I love this gym! I have now used this gym 6 times in 3 separate visits to FW to hang out with my girl who works in town. Lucky for me the couple she stays with or the hotel we get is always 2-3 miles away from The Castle! I loved it the first time I walked in and have only gotten to enjoy it more every time since. Each workout I do being different, lends to more exposure and use of the gym and its multitude of training implements and spaces. The vibe here alone sets the tone beyond any other gym due to the flags flown all over the gym, military branches and armed forces memorabilia, police and fire patches adorn the walls and polls of the gym. Photos, awards, medals, trophies and plaques of past legends of bodybuilding, powerlifting, strongman, special forces and other sports deck the walls and shelves of the gym to showcase the names of great men and woman who have trained in the very gym I walk into. The music blasts here to keep the energy going but that only builds from what the trainers, and members bring to the gym already. Young, old, new, vet, out of shape, in shape, does not matter, every person here is always getting the hell after it hard! No one screws off, dinks around, or bull shits. People work! They sweat, grunt, they train! They do not just toss weights around and aimlessly workout to pass time and hope results come. Far from it. I love that determined Eye of The Tiger vibe that permeates the gym every time in all its people. Huge spaces available for bodybuilding, powerlifting, strongman, CrossFit, athletic performance development. Trainers both men and woman can be seen all over the gym working with clients closely the way a trainer should be....coaching, pushing, encouraging, leading them, not clipboard carrying, rep counting overpaid, under qualified meatheads acting as trainers. Just a damn good gym for serious people at all levels to visit at least once to see how a real deal old school gym should be run and how it should feel. I will be going back here EVERY time I visit FW to get my training sessions in. Military members with ID get FREE access which absolutely rocks if you ask me. Talk about respecting the armed forces and giving a damn for those who sacrifice for others. The owners Rendy and Christine are class act people who know how to run a gym and care for its people that is for sure. Many people will likely hate this gym on first glance. Too rough, loud, intimidating, aggressive, macho etc....I get that...if they give it a shot and play it out I bet they come around and learn to love this kind of gym. If not, fine, not everyone is ready for what this gym is likely to offer them. read more

This place is an amazing hardcore gym!! Has literally everything - strongman, bodybuilding, powerlifting, CrossFit, boxing, mma, viking school, tons of cardio. Every piece of equipment including turf field!! Just missing a basketball court and it would literally be a one stop spot. Even has a new recovery area!! $150 FOR THE WHOLE YEAR!! Can't beat that. Love this place. They have everything you could ask for in a Strength and Conditioning facility. I'm not a member here only because I live a few hours away, or I would be coming in here regularly. Everything from powerlifting comp benches and bars, rowers, stones and logs, tires to flip with a great selection of kettlebells. The gym is massive and never feels too cramped like most others. It's your kind of gym if you are looking for a grungy garage type of feel. The owners shook my hand and made me feel super welcome and they were nothing but genuinely nice people. I used to be a big fan of Metroflex. When I first started strongman I worked out under the instruction of Josh Bryant at the original Metroflex in Arlington. Would come in and lift next to Ronnie and Branch and it was magical like lifting at Golds in Venice. I'm pretty saddened and disappointed in Brian Dobson for selling out his name and brand to such disappointing gym owners. I've been to a number of Metroflex gyms across the country and the ones I've been to have all been so poorly run and have the absolute worst equipment. The Denver location closed and I'm really surprised this gym in Fort Worth is still open. The equipment is just about the worst I've seen. It's unsafe as the members are on par with those from Planet Fitness. To use a deadlift or squat bar you have to give your drivers license to the staff to "check out" a bar. The rest of the bars in the gym are all bowed and of extremely poor quality. Equipment is strewn through different buildings with literally no logical layout. People get out equipment and just leave it wherever they last use it and don't put anything back. Staff were lazy and the owner concentrated on his lifting rather than running his business. The water fountains were unusable as there was no flow and the bathrooms were disgusting. I understand the mentality behind a gym like metroflex. I loved the original gym it was hardcore and simple. This gym was neither unfortunately. I would absolutely never ever go back to this gym and would recommend to those that are serious about their goals not to go here. It simply feels cheep, gross and unsafe. read more

I went in there for the first time the other day to work out. I was a firefighter so they let me in free. I think it's really awesome how they take care of veterans police officers and firefighters when you go to work out at a place like MetroFlex.I have to say the experience was one for the books I had a great time there working out worked up a good sweat and no one bothered me at all in fact I actually met another firefighter there we had a cool conversation. This gym has the atmosphere of hard-core lifting, mixed with boxing and fighting. What a cool gym to go to and be a part of I cannot wait to have more experiences there. If you hate everything about planet fitness then this is the place for you. Is a hardcore training facility with a lot of equipment, tons of free weights, strength training equipment, From atlas rocks to farmer carriers. Ropes, boxing bags, tires, a ring and cage. Is ok to make loud noises please use chalk yes you may dead lift and grunt all you want. Is ok to be shirtless making gains. Best thing is that they take care of military when you are home on leave. I love this place that i now call home when im in Texas. The only thing if anything is that they should provide spray and paper towels to clean equipment just in case you forget a towel. read more
