The first time I called them, Stan showed up at 07:50 a.m. for an appointment at 08:00 on a Saturday - but he hung out in his truck and waited until eight on the nose to knock on the door. I had a clog in my sink drain that was too far down for my snake to reach. He measured from the sink and the main, cut out a bit of pipe, cleaned it out, and then installed a T joint with a plug I could take out if I needed. Now, there's no part of the pipe I can't reach with the snake. That was the first of many great interactions. At this point, I tell them what the problem is, and they come fix whatever it is, and I pay them. I trust them so much that I don't need to talk to them before they fix something.

As it turned out the call at my house was possible one day earlier than expected. This was due to my geographic location in proximity to the business location. Evidently I was in the returning path of an employee at the end of a work day. I made an effort to remove the decorative cover from the faucet in question ahead of time in order to expose the plumbing parts in question. (Valve) To eliminate any access time needed to view the suspect components. Upon a quick visual examination I was informed that a repair could not be executed, due to the brand of plumbing fixtures in place. The short explanation was that 4 Lakes Plumbing did not (stock) or have necessary parts available to repair the brand of faucet present. Accordingly: NO REPAIR WAS MADE Currently, 4 Lakes Plumbing would like to have just under $200 from me, for this. The question is: Is it possible that 4 Lakes Plumbing should provide a list of plumbing fixtures that they can, or cannot, repair to a potential customer before a commitment is agreed to and ordered for a house call ? My own thought on this is that not many potential customers for plumbing repairs are aware of the brand name or any technicalities attached to a brand name component in their household plumbing. Possibly making a list of repairable brand name components to a prospective customern in advance useless. The answer: .. YOU decide. Full disclosure: Resistance to compliance in this case on my part may be somewhat based on my own personal definition of fairness. Which may or may not be of any pertinence.
