than mine. She seemed to be discriminating against me as I was a white female at a more diverse event. I have blisters on the back of my heels. If you're going to have rules in place be consistent with all customers. The metra needs a remodel. It was miserable other than the entertainer. read more

Absolutely the worst venue in Montana. Billings is fortunate that Bozeman, Missoula, and Kalispell have not built competing venues of size. We attended the All-Class State Wrestling Championships this past weekend, and the event staff was beyond rude, as apparently spending money in Billings coffee shops and not the MetraPark concessionaire is viewed as an act of villainy. Having attended football games at both MSU and UM last fall, it is amazing that University event staff can do their jobs professionally and treat patrons with respect. The gate and concessions lines at the MetraPark were ridiculously long, and the food on offer is expensive garbage. For the money that this tournament generates, they should be doing much, much better. read more

We had so much fun at Montana Fair today! Started out overcast this morning and eventually the sun came out. We checked out the vendors and food/quilt/flowers/spindle/handmade/home brewed ribbon winners stuff first then headed over to eat fair food including noodles, teriyaki chicken and potstickers from Taste of Asia, pizza and cow pies from other vendors and carne asada burritos from Fat Taco and drink strawberry lemonade and Pepsi products. After lunch it was ride time. We caught up with friends and co-workers throughout the fair. We visited the MSUB alumni area where they offered free ice cream and beer along with free handheld fans. After that we headed over to the 4H area to see the animals (bunnies, roosters, guinea pigs, ducks, quails, goats, pidgeon, turkeys, livestock and so much more. We then headed over to see the Ford area - checked out their mustang and truck, the blacksmith area (very talented), checked out the vehicles in the Army area, the recycling area, the wood turning demo area (super talented), before walking back and ordering a carne asada burrito from Fat Taco before leaving for the day. Ample, free parking. Plenty of open spaces when we arrived. No traffic upon leaving. read more

Glass everywhere but they dont have security for their crap parking lot. A cluster f*** to get in and out of. Bad prices, seating, food and acoustics make for a rotten time. I don't know if my expectations are too high for Montana, but MetraPark is almost a relic of a stadium. It's your standard stadium I guess, albeit a bit small. It might be the only place to catch a concert or other event in the area, so it's really all the people around here have. That being said, they could still do a lot better with their concessions, which was the true tragedy of the evening. Anything other than the beer is just not worth it, as the food at 7-Eleven is more appetizing. read more

For years I have been visiting the metra and fair because I used to be in 4H. Now my 9 year old niece is doing the horse program in 4H. I stopped by to check on and throw some hay to the horse that I own. They would not let me in to take care of her and told me I would have to pay to do so. We ended up having the sheriff called down and he expressed that nine year olds can take care of horses alone with no supervision. Needless to say the horse was brought home immediately. The barns used are so unsafe and falling apart as well and they have been promising new ones for years. I will not be returning to a place I have to pay to check on and take care of my animal. read more

The NILE Stock and Rodeo was a great show and the riders and the stock was absolutely incredible....The building and seating? The only thing this place needs is a wrecking ball! The " Good Seats " Section C Lower seat rows, my knees touched the seat in front of me, those seats had more birthdays than me! You are so packed in that you cannot use the cup holders and you are literally sitting inches from the next person. Coach on United Airlines has more room and more comfort that these horrid sitting arrangements. Funny, the security was several overweight males walking and acting like they could do something other than sit on you in the event of an issue. The concessions were as much of a rip off that there could be, pretzels found in the gutter of New York City would have better taste. Stale, cold, and nasty! The rest of the menu was just as bad. This venue would be excellent if you could watch it on pay per view, safer, cleaner and you could have good food. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT THIS PLACE IS. The show? was incredible, I would not likely ever visit it again.....All it needs is a wrecking ball! The Parking is a another total cluster F*&%, holly crap no one out there assisting with traffic control.......AVOID THIS PLACE! read more

Waited for over an hour in line to get inside for the Foo Fighters concert because the entrance for the "expedited no purse line" only had 2 metal detectors. If it had been a normal December night in Montana this could have been dangerous. When I emailed management about their security issue they first tried to call me liar, then when that didn't work tried blaming the bands for being so demanding! read more

They advertise that they have camping site at the Metrapark. They do have places that you can stop and camp but the price gouging for our function was unreal. We paid double the advertised price and 5 time what other attendees are charged for their function. The campsites are a small area of loose dirt. Even though we booked months in advance, there were no reserved sites for us. It was a free for all with motorhomes jammed in with just enough space between units for your mirrors. The washrooms are disgustingly filthy. I don't know why the health unit doesn't shut them down. The black flies outnumber the people by the thousands. No, I'm not exaggerating! Having a meal at the outdoor vendors was a real challenge unless you are ok to share with the flies. Many of the indoor exhibitors bought fly swatters to reduce the population indoors. I won't be going back in this lifetime! read more

I visited MetraPark on 12/9/17 for the Foo Fighters concert. Doors were at 6, opening act was 7:30. We arrived at 6:15 to see lines on both sides of the venue snaked around. We entered the "express" line with no bag check (no bags allowed). We had to wait outside for an hour to get through the doors. We were told that it was the first time they were doing metal detector scanning, so clearly they have a lot to learn. After the (incredibly amazing) show, they closed the road off to taxis/Uber/Lyft drivers for 30 minutes. We were waiting in the lobby because it was freezing and windy outside. We were finally able to request a car but it was going to take 25 minutes. After about 15 minutes, we were KICKED OUT of the lobby. There were at least 50 people who were left to stand outside in the cold and wind. This was a ridiculous experience and this venue was TERRIBLE. Security and staff have a lot of work to do. read more
