We want to use them before the end of the year. So we scheduled an appointment. Ended up with a couple appointments in fact. There was no PREDETERMINATION OF BENEFITS done, so costs were NOT disclosed to me up front as required by law. Anyway, I end up getting a statement. Not sure exactly how much I owe because the keep giving me different totals. Its either $624 or $714. They arent sure. So I TOOK THE INITIATIVE to call and work out some arrangements. Since the was no POD, I thought the office might work with me a little more. Unfortunately, the Dr. hired a new bookkeeper, Kay, in January. I wanted to have a civil conversation to explore options. Not at all interested in speaking to me or anything. She dominated the conversation, kept talking over me. I had to raise my voice repeatedly just to get her to stop talking long enough to listen. She has having none of it. She didnt care at all. I had intended to offer three monthly payments of over $200 each. Seemed fair. She kept talking over me so much that I was never able to make the offer. Thats the Dr's loss now. Now they dont really have a choice about the payments. I will make the regular payments to the Drs Office. Same payment amount I would have paid to care credit. AND they lost a brand new client. Sadly, the whole situation could have been avoided with a different attitude from the new bookkeeper. Its not like he's the only dentist in town. Plenty of competition out there.

She immediately had my six year old at ease when she greeted her with a big smile :) She had such patience and compassion that I'd never seen in a dental office before I almost wish we lived in Rapid City full-time so we could visit her again and again! My favorite part is how she took the time to explain everything she was going to do to my daughter before doing it so my daughter had time to process. She also asked my daughter if she had any questions and was super mindful of her experience as a small child being in an unfamiliar dental office. Her exam was completed by Dr. Juhlin and he was just as warm and friendly as Cassandra. It truly was such a seamless experience to be seen by him and I loved the way he provided my daughter with a letter grade so she could understand how great she was doing with her brushing and flossing. An extra special touch is they provide cavity-free kids with a Polaroid photo post visit that they hang on the wall to announce that they are proud members of the "sugar bug club," such a cute concept. There were also fresh cookies, prizes, stickers and the traditional new tooth brush gifted...it was just an impressive send-off to say the least! I didn't get their names but the receptionist who checked us in and the office worker who checked us out were also both kind and friendly. I really can't say enough great things about our experience today and I would highly recommend the entire team to anyone looking for a quality family dentist office in the Rapid City area!

I ended up paying a substantial amount of unexpected money out of pocket. There was no transparency or warning from the front desk about the price hike. When I tried to speak with them about how blindsided and upset this made me feel, they did absolutely nothing to fix it or make it right. I feel completely misled and taken advantage of. Make sure you get everything in writing here, or better yet, find a clinic in Rapid City that honors its word and cares about customer service.
