Now, let me start this off by saying i'm not expecting the best job ever done, as it is a beauty school. BUT what had happened to me is simply non repairable and I would love to receive a refund. I was there yesterday, and mind you, it was going great! I got there right on time for my appointment at 10:00. I get there, and me and my stylist are bonding, but... there's a problem. They close at 4, so we were in a crunch. I was asking to get my highlights redone with a color, and a cut. It was a little strenuous what I was asking for but I had done similar things there and it was perfect! I get it every student is different, but when she started cutting my hair the red flags were showing up. She was moving incredibly slow, we started at 10:30-40 maybe? And we didn't finish cutting until 1:30. Then we started on the lightener. At one point there was THREE PEOPLE working on my hair, and somehow it still wasn't enough time. Today do I come to find out, not only is my hair cut wrong, but it's COMPLETELY UNEVEN RACCOON TAILS ON BOTH SIDES. The communication between the three girls was not it, one of them actually had raccoon tails and was assisting. The two girls that helped one with purple hair and one with shaved sides bless their soul. They saved my hair to the best of their ability. Needless to say, my hair is completely ruined and on top of that... I WAS CHARGED 90 DOLLARS?! I payed full price for the package I didn't even get when I KNOW it doesn't cost that much. It's ridiculous and I will not be returning anymore. I'm also 89% sure my stylist was high, she was moving way too slow to be in her own head after multiple warnings of time from the instructor. When she would leave to take a break for 5-10 minutes... she would leave for 30. And on top of that, she always took her bag with her, now i'm a girl so I can understand if I girl is on her period, but that didn't seem to be the cade because she took her bag to just "be back" not because she was using the bathroom. 0-5 stars, you have completely lost my trust Metro and I do not plan on returning. To get my color and save it from how it looked before, I had spent another 30 dollars at Sallys beauty. After just being charged 90$. I had a gel mani and regular pedi the other day. The worst mani pedi I have ever had. The manicure was so sloppy I was embarrassed to go to work with it. Looked literally like a young child did it. 2 days after I had it done it started peeling so that was my cue to peel them off. Person doing it was very sweet but not good at all. No one came to check on her work. She didn't even trim and shape my toenails the same length. This is clearly a place for hair. I did not complain because i was there 2 hours and needed to leave. Highly, highly recommend!!!!!! Brooke took exceptional care of me (my brows and nails, too). She is so easy to talk with and is extremely professional. I definitely would request her next time ... customer service and kindness is very plentiful here. My 90 year old neighbor was taken care of by Alexa. Hair color and cut. "0 Stars" Let me start this out by saying- I understand students make mistakes and I am in no way trying to blame a student. I have been going to Metro to get my hair highlighted for years now. All my past experiences have been great, with little to no complaints. I wish I could say that about my experience today. I went in for partial highlight and ended up getting my whole head bleached. I have naturally blonde, thin hair, so any bleach on my hair is already a concern for myself. I had asked the student for a partial highlight, which the instructor "Bennett" fully knew. Due to my hair already being blonde I asked for them to focus on my roots more and try not to overlap my already blonde streaks. The instructor "Bennett" then proceeded to tell this student to completely bleach all my roots. (NOT what I asked for). Since I expected the instructor to know better and know her students abilities, I didn't speak up (BIGGGGG mistake). The student and instructor completely ignored my highlight request and bleached my roots without any foils. The student bleached my roots WHITE and I had a harsh orange band, then the rest of my golden hair was untouched. The instructor did not come up to me once after this step, when it was quite clear I was very upset. Instead other students spoke up and asked to take over to fix my hair. Which the instructor told them no, and continued to let my hair get more ruined. The instructor then proceeded to tell the student to bleach my whole head. NOT WHAT I WANTED, nor did she ask me what I wanted! All I wanted was an extra few highlights to blend in my darker roots. I am not obsessed with having perfect hair. I don't mind a little mess up, a bad cut, or semi chunky highlights. So you know my hair was bad to get me this upset. At this point I was praying anything would fix my hair, especially since I have graduation this weekend and don't want to have white and orange hair. While "bleach washing" my already fragile hair, one of the other students (Sierra), that was watching from afar, came over to help and ended up taking over. I informed her that I only wanted a partial highlight. This made her very upset for me, because she was confused on how I ended up the way I did. She decided to take over and attempt to fix my hair. At this point the instructor still has not said a word to me. No "don't worry we will fix it" or "are you doing ok." This new student went out of her way to take on the challenge to fix my hair. She ended up having to add brown to my roots to make my hair look natural again. Thankfully it worked and my hair looks normal. But my hair is now darker than when I went in, lost half my hair, and wasted 5 hours of my life. All during this time I am having around 8 different students coming up to me feeling so bad for how bad my hair looks and all working to fix it. Which you would think would cause their instructor to maybe chime in as well. Sierra also came to fix my hair ON HER OWN. She was not told to help, she went out of her way to help me, which I am so grateful for. Finally Sierra finished my hair and brought it back to normal. Then the instructor had the audacity to pretend nothing happened and ask if I liked it. Yes I love that the new student was able to fix my hair, but no this should not have happened. The instructor then followed me to the desk and had the audacity to STILL CHARGE ME! She took 20% "family" discount off, thinking that made up for anything in the day. I tipped the girl who helped fix my hair. But still no apology from the instructors. I just want to be clear here. Students make mistakes, and this student did end up apologizing. I am not writing this to come after a student for a mistake. This student was informed a way to do my hair, and she did it that way. But!!!!! The instructor should not have told her to bleach all my roots when I asked for a partial highlight. She should have stopped her when she noticed a mistake and not let her continue to bleach my head and ruin my hair. She should have been a mature adult and a good instructor and approached the customer (me) about what is going on and apologize. In no way should they have charged me for the service, and all the students were very upset they still charged me. Overall, I can't express how upset I am with this place. I overheard this was not a first time something like this happened either, which concerns me for PAYING customers hair. As for the student who fixed my hair (Sierra). I did mention her name in this review because she is an AMAZING hairdresser and is going places. I expect great things from her and will always remember her for not only fixing my hair but also for standing up for a client. So, thank you so much Sierra. As for the instructor (Bennett), you are supposed to be a role model and leader, you failed to do both. I would love for someone from Metro to reach out to me, since I know they have my info. And I fully expect a refund and apology. read more

