This is not just a train ride but an adventure. The train is a very economical way to get around…read morethe city. Especially if you get a day pass or combo bus pass. It is easy to get to and is on the honor system. This station has a kiosk at the top of the stairs that you purchase your fare from. Only ticketed passengers are supposed to be on the train platform, but I did not see that being enforced or checked. They do have some security people walking around the station on occasion, but they really kept to themselves. This station lets off right at Busch Stadium. Gateway Arch Park and the Old Courthouse is within walking distance of the station. Luckily, I was here while the Cardinals were on the road. I can imagine that this place gets crazy on game days due to its sheer convenience. Now the bad. While on the train, I saw a fight, someone smoking (I do not know what they were smoking), someone playing loud music from their phone, and someone drinking alcohol. It was wild. Anyway, the train was pretty close to its scheduled time and was relatively clean, all things considered. Would I ride this train again...Yes, you can not beat riding all around town for $5 for a day. I would just caution you that you will more than likely encounter some shady characters on the train and at the station, so just beware.

You don't have to wait long for your bags however they have what I think are public security guards of some sort in the front of the building or absolutely exercising authority, acting like police, being rude, unkind with people who are outside pulling up to pick up passengers. I understand it needs to keep moving however, you don't have to be rude, nasty or unkind or think you're a policeman of some sort. Also, the airport could use some kind of bus to take passengers to the parking lot. This would benefit, especially those with small children or the elderly. Of course they could charge for the service since we all know that one thing Allegiant is known for is the nickel and diming for every little thing. I think people would pay for a bus to take them to their car though.

Holy cow, I am never flying out of Lambert again! This airport is SO easy to navigate. Parking is…read moreinexpensive and plentiful. There are only a couple of gates, so the security line moves very quickly and there's usually only 1 or 2 flights leaving around the same time, so there's like 100 people at the airport total! We flew out and back for the holidays and our stress level was next to nothing. (Which, if you know us, is like, amazing.) I'm from a small western city and am used to these smaller places that have only the basics and get the job done. Not every place needs to be Minneapolis. (IYKYK) But if you've never been to an airport like this, it might elicit a giggle or at least a smile because of its size. That said, it's updated and clean and bright. Plenty of stalls in the ladies room (go to the left! There's more stalls over there!) So easy, so clean and simple. I liked it a lot more than the hustle over at Lambert. Downsides: not much to eat or browse, but it's not nothing. There's a small magazine/snack/gum store. There's no Starbucks or other name-brands, but there is a nice little cafe and a good staff making hot breakfast sandwiches or grilled cheeses or lattes. But c'mon, if you're flying a discount airline are you really concerned about the brand of coffee? Anyway, 4 shiny stars.

East Riverfront may shorten my total travel time to/from St. Louis a bit, when I'm just trying to get to a game and avoid downtown parking. But, if I'm going to pay, then I'd rather get a little more of a ride. Often, there's a real live person to sell you a ticket. Otherwise, it's easy to use one of the automated ticket dispensers, $2.25 one way.

While public transportation is definitely not my favorite form (especially in the midwest -- it's…read moreso unreliable), the Fairview Heights metro wasn't terrible. It was clean, moderately efficient and no one bothered us. I say moderate because the Blue Line was down for maintenance and this put a sort of kink in our plans to get to St. Louis. Prices were the same as those others: $4.50 for a round trip ticket...although every time I use the metro, no one ever checks to see if I validated my ticket or even purchased one.

I see many of the same people here everyday, often I presume legitimately hanging out with friends, new ones rolling up with each new train. The perfect spot to board either direction, pretty much everyone gets off here except the few that are actually heading to the airport. Probably a great spot to buy weed if you have no real friends. I've never had any trouble with anyone but I have heard a couple people have been shot. Good luck.

Grand Metrolink Station is located directly underneath the Grand Boulevard overpass, between Saint…read moreLouis University's main campus and the medical district, with entrances from both the Scott Avenue side and the Grand bridge walkway. You can choose between the stairs and elevator to get between the entrance and the walkway. Today's elevator had just been used by someone smoking MJ which was unpleasant. At least it didn't smell of pee? Once you get past that moment, the station itself settles into the standard rhythm of the system where the Metrolink where both the Red and Blue lines run concurrently. It is between Cortex (outbound) and Union Station (inbound towards downtown). The station does have automated ticket kiosks and there were several security guards on duty this afternoon. That made the difference between sketch and safety which was pleasant. Tucked under the bridge, it's a mix of concrete and shade so there is some cover from the elements but I sure wouldn't want to be standing out here long when there's weather. The train arrived promptly enough but I realized after boarding that I needed a Blue train rather than a Red, so I stopped at Cortex to wait for the next. Yay? Great tour to take to learn about St Louis sites quickly I…read morerecently took the St. Louis Trolley Tour, and I highly recommend it. We parked across the street from the Four Seasons Hotel and the bus picked us up right in their covered driveway. The trolley itself is fantastic. It has the charming, classic look of an old-fashioned trolley but with modern upgrades that make a big difference. It had excellent air conditioning and a high-quality sound system so you could hear the driver. The ride was smooth and comfortable, even on some of the older city streets. Our driver was outstanding. He handled the tour beautifully, especially considering the fact that I am fairly certain that we had to take a completely different route because a sinkhole had opened up downtown that day. Despite the detour, he never missed a beat. His narration was engaging, informative, and full of details about the city's history and landmarks as we passed them by. He made the whole experience fun and enjoyable. The route took us through Forest Park, one of the highlights of the tour. We passed by the St. Louis Zoo and several other beautiful areas within the park. Our driver even stopped for about five minutes in front of the museum, where we were able to enjoy the excellent views across the park. It was a perfect little break in the tour. After leaving Forest Park, we wound our way back through the city, traveling through Midtown and seeing many of St. Louis's other notable sights to include a beautiful church. Overall, it was a very well-run, informative, and enjoyable tour. The combination of the comfortable trolley, excellent driver, and beautiful route made it one of the best city tours we've taken. I would definitely do it again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting St. Louis.

I am a local St. Louisian and took the Downtown East tour to get a close up look at the unique…read morearchitecture in our downtown. Mission accomplished with this tour. There was a lot of information about St. Louis history and culture, not just the usual but also the unusual, which was fun. I would have liked a little more detail about the specific architects and buildings themselves, but there was a lot to get in. The tour lasted exactly 2.5 hours and that was enough. We went to the Hotel St. Louis for lunch afterward so we could spend time in that fantastic art deco space. The restaurant is open breakfast through evening, so it would be a good spot to take a break whenever you might be downtown. The sheer number of truly beautiful historic buildings in downtown St. Louis is so impressive. Yes, some are neglected, but their elegance and scale are stunning. It was interesting to see up close the neighborhood and streets that I read about in the news. I recommend this tour for anyone, but in particular it would be great for locals to take it and see our city for the jewel it is. The walk was easy, the guide (Glenn) was fun and informative, and I was surprised at how spotless downtown is.
