I'm an American, natural-born citizen that arrived to support my friend & her daughter in acquiring their citizenship. They've been working toward this day for years, jumping when told, going to government offices, following directions & paying all of the bills to be naturalized once & for all. Again, today, they were pushed back to October 2025 to be sworn in despite completing & passing their citizenship tests. They were told by two separate officers that Tennessee is the only state that makes people who have achieved what they have wait for their citizenship ceremony. They were told that if they were in another state they would be citizens TODAY. This is so unfair & ridiculous! It is the system that is so broken in this country & state while people pay, go through the required motions & still are forced to wait while fearing deportation despite following the rules. I was also personally treated horribly by the security officer at entry. He is also an immigrant of Hispanic nature. He was forceful, abrupt, condescending, sarcastic, & demeaning to me. He stated, "I need you to open that!" I was holding my purse, my I.D., and a water bottle. I had previously asked upon arrival if I could bring in my water & was told yes. I opened my purse & he yells at me stating, "No, I said I need you to open that beverage container." He had never specified exactly what needed to open of the two items in my hands until that moment. I apologized & told him I hadn't understood that's what he needed. He forcefully & loudly said, "Well, you're about to understand!" My friends turned around shocked at his tone & rude commands. He then ordered me to remove my shoes. They are lace-up shoes. Everyone else wearing lace-up shoes who entered before me did not have to remove their shoes, including my friend's daughter. He was clearly enjoying giving me a hard time. I asked if I needed to remove my jewelry before going through the metal detector. He said, "Did I tell you to remove your jewelry?" I turned my attention away from him & looked toward the officer who waves you through the metal detector. He glanced at the rude, Napoleonic physiqued & minded co-officer, rolled his eyes & nodded his head to show me he didn't agree with the treatment I was receiving. We went on to check in. They took their tests & then were informed that my friends would have to wait three more months to become citizens. My friend's daughter's citizenship test giver had the audacity to say to her after asking questions about her recent college graduation from a highly esteemed private university in our city, "Well, I'm sure you didn't graduate college to become a cashier," insulting her college job that she will soon be leaving. How incredibly insulting can you get? All in all, I'd say that the people that I encountered & learned about at this office lack the integrity & professionalism I would expect from a government agency, but I suppose not from anyone serving this current administration. Today was just another lesson regarding ridiculous bureaucracy & blatant abuse of power in a situation in which the immigrant & the citizen are powerless.

We didn't speak every day or hung out; we had chats in line while waiting for the bus. This was over a period of a few years. I knew she was a government drone. But I didn't know she was looking for a transfer before I moved. I had stopped using that bus line for a good 2 years, and therefore hardly saw her for a few years before moving. Within days of moving to Nashville, I get a call from the Department of Homeland Security, looking for information on my bus friend. If I were expecting a call from the DHS -- which I wasn't -- it would be from the San Francisco office, since the transfer my friend was looking into was based in SF. But this was from DHS in Nashville. My friend swore up and down that she never submitted me as a reference. She didn't even know my phone number or email address or my condo #. I don't think she even knew that I was moving to Nashville, since we rarely saw each other after I had stopped using that bus. We really didn't know each other outside of the bus line. I had to look her up on Facebook to ask her about this call. So, yeah, Big Brother was watching me. I had nothing to hide, so I wasn't scared or anything over this. Kudos to the DHS for amusing me with their antics. OTOH, I did get slightly paranoid when I tried to post this just now and Yelp was conveniently down for maintenance. Koinky-dink? I think not.

