They have an amazing selection of trains, including all different gauges, also miniature buildings, animals, people and everything else for your trains set. We didn't have an opportunity to stay too long so I'll be back to take a more in depth look in the near future. The staff are very helpful and super knowledgeable so come with questions and leave with answers. They also have a display with several trains set up with buttons for people to try to see what lights up or makes sound. The trains were not moving while we were there and they were kind of busy in the lead up to Christmas so we didn't ask to have them running, but I'm sure they would have turned them on if we had asked.

If you want to play a tcg, its probably a good spot. But if you're new and dont fit the mold, you might not feel comfortable there. Either way, I won't be coming back or recommending it. There's a lot of shops a bit further from us that we'd rather go to.

So I hunted for art supplies in Philly on a whim, and there was a sibling! And wandering around on Yelp, I've found yet another! This A&C S is the smallest of the three that I have been so lucky to visit. There is something to be said for a downstairs space to rummage and roam for treasure. While this one is one floor, it is still a worthy member of the clan. I tried to go for just one or two items, but ended up with a slew of pens and pencils. My only regret was the fact that my carry on was the limit, not the items in the store. The staff were a great balance of attentive and laissez-faire. I like being able to enjoy looking at things and touching things without feeling weird or feeling as though sales folks are going to vulture me. I felt welcomed and a part of the store, but not smothered. Also the staff was friendly with each other but did not ignore a single customer in their reach. I liked that balance.

When I got there they told me one motor was dead and couldn't be fixed and charged me $60+ tax for the other (2 body screws and one contact). I went and to put it on the track and when I took it out of the box the coupler fell off. Tried putting it back on and the screw was to short and the body needed to be filed down so that the coupler box would fit next to the body and the coupler would meet up to the height of couplers on other cars.. A short time later; I was able to put it on the track. This is my favorite car and can pull 15 feet of cars up a grade. Turned on the transformer and the train wouldn't move. Gave it a small push in case the wheels or track was dirty. Went back and turned transformer on again and turned up the throttle. Didn't move. Did all of this 3 times. On the 4th try I turned up the throttle high and shorted it out (blew fuse) on transformer. I called and they said to bring it back. Doug the manager was not in. I gave them my number and asked to have him call. It's been more than 2 days and still no call.

The guy was super knowledgeable, friendly, reasonable on pricing and had the patience of a Saint! The entire staff was genuinely friendly and helpful. The place was steady busy the entire two hours we were there. The aisles were packed full of rolling stock and glass cases displayed new/used locomotives for most gauges. Train sets priced from around $120 up to over $400. It was so much fun walking up and down each aisle with my four year old and hearing him talk about every item. Tracks, scenery, models, couplers, tools, styrene sheets, smoke, oil, glue, magazines, paint, and brands like Thomas & Friends, Atlas, Rapido, Lionel, Bowser, Walthers, Athearn, Bachmann. They have a nice selection of Polar Express items too and some antique items. My son enjoyed watching the trains on their small layout and before you know it two hours had passed, but we had such a great time together. What a great retail experience. You can still come in, but it's going to be packed. Other nights you can just come in with your friends and play games. How nice is that? Now when a store is giving this much to a community, providing free games to play for anyone who walks in, not to mention game experts who will gladly teach you a game, WHY ARE SOME PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE PRICE OF BUYING A GAME? This is a business. A very, very generous business. They have to make money in order to keep the doors open so that you and your friends can play games here for free. This is not your parents house. :-) Try going to a gaming Cafe where you'll have to rent space and you're expected to buy food or drinks. ...Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking that business model, I'm just saying that *this* business model is freaking generous! On Tuesday nights starting at 6 pm they have a league for Pathfinder that runs till 10 o'clock or better. Pathfinder is an off shoot of D&D 3.5 and it's amazing. I'm kind on the fence as I want to buy all their stuff, and they're just about to revamp things after 10 years of playing it their own way. To be part of the evening it works best if you sign up through a website called war horn. I've only managed to do it correctly one time, but you might be better at understanding it all. I also have 4 kids so I'm not free to take advantage of it like I'd like. On Thursday nights they do the same for D&D. I know they run 5e, but may be messing around with some of the older versions as well. At the old store, my first visit the people working behind the desk for amazingly welcoming and informative, and maybe even cooler did not ridicule me or disregard me as I was completely new to learning about Pathfinder and their evenings of in-store gaming. Probably because you're in the environment you're going to get somebody who is an Uber gamer/collector and they will seem to gain experience by letting you know your place of new town idiot, but aside from "that dude" the place is worth finding and adding into your social experience.

Another smaller, private company wanted to charge close to that as well. After searching high and low for 2 months, I came across an advertisement for Hobby Lobby. The online ad mentioned 50% off on framing. I immediately jumped in my car and drove to Cherry Hill. Upon arrival, I found a bustling store with a lot of people. I made my way back to the framing section and was met by a nice young lady who helped me pick out a frame and went over a few details. Once she rang up everything, she told me the price. I almost fainted bc I had prepared myself to hear another $600-$700 quote/estimate. Nope! The cost at Hobby Lobby was $299 + tax. I almost threw my panting over the counter bc I was so happy. I was given an invoice and due date to pick-up my framed painting. I arrived 2 weeks later to pick-up the painting and I could not have been happier. I am totally in love with how everything turned out. I truly appreciate Hobby Lobby for helping me in my time of need and for upgrading my painting!!

It's an incredibly well stocked store with a very wide variety of hobby supplies. From radio controlled cars and planes, to plastic model kit, to gaming accessories. First the entrance is in the BACK of the store so when you turn the corner, parking is behind the store/houses sharing a lot with a garage. There are signs showing you where to go, just be aware these are for the shop, not the garage. You enter in the back of the store with the sale items then enter the main store with car, plane and model trains. They dont have the best/most selection I've ever seen but they do have a good stock that if you look close, you might find a gem. There were plenty of paints and supplies we found and it reminded me of old school train stores I frequented with my grandfather. Store owner was pleasant, asking if we needed anything before going back to his conversation with another patron. We did eventually find the gundams but were disappointed to see he only had 5 base models in stock. Overall a nice business but with strange hours and parking situation it can be hard to find/get in. More for the model train/car enthusiast but worth a stop if you're near by.
