Traveler warning - Florence, Italy…read more Today I exchanged US$200 at Best and Fast Change in Florence and received only €113.55. I was not told the exchange rate or the commission before handing over my cash. When I realized how little I had received, I immediately asked to cancel the transaction, but the request was refused. I called the police and was told that if I wanted to pursue the matter, I would need to file a formal complaint at the police station. Please always ask exactly how much you will receive before handing over your money, and get the exchange rate and all fees in writing. This was my personal experience. I hope it helps other travelers avoid an unpleasant surprise.
