This is my Google Review as well. Negative Stars are not available. I recently closed out a claim with Metro Public Adjustment, and based on my experience, I would not hire this company again. The first few weeks went smoothly, but after that the process became extremely frustrating and dragged on for nearly a year. Communication from my assigned adjuster became very limited, and most of the time I was left doing the follow-ups myself. When I asked questions about missing money and delays, I was told it was the insurance company. When I spoke to the insurance company, they said they were waiting on Metro. I spent months stuck in the middle trying to get answers. For the last 4+ months of the claim, I did almost all of the work myself -- including follow-ups, reviewing estimates, checking totals, gathering documentation, and communicating with the insurance company. I repeatedly asked why there was a large amount of money missing from the claim, and after getting vague answers, I ended up finding the discrepancy myself by going through the paperwork line by line. At one point I escalated the situation, and a director got involved and helped push the claim to closure within a few weeks. While I appreciate that step, it does not change the fact that the claim sat unresolved for months while I was doing the work that I hired Metro to do. One fee was waived, but the company still collected the majority of their percentage even though most of the effort, research, and communication was done by me. What makes this even more frustrating is that after doing most of the work myself, I still ended up owing money in fees. It feels like I paid a percentage for someone to collect a check rather than actually represent me. I hired a public adjuster because I was told it would reduce stress and make the process easier. In my case, it did the opposite. The only reason this claim finally closed is that I pushed it forward myself. My honest advice -- stay involved, read your policy, ask questions, and don't assume the adjuster is handling everything. My 92 mother had a leak and her insurance company told her it wasn't covered. Metro came out and discovered not only was her living room ceiling damaged but her dining room walls were also impacted. Metro took care of documenting what needed repairs and managed all the back and forth with her insurance company. They took a denied claim and turning it into being paid to make her repairs. Never use a private insurance company! Especially this one! I had a flood in my business basement due to neglect on the landlord in June. They finally approved a settlement and then said I had to pay more for the removal of my damaged property!! They said I would get my limit that was 20,000 and took out their profit and want to charge me an additional 25,000 towards the disposal!!!! After multiple emails with 0 response I found out my agent only looks at the email and doesn't read them!!! so when I finally got a response to one of my emails, his assistant did not know who I was!! I had a claim on my home in November 2022. Brian Simms was the adjuster, (he was the absolute BEST) and Tami Young was my Claims representative. Metro took quite a while to pay the claim, but gee was it worth it . I could have never been more satisfied. Contacted Metro Public Adjusters to assist with my claim after Florance. The insurance company only offered me, will use round numbers, 40k. Metro came in and told me that they would send in an adjuster review insurance companies inspection. Now this is where it is important, both the representative Ken and the adjuster Wayne told me Metro would take 10% of any additional money that Metro would be able to get me for my claim. Win win right only now after signing documents of course that is not what the fine print said and took my final appreciation check of almost 5k paying them in total almost 10k on an 80k total claim. I've used Metro Public Adjustment for damage on three occasions and was very happy with the outcome on all issues. First I had a leaky pipe in the waiting room of my Chiropractic office. I talked to Aaron Stutman, a public adjuster in my business club that worked for Metro and he said he would take a look at the problem. He studied the cause of the leak which was our central drain pipe that had sprung a leak from age and he evaluated damages it caused. He also discovered that a drain pipe from my upstairs bathroom had also caused damage and he ultimately filed both claims as one thus bypassing a second deductible. An expert auditor from the company came and added up the damages. They were professional and did all of the legwork in addition to meeting with the insurance company adjuster. I would not have been inclined to file a claim if it weren't for Aaron and Metro taking care of everything. A second problem I had was my air conditioner downstairs. The pan was rusted and that caused a leak that went all over my cellar. There was damage to the tiles. After the good experience I had with the first leak, I called Aaron again and he looked it over while making no promises. They negotiated again with the insurance company and we made a decent recovery. I again would not have had the time or perseverance to have made a claim on my own and followed through with the paperwork. Aaron and Metro again did all of the work and I just had to sign the check. A third issue I had and by far the most expensive was damage to my roof from wind. I went out the door after one of our recent serious wind storms perhaps related to climate changes only to discover a handful of shingles on my front lawn. I thought I might try to have a few of the shingles replaced, but then remembered that Aaron had mentioned roof repair at one of our meetings. I asked him about it and again he said he couldn't promise anything but that he would look into it. He went up on the roof with our public adjuster after having his own people review the problem and he asked me to get an estimate on the repair. He also suggested including our 2 large sheds in the repair and I agreed that if he could that would be fantastic. One of my patients has a great reputation for quality roof repair so I got an estimate from him and Aaron took it to our insurance company. A short time later, I got a check covering 4/5 of the work. I had the job done, it looks great and Aaron got them to send me another check. At this point I just about broke even and it included both of my sheds. Sorry I didn't read the reviews prior to hiring Metro Public Adjustment (MPA). Did they do what they were essentially hired to do - Yes Would I use them again or recommend them - No Long story short, they have the worst communication of any company I have ever encountered. When dealing with the largest investment many have, their home, communication is vital. Metro Public Adjustment doesn't really agree. My claim dragged on for over a year primarily because they became unresponsive to phone calls and emails. I never knew the status of my claim. They sent an appraiser from a company in PA versus finding one in MD. And since they were coming from PA felt they could contact me the night, not even 24 hours notice, for them to come and appraise the damage. Scheduled the appraisal for a few days later. The insurance company finally paid, but due to the amount of the damage, my lender had to sign off on the payment. MPA sent the check which I forwarded to the lender. The lender needed further documentation that MPA received, but never forwarded. When I attempted to