And apparently if you even clear your throat "you're spitting on people". False shameless Davidson is huge; there's no shortage of precincts for one. There is even Sherriff's Office being constructed directly across from an older or current one. The super close bus stop is convenient. But place is so far out because everything far apart it is so convenient. Everybody there was entirely hostile and irresponsible. You wake up at 5AM by yelling before you even get out of bed for a meal. Then if you do not hear the quiet mumbling in 1 sec of waking up you get shut door which slams like not a little slot. And echoing throughout whole facility. With words like "give me all that smart ass, shit" I was like "i did Not say Anything" but went back to sleep. It is super cold temperature in here due to air conditioning they keep on max bc it makes you sleepy. If I do yoga they interrupt me. Then they reject every single one of my response. I am spitting on people and blah defamatory. Other claims to keep me in Disciplinary. I was denied phone from when I step in all the way to when I stepped out. They push me out practically. Sign THIS! They demand you to do things you do not even have the receipt for. The belongings sign. Or medical which you don't need or release of information which you absolutely should not do. When I am peaceful they are disturbance. When I talk to them they say I'm Cause of trouble. They stereotype themselves as if they are getting paid for it. The are getting paid as guards to uphold law I know that much. Funny thing about CoreCivic that run the facility is it is such great idea with all these rules how can they break it and mess it all up? It seems efficient with guidebook and how you access everything with organized approach. (Rights section was Removed.) First not given a handbook but ask for rules anyway. To see if medical was necessary, then I am denied med QA, and it was needed indeed for intake. If you do not do intake you do not get phone but Disciplinary? Good luck access the library for complete Inmate Handbook. After intake hygiene shower rule follow instantly. Denied shower for 48 hours. You know they only gave one right before being van off to court. Good luck doing yoga with cuffs too tight. When everybody else goes ahead they pretend I left court. I was placed separately. Because otherwise I might actually get to use rec and access phones. Or do yoga with cuffs too tight Court is dirty. You want shower direct after. Not before. And while I was being stripped of all these rights. Well court is playing their own thing w cam games. They did everything to break all those rules. Such as they took away etc/shoes/sheets which everyone is given. I got a single apple out of week or so stay where general pop not even disciplinary inmate got the apple every lunch or meal. I just had bread as I am vegetarian. I just had jelly & peanut butter. As deli and hotdogs apparently and hamburgers is all they give. They give hot meals in past tense now only like Detention Hills bc all they gave you is plastic boxes they all call tray. Small box got everything wrapped in plastic. Identical to downtown center. But completely no associated different CoreCivic ran legal place ... Was placed in a room I know you are supposed to clean before you leave. Was all ready dirty. I Cleaned it. Then moved me to a room in corner Extra Cold. That I can not clean. They claim I broke the plumbing on purpose. I was not offered a trash can or bag and everyone else room's they empty the trash but whatever. Only sink in jail I have ever faced with hot water. But w newly assign room which took forever, was not allow to 'go' After court. They claim the sink was taken off and replaced and the previous girl took it off. There is no *u*king way she would be able to take off a sink. Heard them fiddle with plumbing. So after strong flush was used for throw away packages from food. tray ridiculous box thingamajig. and fail I hear them do something with sink. Bathroom with no toilet and no sink with guards who ignore you walk by and not very agreeable when they do talk is literally no way to go. YOU WILL WAIT FOR WHEN I SAY YOU GO TO RESTROOM!! That is what I heard. Bowels do not wait for anyone. If you can not appreciate or respect that I would say you treat adult fellows like a toddler. Or it is just me. If you want to renew your tags, TN is waiving Class A & B state registration fees for those whose…read moretags are expiring between now and June 30th 2023. A renewal isn't free since only the state portion is waived, but that'll make your car tag only about $61 with the 2% credit card fee. When I asked why, the clerk didn't know but I had no complaints.... Any discount is GREAT! I learned that you can only renew tags for others ONLY if the tag has expired within 90 days. Any older expirations will need the registered owner to come in person and renew their own tags. So I was unable to give a gift of tag renewal which would have been a "novel" and unorthodox Christmas present. Another fun fact I learned was that TN Residents can go to any Driver License station in ANY COUNTY! I suppose getting rid of emissions testing was the best thing for efficiency They close at 4:30pm so I recommend coming in by 4pm in case there's a line. Since there were only about 2 other customers already being served, the security officer took me straight to a customer service representative at an available window. Everyone there was very pleasant and I was in and out so quickly.

There are actually TWO airports in Nashville. The big one that most people know as BNA and the…read moresmaller one, John C. Tune Airport that does not have commercial traffic. The MNAA operates both of them. My experiences with the MNAA were at the larger airport which is well run and seems pretty organized. My complaint is with the parking. $21 a day for short term parking? That's crazy. Long term or economy via shuttle is $9. Why pay $21 for short term when you can pay $24 for valet? Oh, and no free wifi. What's up with that? (*Note that this review was from July 2015 but Yelp merged the Airport Authority and the BNA airport. I have split them again.) ATTENTION YELP HAMSTERS! PLEASE DON'T MERGE THIS WITH THE NASHVILLE AIRPORT. THEY ARE *SEPARATE* BUSINESSES!
