Lucky Dog is a second home for our dog Ellie. She was a rescue that is not very trusting of other…read morepeople and some dogs. From day one they have made her feel safe there. She actually starts squealing with excitement about 3 miles from Lucky Dog. We love the extra services you can get like "the Works" bath, ear cleaning and nails trimmed. We went through a period of family members having health issues. It was a blessing knowing we could call and take Ellie for boarding at a moments notice. During one unexpected stay we had to be away longer than we had anticipated the Lucky Dog staff had no issue getting her extra food to tide her over until we returned. When we inherited a second dog Max, we knew he would love Lucky Dog too. Daycare is sometimes more activity than he prefers but he is happy to board with them. For his first time boarding Greg made sure he put Max in a kennel with his sister to help him cope with this new experience. When the dogs come home they are happy and ready for a nap! The staff are all top notch and we truly feel like they are extended family. We couldn't be happier with Lucky Dog daycare and boarding!

The staff are friendly and knowledgable. When I explained my dog was a bit shy, they explained they would slowly introduce him to some of the calmer dogs before letting him out to play with all the dogs. One of my favorite features is that they close for "lunch" for a couple of hours. During this time each dog is offered their own food (if you brought some) and water in a private kennel. I like this because it gives the dogs a break from all the social interaction. They have a handy electronic check in and reservation system. Plus, you even get a deal if you buy so many days of daycare at one time. They also offer their bathing facilities for free if you'd like to bathe your dog there, or you can pay for services like bathing and nail trimming while you're gone. Lastly, they offer boarding services only to their customers who go to doggy daycare. Their boarding services include plenty of interactive playtime out of the kennel.

I say was and is because even after our sessions ended last year, she's still available for questions! Every now and then my dog will do something new and I don't know how to handle it. I just text Cortney and she's always quick with advice and ideas. During our training, Cortney came to my house and provided everything I needed like a mat, collars, leashes, etc. She walked me through training techniques and practiced with me at each session. I always left our sessions with homework to practice and continually reinforce the training. She took us (my dog and me) on walks and taught me how to use a leash correctly and appropriate commands and behaviors. The best testament to Cortney's skill is how EXCITED my dog is to see her. Kind, Ethical, Responsible Team I have had two dogs prior to…read morethis one and have taken them to several other reputable training organizations. This is the only one that bothered to find out about my specific goals for my dog and the only one that bothered to get to know my dog. I think everyone in the place came out to meet her and watch her at her first training. I had the usual reservations about using an e-collar on my dog (is it inhumane? Is it punishment? Would her personality change?) Andrew carefully demonstrated the collar to me and when we used it on my dog she did not indicate that she was in any distress. She learned quickly and seemed very proud of her accomplishments. At home, even without the collar she continues to do the things she learned in her only lesson. Two days after her first training, she was diagnosed with Heartworm. Because she must be kept still throughout the long treatment she cannot attend training, go to dog parks, doggy day care or even run. Sit Means Sit refunded my money, did not charge me for the lesson, offered advice on how to keep her still, and offered to continue to help when I needed it. I am forever grateful. When my dog is better (cross your fingers) I plan to bring her back. I would not hesitate to recommend Mike and his team for any dog issue whether it is a serious problem dog or a dog like mine who is a little timid, wants to kiss every child she sees and just needs a few skills to reinforce safe behaviors.

For daycare, my puppy and I are welcomed with a big smile and a big hello to us both. When he is picked up, the staff tells us who he played with and how he did. They even are helping us train him to get comfortable in a kennel. During his boarding stay the staff went above and beyond to say the least. They gave him extra love when he would get nervous- they even put him in a thunder jacket to calm his worries. Amazing. We are so thankful. They took Christmas photos of him after a complementary bath which were adorable! They communicated so well (and fast) so that we were at ease being far away. The woman who runs this shop was super great to us. It took a bit longer than she estimated but mostly because they were in worse shape than I let on. The groomer was very hipster, reasonably priced, very patient and gentle with two dogs that sometimes can get a little frustrating. I would go back in a heartbeat. She did a bang-up job on the two dogs, was very patient with all three of us, and is a cool little inde-local business owner that I'd happily support as long as these dogs are with me.