contact MPA I had to leave a message and instead of sending what I needed, they contacted the insurance company, had the check that the lender now had voided and a new one issued, for no apparent reason, which they sent to me with a copy of everything that I already had and not what the lender needed. That took another 10 days and was only resolved when my insurance company rep emailed MPA and requested permission to release the information. After MPA received the signed check from the lender and myself, I was notified that the check was voided and I needed to send the other check. Finally, the check is signed and my funds are released. I was already aware that MPA was going to take 35% of any funds that I received, but what I was never informed of was the cost for the appraiser, the one from PA. I was charged not only for the service, but his travel to and from PA. When I called and inquired, I was passed from voice mail to voice mail and no one ever returned a phone call or subsequent email. Acquired Metro to see how well their company could assist my clients with their claims - hoping they would able to aid my clients better than previous sources/methods. They were on multiple types and sizes of claims. The gent I met with who first introduced me to Metro (Anthony Scheirer) ensured me of his expertise and skills. I trusted him and gave him the opportunity to meet with my clients. Came to discover he overpromise, pointed out obvious wear and tear as new damages those I foolishly allowed him to meet. I personally witnessed him overpromise and claim items to be new damage (when it was not) on a number of times towards the end of my relationship with Metro. The guy claimed to be an adjuster. He never actually adjuster a single claim. He was simply a paper pusher/salesman/ Multi-level Marketing (a.k.a. pyramid scheme) recruiter. The client who first tipped me off to his shady ways did not use Metro and wound up with at least 70% more than those who trusted Metro. They failed at getting proper coverages for my clients. Some adjusters simply stopped contacting my clients wholly. Even the smallest of items they couldn't get coverage. My 6 figure church claim, which Scott Wolfertz. handled, was an absolute disaster. The guy had no clue he wasn't negotiating with the carrier's actual adjuster until he put me on the phone to do his job for him. Yes, in order for him to get results, he had to have me do his job... He got paid due to the efforts of the one who hired him.... This should have been a multiple six figure claim, but nope. Lack of education and professionalism ruined this one too. Our company lost out on easily 80k due to this company. But it was our clients who took the biggest hit because Metro's adjusters failed or didn't even attempt to have our client's policy properly recognized by the insurance carrier. I have had metro put an item on my credit report that I sent in clear documentation that it should not have been on there. The lady at the service they used has been nasty,hostile and not professional at all in handling the situation. I was approached by a nice and wonderful individual, but pretty much everyone else at this company were soooo awful. They do not help you in any way, just make you take a class to become a public adjuster and in class, the one individual who was presenting was just sooo awful and soooo rude, the giveaway prize was a folder for presentation and the way to get it was by making the most phone calls and setting up the most appointments. It was just beyond awful and unfair because no one even got licensed yet and all that. The other guy who I remember was Harold Wells and he was very vague in presenting the company and such. His basic presentation was "if you treat the work as a worker you get paid, if you treat it as a hobby, you end up paying for it". I had a small leak in my house that caused major damage and did not even know that my insurance could cover it. The adjuster from metro came out and she is amazing. She knows her stuff! She was able to pinpoint the source of the leak within moments even though my own plumber couldn't figure out where it was coming from. I am working with Dessy now and she is helping me weed through the crazy maze of insurance red tape. And if that wasn't enough, she literally saved my life. She opened the basement door to look at the floor and told me she smelled a gas leak. I had PGW come over and they told me that it was an active leak and if I would've lit a match down there I could've blown my house up. First, I did not seek out Metro. a neighbor came by to talk about his employer Metro and noting water damage promised to take care of it. He did call my insurance company who in turn sent the check to my mortgage company. Metro did not indicate this would happen.It necessitated another estimate, paper work etc. many problems ensued. Metro got the check. The contractor billed Metro for work done. Metro subtracted the amount I would be charged and paid the contractor the lesser amount. Said contractor threatened me with a lien and demanded immediate compensation plus late charge and interest he had billed Metro. Had no choice since I was in the middle of a refi. I had no intention of shorting Metro since I naively signed a contract. However, they deliberately misled me, accused me of receiving all the funds and certainly caught me off guard since I was forced to borrow money for the immediate payment to the contractor. You won't have enough to make your repairs after they take their fees (35%). Sure, your adjuster will be very nice, but all they do is meet with your adjuster from the insurance company and you'll get the same payout minus their fees. Do Not call them unless you have a catastrophic loss and are in need of 100's of thousands or more. They won't give you a record of what they actually did, and they will tell you not to talk to your insurance- this way, you wont have any idea if they did anything at all. Back in 2018, I owned a construction company that was getting ripped off with insurance jobs. I chose to study Public Adjusting to understand how insurance companies work so I could use that knowledge to help my homeowners maximize their claim dollars. Metro PA offered to help teach me the ways of Public Adjusting, and I was incredibly excited. However, I did not want to charge homeowners a percentage of the claim. I just wanted to use insurance law as a contractor to get claims paid fairly. Fast forward through several thousands of dollars for online course material and flights to Bensalem for in-person lectures and field training . . . mostly to be sexually harassed by B.U. The worst experience I've ever had. I was told using a 3rd party adjuster would be beneficial. I can never get a call back. It's been 4 months and I haven't revived a check yet. Metro does get the occasional one star review, and my personal response to those reviews if and when I am asked about them by clients, is that we can't always accommodate everyone. Each time a client's claim is being handled through Metro, there is a certain aspect of the process that is uncontrollable for us as reps and adjusters. When insurance policyholders in certain states are born and bred to know the importance of using a Public Adjuster, yet, in one state away, there might be only like 2% of those policyholders who've heard about our work as the top, public advocacy insurance education resource we are. There's high value & benefits of these uneducated clients trusting in us to help them FIRST!