Definitely agree with the other reviewers that it's hot or miss. I have gotten 2 facials, a hair cut, hair die and a massage there. First facial was just ok, hair cut and die was on for the price, massage was good but not great, last facial was what I would get at a resort or spa. Very impressed. The haircuts my daughters' got were amazing. So it's hit or miss but if you're trying to save money it can be worth the shot. read more

This was my second time going here. The first time was when my son was around 1 year old and he needed a haircut. The stylist was super nervous which in turn made me nervous and thats not easy to do since I'm an easy going person. So needless to say I only took him here once. Now the most recent time I went was for me for a basic haircut witg long layers. My stylist was very friendly and is set to graduate in March. She did an awesome job on my hair and I felt like my shampoo was long and I got a good scalp massage. The only downside was I was there for 1.45 hours just for a cut. So if you have to plan enough time if you decide to come here. Before they do anything and after they cut your hair they have to have the teacher come check it. That's what holds them up. While I was getting my hair cut I was browsing around the different chairs being nosey to see how things were going elsewhere. There seemed to be 2 newer students working because the teacher was with them a lot and you could just tell they were nervous. So I'm not sure how you can guarantee a student closer to graduation that has more experience. I'm guessing you just ask when you schedule your appointment. I saw one woman walk out with a very nice blonde highlight job. The atmosphere is also nice and professional. It doesn't feel like a school at all, other than the teacher lurking around. I will definitely be back. You can't beat the price (my haircut was $15). I used to pay like $35 for the same thing. Just plan to be there longer than at a normal salon. You get what you pay for. The first time I was there I was pleased with what I got. But I had two bad visits after that. They rushed me and tried to convince me to do something else because it would be quicker. And the teacher did not seem to give the best advice to her student for the color that I wanted and made my hair copper and very uneven. At the end of the appointment the teacher comes and looks at it and signs off on it. But I can't believe she signed off on it and let me walk out of there. Been coming on and off for 3 years. Understand that everyone are students however I do not understand how people graduate when they shouldn't be. Recently new front desks are terrible with service. I was placed with the wrong class group however requested specifically 105 class. I proceeded to get a very uneven haircut. So I rescheduled to get it fixed. Understand these are students but went to get my nails done and never again will I go. The student told me she was graduating in July. She tried to clean up my nails with cotton while they were still wet, leaving cotton stuck in the polish and she let me walk out with wet nails. The teacher checked off and let me walk out like that as well! Wanted a refund and was disappointed. Clearly in a rush to get students in and out. frustrated to say the least. My two recent visits were not smooth. The first was for facial and eyebrow wax. The facial was less than good. Eyebrow wax was good. Made a second appointment to get brows done again. on the first appointment, they took me about 30-35 minutes late. They did come to me a few minutes past my appointment time and tell me they had a bed shortage and it was going to be 30 minutes before they could take me. I waited and appreciated they told me early on that they were running very late. For the second appointment I arrive on time and wait. Nobody is taking me or acknowledging that I am waiting and waiting. I finally go up to find out the student did not come in and they could not get another student to do the wax. I left after driving 35 minutes to get there. Totally unprofessional. read more

My daughter was an esthetics student at Metro and is now in their student teacher program. She loves the school and her teacher! The facial services I received were very relaxing and the atmosphere was very professional. After the first facial I could see a huge improvement in the red blotches on my skin. I've been coming here for 9 months so that says something right there. Yes I was very leery about going to a "beauty school" but so far no real complaints. Actually my last cut, color and highlight was amazing and I can't believe how many people complimented me. It does take longer than a traditional salon but the cost savings far outweighs the extra time. The teachers approve/check everything the students do. Since they have a steady stream of new classes you probably won't be able the book that same person for more than a couple times. Give it a try. read more

I went to Metro for the first time last month and had an amazing experience, Alexi was amazing and the prices were great. So this month I set up an appt for a mani/pedi....after my great experience I was excited to come back, but this appointment turned out miserable. In all honestly, a kindergartener could have done just as well as she had. Worst part of it all, the instructor came over and said she did a good job leaving me in an awkward spot to say anything. I called the next day because I woke up with sheet imprints in my nails and to complain and never relieved any call back. I went to school here a few years ago for cosmetology. I had an amazing experience and education!The teachers were awesome and I feel like I have more than enough knowledge of the industry! So much has changed and they have come such a long way! The programs are better and the curriculum's are the best. I just recently went back and got my makeup certification in the MUD program which was absolutely amazing and considering they are they only school in the state to offer a makeup program! I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking in the area.. and clearly if you go to the other schools you will see why this is the best choice and why I chose to go here! read more
